A simple pattern of a triple band terahertz (THz) absorber is presented. This absorber formed by only triple symmetrical split rings backed with a solid ground layer which is separated by a dielectric layer substrate. It is investigated that the presented absorber has three different absorption bands in which the average of the peaks is close to 96%. Results reveal that the absorption bandwidth of the presented design is insensitive to wave incident angle. In addition, in order to enhance the absorption peaks, a new method is introduced which is based on the difference of split rings thickness. Owing to the simple structure of the proposed absorber, the fabrication process can be quite easy. Therefore, the proposed THz absorber is able to perform in applications such as sensing, detection, and imaging.

Online social networks play an important role as a suitable platform for information diffusion. While positive news diffusion on social network has a great impact in people’s life, the negative news can also spread as fast as positive ones. To make the social network a reliable place, it is necessary to block inappropriate, unwanted and contamination diffusion. In this paper, we study the notion of competing negative and positive campaigns in a social network and address the influence blocking maximization (IBM) problem to minimize the bad effect of misinformation. IBM problem can be summarized as identifying a subset of nodes to adopt the positive influence under Multi-campaign Independent Cascade Model (MCICM) as diffusion model to minimize the number of nodes that adopt the negative influence at the end of both propagation processes. We proposed Centrality_IBM algorithm based on centrality measures for finding an appropriate candidate subset of nodes for spreading positive diffusion in order to minimizing the IBM problem. Then, we experimentally compare the performance of the proposed algorithm using some centrality measures to choose the appropriate subset of positive influential nodes. The experiments on different real datasets reveal that the closeness centrality measure outperforms the alternative centrality measures in most of the cases.

This paper discusses Model Reference Adaptive Control design for the 4-DOF Serial Manipulator, at first, a 4-DOF Serial Manipulator mechanical design is introduced in CATIA software, then the model CAD design in CATIA is imported into the Adams software. With the help of Plugins ADAMS/Control is made Control block diagram for MATLAB software. Afterward, the DC motor model is designed in MATLAB software. And by connecting the DC motor model with the Adams-sub block, the overall model of the system is obtained with the input voltage and output of the position and angular velocity. In the next step, the kinematic equations of the robot are obtained with using the Denavit – Hartenberg method. Finally, a Model Reference Adaptive Control will be designed. Stability of this Model Reference Adaptive Control is established using Lyapunov stability theory. The simulation results vouch for the performance of the offered method.

Analyses of the recent blackout worldwide demonstrates the contribution of zone 3 of distance relays in expanding the cascading outages in 75% of major wide area disturbances. Vulnerability assessment can be used as a useful approach for preventing of cascading outages by early detection of the critical relays which may be incorrectly operated in power system stressed conditions such as load encroachment events. In this study, in order to identify the critical relays whose maloperation can cause the cascading outages, a novel vulnerability index is introduced based on the relay margin and its sensitivity to power flow. Based on the relay operation margin sensitivity to flowing power of the protected line, a control method to increase the relay margin of the critical relay is also proposed. A novel supervisory index based on synchrophasor measurements is proposed to monitor the vulnerable distance relay to prevent its contribution in expanding the cascading outages. The efficiency and capability of the proposed approach is evaluated on IEEE-39 Bus test system and the obtained results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The objective of this paper is to propose a fast and efficient corrective remedial action algorithm to prevent mid-term and long term voltage instability. In this method, voltage control areas (VCAs) are determined using electrical distance based partitioning algorithm and an improved line stability index has been proposed to assess the stability status of VCAs. Since those line stability indices proposed in the literature cannot assess the stability in real power systems (which have more than two buses), in this paper, an improved line stability index is proposed which can accurately determine the voltage stability stiffness. Then, considering the stability status of VCAs, a simple and effective corrective remedial action will be proposed to inhibit voltage instability. The performance of the proposed approach has been validated through several scenarios which are performed using DIgSILENT PowerFactory software in IEEE 39-bus test system.

Predicting potential drug-target interactions from heterogeneous biological data could benefit novel drugs discovery and improve human medicine. Computational prediction is a suitable alternative for the traditional time-consuming and expensive experimental process of drug-target interactions prediction. New computational drug-target interactions prediction approaches are divided into two categories: machine learning-based and network-based. In this paper, we extended the Bipartite Local Model (BLM), one of the most well-known approaches for predicting drug-target interactions. BLM has a high computational complexity due to the use of a two-dimensional kernel for the drug side. Instead, we used LINGO, a one-dimensional kernel, to calculate the similarity between drugs. In order to compare our work with previously published results, we performed experiments using publicly available real-world drug-target interactions datasets. The results suggested that our approach is competitive and outperformed BLM.

Implementation of parallel programs, divided into some tasks, and selection of proper resource among the available resources to execute these tasks are expressed as an important issue. This research aimed to evaluate a mapping method of tasks to resources, which are distributed in the cloud-computing environment. In addition, the tasks are categorized and their mapping is performed on the most suitable resource in terms of calculation and communication costs with regard to the communications between the tasks. The proposed method is compared to two Min-Min-C and Max-Min-C algorithms. Results of the performed scenarios indicate the reduction in the time required for mapping.

Nowadays, while increasing variety of online social networks (OSNs), content management has become harder. The paper suggests social media pages’ managers to publish their contents, including the composition of image, video or text, only once on a OSN and then contents will simply transfer to other OSNs with an add-on software without having to re-use the internet traffic. Suggested method has more high performance than similar ones on any OSN. Also, the proposed technique makes it possible to transmit content between OSNs belonged to different companies. In this study, due to the availability of suitable facilities in both OSNs of Telegram and Instagram, an intermediary software, was implemented under the Android operating system and this action was carried out for the transmission media from the Instagram OSN to the Telegram channels or groups. This study contains three innovations than related researches. The first one is transmission content with the least usage of Internet traffic between OSNs which are not supported by one company. The next innovation is a caching software system to reduce processes of extracting contents from source OSN’s network. The third item is transmission delay time decreased sharply. As a result, the trial version has served users and managers of pages and channels, including the official Telegram channel of a TV program named "90" and a news feed named "CANNews" (the analytical aviation industry news feed). Overall, this method not only has 98.81% correct action, but also contents are fitted into the post format of the destination OSN.

This paper presents an LC-VCO with a novel self-biased tail current switching. The proposed biasing method leads to reduce the phase noise of the LC-VCO when compared with the conventional biasing tail currents that implemented using a constant nMOS/pMOS current mirror. The proposed LC-VCO is designed in TSMC 0.18-μm standard technology to cover the specified applications in the 2.4 GHz frequency band. The designs implementation is done in cadence-virtuoso CAD tool. Simulation results of the proposed LC-VCO reveals that the phase noise reduced more than 4 dBc/Hz and 6 dBc/Hz at offset frequencies of 100 Hz and 10 KHz, respectively when compared with the conventional tail current. The maximum power consumption of the LC-VCO is 1 mW.
