This work critically analyses the particles that are usually considered modal in Bascolo-gy, considering their separate behaviour in comparison to the elements that typological-ly have received the same denomination. For this, two morphosyntactic properties have been analysed: a) if they must merge with another component and b) if they can appear in embedded contexts. As for Basque, I have concluded that traditional modal particles (ahal, bide, ei, omen and ote) behave as enclitic modal markers. However, others func-tion in a similar way to the prototypical modal particles, specifically morphologically independent speech act operators: bada, baina, berriz, gero, ordea and eastern ote. This case study aims at exploring the role of Basque and the multilingual practices that occur when English becomes the language of instruction in two Basque-medium secondary schools. The data collected through classroom observations and semi-structured interviews with four CLIL teachers show that, among others, teachers legitimize multilingual practices and that students’ other languages (mainly, Basque) have an important role in the classroom. However, the need for specific teacher training is underlined, so that students’ multilingual repertoires could be exploited in these settings.

This article aims to use feminist and collective literary criticism to analyze the novel Aitaren etxea by making use of the polyphony of voices and a polyhedral gaze. In this multiple crossing of looks and voices, we have first listened to the author, Karmele Jaio. Afterwards, we have carried out the geographical itinerary that accompanies this work. Finally, we have carried out a dialogic gathering with a reading group. We have transcribed and analyzed the three tools using the NVIVO 12 software. Thus, we have made use of qualitative research to approach the literary text. As a conclusion we can appreciate that this piece of research is a process of meaningful learning. This paper offers a rhythm analysis of the Basque language. Several authors argued that Basque has characteristics of syllable-timed languages, and this work is an exercise in favor of that statement. The main contribution of the study presented here is the realization of a rhythm analysis using rhythmic correlates in Basque. Different Basque varieties have been chosen to measure their rhythm. Basque varieties considered representative of areas where there may be prosodic differences were selected, in order to see the possible inter-dialectal differences and the rhythmic characteristics of the language. This article presents the project «Towards a Joint Construction of Future Scenarios of Basque». The project had two aims: to help shape the new phase of pro-Basque move-ment for the next decades, and to design a new interpretative framework to comprehend and develop the revitalization process of Basque. We will describe the theoretical and methodological basis of the new framework, which we have named the KOHiKoGa Model (acronym for the development of the linguistic community based on community capitals), and will explain how the project was carried out. Finally, we will suggest that this new framework is an appropriate tool for the revitalization of Basque at the micro level. This article synthesizes the theoretical contributions that feminist criticism has made on authorship. Although Roland Barthes advocated the «death of the author» in 1968, the article argues that feminist criticism and recent research on authorship offer new views to rethink authorship. The article reflects on the relationship between authorship and the body, as well as on the characteristics of the autofiction as genre. These concepts are key to proposing an interpretation of the novel A glass eye (2013) by Miren Agur Meabe. The article proposes that Meabe’s novel poses a new embodied authorship, through autofiction.through autofiction. During the last years, the use of Euskara has been increasing both in formal and informal settings. Despite this, the gap between the level of knowledge and use raises concern. That is why we want to analyze the results of the language revival process from a critical perspective. The article examines two factors that may be influencing the use of Euskara among young people: the institutionalization process that has characterized this recovery and the influence of language ideologies developed in recent decades. Both aspects will be studied in the light of a qualitative research carried out with youngsters from Amorebieta-Etxano (Bizkaia).
