On the Influence of the non-WSSUS Condition in the Performance of IEEE 802.11-Based Channel Estimators for Vehicular Communications 非wssus条件对基于IEEE 802.11的车载信道估计器性能的影响

Measurement campaigns carried out in different propagation scenarios around the world have shown that the statistical properties of vehicular multipath radio channels are strongly non-stationary. However, in spite of its practical relevance, the impact of the channel's non-stationarities on the performance of the vehicular communication systems (VCS) has barely been investigated, and is therefore not fully understood. To increase the knowledge on such important subject, we present in this paper a comparative performance analysis of six channel estimation techniques for VCS based on the IEEE 802.11p Standard, namely, the Least Squares (LS), Spectral-Temporal Averaging (STA), Modified STA (MSTA), Constructed Data Pilots (CDP), Frequency Linear-Averaged Data Pilot (FLDP), and Time-Domain Reliable Frequency-Domain Interpolation (TRFI) estimation techniques. Using a novel simulation framework, we evaluate the estimators' performance in terms of their bit error rate (BER) for the case when the propagation channel fulfills the wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering (WSSUS) condition, and also for the case when such condition is not met. The obtained results show that the estimation techniques that apply a joint time-frequency interpolation (STA, FLDP, and TRFI) are considerably more sensible to the channel's non-stationarities than the techniques that only interpolate in the time domain (MSTA and CDP).

5G V2X Ecosystem Providing Entertainment on Board Using Mm Wave Communications 5G V2X生态系统利用毫米波通信提供车载娱乐

The fifth generation (5G)cellular network can be considered the way to the ubiquitous and pervasive paradigm ecosystem. It will allow the society to be fully mobile, integrated and connected to anything, anytime, anywhere. The vehicle-to-everything (V2X)scenarios integration with the 5G networks is unavoidable, allowing the cars to be connected to the new radio (NR)technology. Among the next-generation vehicle networks challenges it is the guarantee of on-board entertainment service delivery quality. For this purpose, this article evaluates vehicular traffic with Internet-based video services requests, using a 5G network approach based on software defined networking (SDN). Specified features and requirements of the international mobile telecommunications for 2020 and beyond (IMT-2020)systems have guided the proposal. Simulations were performed through the Network Simulator ns-3. The simulations adopted enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB)use cases, employing millimeter wave (mmWave)communications. The two main metrics - transfer rate, and transmission delay - were analyzed and compared. The results show satisfactory performance to the V2X communications stringent requirements, when adopting millimeter waves on the future 5G networks.

6Genesis Flagship Program: Building the Bridges Towards 6G-Enabled Wireless Smart Society and Ecosystem 6Genesis旗舰项目:搭建通往6g无线智能社会和生态系统的桥梁

In this paper, an initial vision of what the sixth generation mobile communication system (6G)might be is presented. This is done through the primary ideas of the 6Genesis Flagship Program (6GFP), a recently formed Finnish academic and industrial consortium aiming at developing key enabling technologies for 6G. 6GFP is an eight-year large-scale research initiative set to ultimately develop, implement and test key enabling technologies for 6G. Motivations, visions, trends and expectations for 6G are first discussed to set the ground for further development. Four main research areas are proposed as the starting point, encompassing not only wireless communications but also computer science, electronics and material science as well as applications and services. The paper provides an in-detail list of technical topics going to be studied in this program, and in general, worth considering for everyone planning to develop beyond 5G technology. The paper also shed some light on how the research will be implemented, showing the logic and relationships between the research areas, discussing already selected promising enabling technology for 6G, as well as envisioning how the proof-of-concept of the developed system will be carried out. An existing state-of-the-art 5G network will be used as the starting point for developing and testing the novel concepts and technologies created in the program.

SAWOA: Self-Adaptive Whale Optimization Algorithm for Notch Filter Design in UWB Antenna Applications 超宽带天线陷波滤波器设计的自适应鲸鱼优化算法

In this letter, a new Self-Adaptive Whale Optimization Algorithm (SA WOA)is introduced and applied to the design of a printed antenna with ultra wide band (UWB)characteristics. This algorithm is implemented on a basic structure of an octagonal printed antenna which includes a search process based on finding an optimal solution for the effective length of a H-Shaped Notch filter located in the patch. The filter position in conjunction with the effective length determines the frequency ranges that will be rej ected and can be adjusted over the entire operational range of the antenna. In this case, it is proposed to rej ect the frequency bands for IEEE 802.11a and WLAN-HIPERLAN / 2 from 5.1 to 5.9 GHz by applying SA WOA, obtaining an effective filter length of approximately 18.6454 mm and positioned around 12.5269 mm from the power line to ensure an optimum rejection with a center frequency of 5.5 GHz. The dimensions for the optimized printed UWn $B$ octagonal antenna are 30 mm ⨯ 35 mm, with a bandwidth of3.1 to 12 GHz and a return loss less than −10 dB throughout the UWB frequency range except in the optimized rejection range. The proposed SA WOA algorithm uses a correlation-based cost function between the fitness agent and a previously defined response pattern, resulting in a shorter computational time to achieve best parameters providing a high structure precision as well as high performance level.

