Informatics education of non-informatics tertiary students in context of their study profile 非资讯科技大专学生之资讯科技教育

The paper presents a part of results a broad scale research which one of the aims was to evaluate current state and perspectives of information education carried out within the higher education study programs in economy and management. The purpose of the research is to contribute to solving the issues of modernisation and innovation of the informatics preparation of the relevant tertiary study programs graduates, considering the curricula content and its interconnection with the practice and labour market requirements regarding the graduates' knowledge and skills in informatics area. Main attention of the research is paid to the issues of teaching database systems and technologies. In this paper there is presented statistical analysis and interpretation of the research data obtained within a survey area named What I would like to learn.

Virtual 3D simulation of a car in traffic 汽车在交通中的虚拟3D模拟

This paper describes the development and possibilities of an application for simulation of car driving in real traffic. The final application could be used for teaching and training of individual traffic situations that may be encountered in real traffic. Our aim is to design a suitable physical model of car behaviour so that the user can concentrate on the traffic as much as possible. The paper also describes the development and basic findings from the testing of this application.

Advanced architectures distributed systems for the implementation of neural networks 用于实现神经网络的高级体系结构分布式系统

Many industries nowadays use management and decision making based on artificial neural networks. However, the major drawback of neural networks lies in their time and computational complexity. The problem with computational complexity could be eliminated using sharing of the computing needs on multiple computing nodes. This article focuses on the architectural design of a distributed system, which aims to solve large neural networks. The article describes the technology GPGPU and the next part of the article deals with an overview of methods for speeding up the calculation and distribution of artificial neural network. The main section describes the design of a model architecture description of the algorithm that allows correct data distribution on computational nodes.

Social networks in higher education 高等教育中的社会网络

The paper focuses on social networking activities of university students from the Faculty of Informatics and Management, University of Hradec Kralove. Respondents' preferences in using various social networks for se instructions were detected by the questionnaire described below, items 9-12. The results show strong preference of Facebook, Linkedin, Google+ and Twitter of them all, but in practice, reflecting the access rate, only Facebook could be used for education purposes.

Future of education: Academic or professional doctorate 未来教育:学术或专业博士学位

Since a long time ago, we are aspiring after a new type of professional doctorate program, a program which does not exist yet. “It should be the first duty of a school for life to help a young person build up an `intelligence profile'” [1]. We were already both victims and beneficiaries of the current `successor education'. “Our place, as human beings, is somewhere in the middle. We cannot fall captive to the rational, explainable homo economicus, nor can we completely give way to our animal spirits” [2]. It's high time to set up a professional doctorate program where not the `mechanized homo economicus' but the `humanized human' is in the center of education.

The paper presents problems which stem from massification of higher education. It discusses possibilities of overcoming the identified problems presented on the example of the course provided at Technical university of Košice, Department of Computers and Informatics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics. The applied measures consist of a detailed student manual, a formative and summative knowledge test, a broad range of home assignments and comprehensive term assignment. All activities are evaluated by strict scoring system.

This article is dedicated to the online archive of multimedia objects for educational purposes. Ultimately, it is a study tool to help students better understand and deepen the information, which assume lectures or to practice the exercises. The reason to make this archive was find educational materials for the teaching of computer network KPI FEI TUKE. The first task was to understand how to develop in Drupal CMS environment for this archive. It should be vytvotiť own user interface for using custom themes written in PHP, HTML, JS and CSS. This archive was created in partnership with a number of students who cooperated in the selection of materials and the creation of the portal. This archive has general use and is easily attachable to Ostané area výčby different subjects at various universities.

Individuals, organizations and society have dealt with various kinds of data for hundreds of years. But only in recent years that arose into a new challenge, which is Big Data. This topic is popular in various fields, because it can provide new insights on working system, social engineering, even management and much more. Big Data is thus becoming a technologically attractive field in both science and industry. The paper provides an overview to the nature of Big Data, its challenges, but also some insights into how it may be used in working infrastructure of any information related company. Several real life examples provided in this paper will give a better insight into how it works and how it can inspire more ideas on how to leverage existing data resources to create new knowledge.

Rule based system of adaptive e-learning 基于规则的自适应电子学习系统

This article describes rule based system of adaptive e-learning. Elemental part of this system are rules that are thoroughly described together with different types of their categorization. There is also briefly described the engine that uses this rules, how are they applied, how can they interoperate and collaborate and how are avoided all conflicts in rules. This rule based engine was used in adaptive system Barborka 4 that was used in two successful pedagogical experiments in two Ph. D. thesis.

Learning by game creation in introductory programming course: 5-Year-long study 在编程入门课程中通过游戏创作学习:5年学习

The present study examines and discusses recent developments in teaching and learning programming, based on Game-based learning and Learning by game creation at Technical University of Košice. The innovations are related to learning algorithmic concepts using Karel the Robot game library as well as learning programming fundamentals by creating such library, progressively extended to the Sokoban game. Research activities are seen to satisfy the requirements for becoming familiar with programming basics, abilities to continue with studying modern programming technologies, and better application in practice. The paper closes with a look at the future for more innovations in the context of our game-based teaching methodology.
