Incorporating privacy patterns into semi-automatic business process derivation 将隐私模式集成到半自动业务流程派生中

The design of systems capable of protecting users' privacy is a challenging endeavour. Since users are becoming more concerned about the amounts of their personal data handled, stored and shared by such systems it is imperative to identify methods for developing privacy-aware information systems. Current approaches either focus on the elicitation of user requirements at an abstract high level or approach the issue of privacy exclusively from a technical point of view. As a result, privacy implementations are often misaligned with the overarching system goals. This work improves the current situation by presenting an approach for the design of privacy-aware business processes. Goal models are created as a first step, for privacy requirements elicitation, and are then transformed into process models, thus bridging the gap between high level goals and low level processes. Privacy process patterns are utilised for the final instantiation of process models, achieving the satisfaction of the identified privacy objectives through the integration of privacy enhancing technologies. The main advantage of the proposed approach is its ability to map privacy from the strategic to the operational level through a semi-automatic process while offering designers adequate guidance to its operationalisation via the use of process patterns.

Effective data management of clinical information is well-known to be a very complex task. The breast cancer context provides a good example of how challenging the problem is in Information Systems terms. In fact, it is one of the basic problems faced by clinicians who work in this area. However, this problem is even bigger when clinicians and biologists try to relate these data to biological data obtained from research studies about this disease. This paper shows how Conceptual Modeling practices provide reliable working environments where clinical and biological information are clearly linked. We focus on miRNAs expression studies in breast cancer patients as a representative study of biological data in this environment. Representing all these biological data using Conceptual Modeling techniques and connecting it with the clinical information properly modeled using the same technique, creates the appropriate background to develop an information system able to manage efficiently and analyze all this information.

Increasing secondary diagnosis encoding quality using data mining techniques 利用数据挖掘技术提高二次诊断编码质量

In order to measure the medical activity, hospitals are required to manually encode information concerning an inpatient episode using International Classification of Disease (ICD-10). This task is time consuming and requires substantial training for the staff. We propose to help by speeding up and facilitating the tedious task of coding patient information, specially while coding some secondary diagnoses that are not well described in the medical resources such as discharge letter and medical records. Our approach leverages data mining techniques in order to explore medical databases of previously encoded secondary diagnoses and use the stored structured information (age, gender, diagnoses count, medical procedures...) to build a decision tree that assigns the proper secondary diagnosis code into the corresponding inpatient episode or indicates the impatient episodes that contains implausible secondary diagnoses. The results suggest that better performance could be achieved by using low level of diagnoses granularity along with adding some filters to balance the repartition of the negative and positive examples in the training set. The obtained results show that there is big variation in the evaluation scores of the studied diagnoses, the highest score is 75% using F1 measurement and the lowest 25% using F1 measurement which indicates further enhancements are needed to achieve better performance regardless of the encoded diagnosis. However, the average accuracy of all the studied secondary diagnoses is around 80% which indicates better negative predictions therefore it could be useful in the prevention or the detection of wrong coding assignments of secondary diagnoses in the inpatient stay.

Economic growth in Europe has been, strongly associated with urbanization, overwhelming cities with vehicles. This renders mobility inside cities problematic, since it is often associated with large waste of time in traffie congestions, environmental pollution and accidents. Cities struggle to invent and deploy “smart” solutions in the domain of urban mobility, so as to offer innovative services to citizens and visitors and improve the overall quality of life. In this context, the paper discusses on the fundamental challenges that cities face when trying to become smarter, focusing on the particular area of smart buildings and the management of multi-core, smart building architectures and presents some key research achievements and relevant research challenges.

Combining UML and B for the specification and validation of RBAC policies in business process activities 结合UML和B来规范和验证业务流程活动中的RBAC策略

Integrating access control into business processes is a non-trivial task. This paper presents an approach that combines the UML and B languages for the specification and validation of RBAC policies at the process level. It starts by modeling the access control rules using our extension of UML2 activity diagrams denominated as BAAC@UML (Business Activity Access Control with UML). The BAAC@UML models are then translated into a specification in the B language using our B4MSecure platform. Finally, the last step validates the RBAC policy by testing its formal specification using the B tools (Provers and Animators).

