Strength, Permeability and Carbonation properties of Concrete containing Kota Stone Slurry 含Kota石料浆混凝土的强度、渗透性和碳化性能

Concrete and stone, both are the most commonly used building materials. Rapid development in infrastructure sector has boosted the demand of both, resulting in many environmental concerns. Energy consumption and CO2 emission associated with the production of concrete and cement is a big concern. On the other side, there is a huge solid waste associated with the stone industry which has manifold environmental and financial concerns. For sustainable development, there is a need to utilize the stone waste as a partial replacement of cement (mineral admixture) in concrete so that so that the two problems simultaneously get solved. Kota stone slurry (KSS), which is abundantly available in area of Kota, Rajasthan was used as a partial replacement of the cement in this study. The objective of the present study is to determine strength and durability parameters of the concrete containing Kota stone slurry. The experimental program consists of preparing concrete mixes with two water binder ratios: 0.40 and 0.50 with varying Kota stone slurry percentage as 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25% partially replaced with cement. Compressive and flexural strength test, pull-off test were performed to evaluate strength and DIN 1048 water permeability test, carbonation test and abrasion test were performed to check the durability of concrete mixes. The results indicate that with the increase in Kota stone slurry content, the compressive and flexural strength decreased. There is a marginal decrease in permeability also but the mixes containing Kota stone slurry displayed better resistance to abrasion indicating their suitability as good floor and pavement material. The properties of concrete with Kota stone slurry indicates that it can serve as an alternating material in low cost rural pavements.

Forecasting accuracy drives the performance of inventory management. This study involves forecasting the sales of PV modules of a solar panel manufacturing company by demand forecasting methods including regression and exponential smoothing models. Demand forecasted is used to control inventory, minimize cost of ordering and holding inventory. The model should propose a viable economic order quantity which reduces the total cost of the plan.

Metallurgical Investigations of Synergic MIG Welding of 304L Stainless Steel 304L不锈钢协同MIG焊的冶金研究

The experimental study is carried out for the analysis of weld bead geometry such as bead reinforcement height, bead width and bead penetration of synergic MIG welding of 304L stainless steel. Microstructures of different zones of interest like weld metal, HAZ and fusion boundary under different welding parameters were viewed and captured with an optical microscope coupled with an image analyzing software. Fractured surface of the weld bead specimens were analyzed using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to the nature of the fracture mode. The results of EDS analysis shows that the inclusion particle mainly composed of Fe, Cr, Mn, Si, C elements. X ray diffraction (XRD) study has been done and result shows that phases like Fe, Ni-Cr-Fe, and Fe-Cr-Co-Ni are determined.

Implementation of 5S Methodology in the Small Scale Industry: a Case Study 5S方法论在小型工业中的实施:个案研究

5S is a basic foundation of Lean Manufacturing systems. It is a tool for cleaning, sorting, organizing and providing the necessary groundwork for workpiece improvement. This paper dealt with the implementation of 5S methodology in the small scale industry. By following the 5S methodology, it shows significant improvements to safety, productivity, efficiency and housekeeping.The improvements before and after 5S implementation is shown by pictures in the paper. It also intends to build a stronger work ethic within the management and workers who would be expected to continue the good practices.

Optimization of Production and Performance of Biodiesel through Optimization Techniques: A Review 基于优化技术的生物柴油生产与性能优化研究进展

Biodiesel is recently gaining importance as a substitute for petroleum based diesel mainly due to environmental considerations and depletion of vital resources like petroleum and coal. According to Indian petro fuel consumption scenario, the demand for petroleum diesel is increasing day by day hence there is a need to find out an appropriate solution may be biodiesel but the cost of biodiesel produced from vegetable oil through transesterification is higher than fossil fuel, because of high raw material cost. To minimize the biodiesel cost, in recent days, in most cases, NaOH is used as alkaline catalyst, because of its low cost and higher reaction rate. In this review the important process variables for esterification such as concentration of acid catalyst, alcohol/oil ratio, reaction time, temperature, and % of excess alcohol are optimized. The results are also verified with Ganetic Algoritham (GA) method and Taguchi method. Also summarized the research works in optimization of C. I. engineperformance and operating parameters for biodiesel fuel using optimization techniques.