Approximate Antenna Radiation Pattern Determination Using a Low Cost Measuring System at 2.4 GHz 基于2.4 GHz低成本测量系统的天线辐射方向图近似确定

This paper presents a cost-effective and friendly interfaced system to acquire radiation patterns of antennas in GHz frequencies for academic purposes. National Instruments' USRP 2921 and Arduino are used to accomplish the radio readings and step motor control, respectively. Criteria used for trials is that if the scenario is large and far away enough from external radio sources, reflections and interference are negligible. Results show good resolution despite not using an anechoic chamber. For this project, the signal to noise ratio (SNR)is used instead of the received power to plot the charts.

A Non-WSSUS Rice Fading Channel Model for Vehicular Communications 车辆通信的非wssus稻米衰落信道模型

A non-stationary doubly-selective Rice fading channel model for vehicular communication systems is presented in this paper. This new channel model is cemented on the electromagnetic theory of plane wave propagation and the geometry-based statistical modeling approach. Such framework allows obtaining a mathematically tractable and insightful description of the vehicular channel's non-stationary characteristics in the time and frequency domains. The first-order statistics, correlation properties, and spectral characteristics of the proposed channel model are thoroughly analyzed. In addition, the model's suitability to reproduce empirical data is discussed by considering its fitting against the measured Doppler profile of a real-world vehicle-to-infrastructure channel. The non-stationary doubly-selective Rice fading channel model presented here can be used as a benchmark for the performance evaluation of emerging vehicular communication systems in propagation scenarios where the rather unrealistic wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering (WSSUS)condition is not fulfilled.

This new channel model is cemented on the electromagnetic theory of plane wave propagation and the geometry-based statistical modeling approach. Such framework allows obtaining a mathematically tractable and insightful description of the vehicular channel's non-stationary characteristics in the time and frequency domains. The first-order statistics, correlation properties, and spectral characteristics of the proposed channel model are thoroughly analyzed. In addition, the model's suitability to reproduce empirical data is discussed by considering its fitting against the measured Doppler profile of a real-world vehicle-to-infrastructure channel. NB-IoT Random Access Procedure Analysis NB-IoT随机接入程序分析

Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is a cellular technology that will provide connection for a massive number of low-cost and low-power devices. This work describes the analysis of delay the NB-IoT, calculating the probability of success in the random access procedure, as well the average delay and normalized flow rate for different parameter values, aiming at the best solution in the configuration of the network parameters in order to meet the access capacity and data rate requirements.

Unified Joint Symbol and Channel Estimation with Interference Subtraction for One-Way and Two-Way MIMO Relaying Systems 单向和双向MIMO中继系统的干扰减法统一联合符号和信道估计

Among the various technologies considered as keys to the implementation of 5G wireless networks, one that stands out is the use of relaying stations capable of increasing coverage area whilst providing cooperative diversity. This work addresses the issue of joint estimation of symbols and channels in a MIMO Amplify-and-Forward (AF) system, whether the relay works on a One-Way Relay (OWR) or Two-Way Relay (TWR) basis. In order to deal with this task, a higher-order multilinear approach is used to model the space-time coding and decoding processes carried out in the communicating nodes. Particularly to mitigate the problem of interference between users, a routine named Interference Subtraction (IS) is used in conjunction with the proposed semi-blind receiver, called DKRF-IS. In this work, uniqueness and identifiability conditions required for the use of the receiver are developed. Performance evaluation using Monte Carlo simulations corroborate the validity of the presented equations and the effectiveness of the proposed receiver.

Prototyping Platform for the Development of Proof-of-Concept of Digital Signal Processing Algorithms 数字信号处理算法概念验证开发的原型平台

Currently, in the field of new technologies, the trend is to use tools that minimize non-recurring engineering (NRE)costs and time-to-market. This is based on the fact that the high competitiveness between technological companies requires high dynamism in the flow of innovative ideas up to become salable products. In this aspect, the use of Heterogeneous Computing Platforms (HCPs)has a significant upswing since they allow rapid prototyping and a considerable approximation to the final product. Proof of concept (PoC)is an implementation of an idea or principle to demonstrate its feasibility or practical potential. Generally, the PoCs are small and may not be complete. This article exposes the following contribution: a proposal of an HCP that allows to analyze PoC by evaluating the performance of implementations with different objectives, such as theoretical evaluation of an algorithm, efficient implementation in terms of speed or finding processing bottlenecks to identify hotspots in the processing chain and apply manual refinements to the final product.