A participative method to improve knowledge absorption capacity in collaborative innovation projects 提高协同创新项目知识吸收能力的参与式方法

Knowledge absorption capacity, known as the ability of a firm to identify, ussimilate, transform and exploit external knowledge, plays an important role in explaining and fostering innovation in companies. In particular, this capacity is crucial for small and medium-sized companies relying on collaborative networks to develop their innovation projects. The problem is how such companies can absorb maximum knowledge through collaboration with their partners. This can help them to overcome resource scarcity and enhance competitiveness. In this study we aim to provide a participative method for modelling the knowledge absorption process in innovative project processes. This method, conducted with participatory techniques, will help us to identify organisational routines related to knowledge absorption. These routines provide the means to improve knowledge absorption in organisations.

Towards enhancing business process modeling formalisms of EKD with consistency consideration 在考虑一致性的情况下增强EKD的业务流程建模形式化

The Enterprise Knowledge Development (EKD) method promotes a holistic approach in Enterprise Modeling and advocates that a single modeling perspective (product, activity or role) is not sufficient for describing business processes. Instead, it offers a set of modeling formalisms, namely actor-role, role-activity, and business objects formalisms, in order to capture the knowledge on enterprise processes view from different perspectives. On the one hand, this strengthens modeling complex business processes, but on the other hand this sets the requirement for dealing with the consistency among those models describing the same business process according to different perspectives. The systematic literature review we have conducted showed, among its findings, that there is no modeling tool supporting all these formalisms, and hence no way was proposed to handle their consistency. In multi-perspective modeling, the quality of the created models and their capability to be involved in the “design by reuse” depend strongly on the consistency among them. This paper aims to enhance the syntactic and semantic quality of EKD business process models by proposing a set of consistency rules controlling their dependencies. As the definition of semantic consistency rules is far from obvious, we have modeled and investigated a plethora of business processes from different domains. Our proposal is then supported by a tool in order to promote an automated consistency handling and hence to save the time and efforts of process modelers.

Instead, it offers a set of modeling formalisms, namely actor-role, role-activity, and business objects formalisms, in order to capture the knowledge on enterprise processes view from different perspectives. On the one hand, this strengthens modeling complex business processes, but on the other hand this sets the requirement for dealing with the consistency among those models describing the same business process according to different perspectives. The systematic literature review we have conducted showed, among its findings, that there is no modeling tool supporting all these formalisms, and hence no way was proposed to handle their consistency. In multi-perspective modeling, the quality of the created models and their capability to be involved in the “design by reuse” depend strongly on the consistency among them. This paper aims to enhance the syntactic and semantic quality of EKD business process models by proposing a set of consistency rules controlling their dependencies. As the definition of semantic consistency rules is far from obvious, we have modeled and investigated a plethora of business processes from different domains. Dynamic re-configuration of software product lines towards an exploratory study on DSPLs 面向dsp的软件产品线动态重构探索性研究

Adaptations need to be considered at design-time (adapting complex systems to new technologies, reengineering due to new regulations etc.), but also during runtime (e.g. new emerging functional and non-functional requirement, context-specific decisions). Objective: I use SPLs as a strategy for coping with uncertainty and adapting to change, where conventionally change occurs in the requirements of the software product lines' market. Our idea is to design a variability mechanism in the domain of dynamic software product lines engineering in order to enable continuous evolution and adaptation of the software product lines at run-time. Method: I investigate dynamic change propagation of SPLs at run-time through an explorative study. A literature review and semistructured personal interviews with relevant actors in the domain of SPLs are the fundament of our research. This analysis enables us to understand how SPLs are dynamically adapted and evolved in practice. Conclusion: This study will give us an overview of the domain of DSPLs and allows us to identify the research gap regarding run-time adaptation and evolution of SPLs.

Multi-objective risk analysis with goal models 基于目标模型的多目标风险分析

Risks of software projects are often ignored and risk analysis is left for later stages of project life-cycle, resulting in serious financial losses. This paper proposes a goal-oriented risk analysis framework that includes inter-dependencies among treatments and risks in terms of likelihood and generate optimal solutions with respect to multiple objectives such as goal rewards, treatment costs, or risk factor. The Loan Origination Process illustrates our approach and a detailed analysis of the visual notation is provided.