COVID-19 outbreak has been articulated as a global public health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO). The expeditiousness and the repercussion of COVID-19 to the worldwide economy is unprecedented. The crisis is totally unique and abysmal due to its reciprocal effect on the pandemic as it explicitly observes an inversion of capital inflows, creating competitive and comparative financial instability in the commercial and public sectors. The crisis can be evaded if local or international investors effectively evaluate Malaysian's primary macroeconomic and fundamental structural conditions. The essential drivers are innovation and capital, whereby the way to forestall future crisis is to democratize the economy. The authorities may have to accomplish more to secure economic activities recovery, as certain components of the economy, such as manufacturing will see a quicker turnaround in comparison to the tourism and travel industry. This may mean giving further financial assistance, particularly to the most unfortunate 40% of the populace. This pandemic has likewise underscored the requirement for Malaysia to set up a more grounded social security framework that is practical and less divided to improve the welfare system, both during the recuperation and beyond. Such a framework would ensure hedging towards evolving trends of employment and income derivation.

Effects of Dual-fuel at Different Engine Parameters 双燃料在不同发动机参数下的影响

Rapid depletion of fossil fuels is urgently demanding an extensive research work to find out the viable alternative fuel for meeting sustainable energy demand without any environmental impact. looking at the twenty first century, it seems that cleaner and greener form of energy in complete congruence with environment are the only hope for a sustainable future.In the current investigation CNG is used with Jatropha oil methyl ester (JOME) in a dual fuel mode for complete combustion of charge present inside the combustion chamber, and for the reduction of emissions associated with CI engines. The engine trials were conducted on a stationary air cooled constant speed agricultural direct injection diesel engine by increasing load from 0-100%.The effects of the pilot charge on various performance and emission characteristics were evaluated on all range of load. While comparing the results with diesel an increment in Brake Thermal Efficiency (BTE) and reduction in the emissions i.e. CO, HC, smoke were found with the dual fuel mode of CNG-JOME in CI engine.

Applicability of Quality Principles for Valve Sourcing and Expediting – The Indian Valve Sourcing and Expediting Series 阀门采购和加急质量原则的适用性。印度阀门采购和加急系列

Sourcing and expediting activities are technical twins and the activities require high level of discipline and technical excellence. Valve sourcing offices are blooming faster in India and they are either affiliated to a Parent Organization overseas or independent. Independent Valve Sourcing Offices work in collaboration with regional valve manufacturers and with Overseas Valve Manufacturers and bridge the Supply Chain gap between them.Quality Principles are necessary to maximize the performance of sourcing and expediting teams. ISO 9001 provides guidelines to practice quality management system and is also applicable to sourcing and expediting activities as well. Based on ISO 9001 and several other quality principles, this article provides guidelines to efficiently operate a sourcing and expediting office. Real time guidelines to operate principles such as KANBAN, 5S, 8D, FMEA, Statistical Quality Control have been presented in this research article and sufficient examples have been provided. This article will be an eye-opening manual to maximize the performance of Valve Sourcing and expediting teams

Linguistic proficiency has emerged as one of the key conditions for the granting of permission to stay and for naturalization in an increasing number of European as well as non- European countries. A survey in 2002 showed that 4 out of 14 countries (29%) had language conditions for citizenship; the 2007 follow-up survey revealed that five years later this number had grown to 11 out of 18 countries (61%). These tests are often used for a variety of undeclared and covert purposes, other than just 'measuring knowledge'. These 'Language tests' enable governments to use them in the context of immigration, and for the purpose of gate-keeping to regulate and restrict the entry of immigrants. (Spotti and Van Avermaet 2009:14).This article offers a vide range of possible answers, their in(validity) and ir(relevance), social desirability and level of detail required.

Thermodynamic Irreversibilities Analysis of Industrial Ice Plant 工业制冰厂热力不可逆性分析

The behavior of single-stage vapour compression-refrigeration cycle, using NH3, has been investigated by the exergy method. The condenser and the evaporator’s saturation temperatures were varied from 295 K to 305 K and from 249 K to 239 K respectively. The effects of temperature changes in the condenser and evaporator on the plant’s irreversibility rate were determined. The greater the temperature difference between either (i) the condenser and the environment, or (ii) the evaporator and the cold room, the higher the irreversibility rate. Reduction in the irreversibility rate of the condenser gives approximately 2.58 times greater reduction in the irreversibility rate for the whole plant, whereas reduction in the evaporator’s irreversibility rate gives a 2.32 times greater mean reduction in the irreversibility rate of the whole plant. Because the changes in the temperatures in the condenser and the evaporator contribute significantly to the plant’s overall irreversibility, there is considerable scope for optimizing the condition imposed upon the condenser and evaporator.
