This analytical study is dedicated to notable Russian philosopher in exile and theoretical pedagogue of culture Sergei Iosifovich Gessen (1887-1950), who is a somewhat forgotten personality in Czech pedagogy today. It aims to elaborate on those of Hessen's ideas which are at the heart of his concept of pedagogy and of the university as an institution, and which can provide an important frame of reference for the criticism of today’s instrumental approach to education and university reform. Gessen is presented as an ever-inspiring, timeless thinker who developed his philosophical anthropology and general theory of education on the principles of neo-Kantian critical philosophy, and as a representative of humanist educational ideals. The analysis is supplemented by a contradictory perception of Gessen's legacy in the Czech pedagogical environment, which has been negatively impacted by the social and political conflicts of the 20th century. The study employs theoretical analysis of primary and secondary sources, as well as hermeneutic-interpretive methods.

Lecturers, teachers, and students often consider students majoring in indigenous languages in Ghana as academically weak. However, some students still pursue it as a major in the Colleges of Education in Ghana. The present study investigates the attitude of student teachers majoring in an indigenous language Akan in the Colleges of Education in Ghana. To do so, three colleges, namely, St. Joseph's College of Education, Abetifi Presbyterian College of Education, and Fosu College of Education, were purposefully selected. A total of 212 students comprising 101 males and 111 females were recruited for the study. The data were quantitatively analyzed. The results showed that most participants have a positive attitude toward the study of Akan in general at the College of Education level. Similarly, student teachers' attitude toward majoring in Akan was positive since the overwhelming majority are not perturbed by the stigma associated with studying the Akan language in general. Finally, although a slight majority believed that they would allow their loved ones to pursue Akan in the future, other responses indicated participants had diverse opinions. This attitude will go a long way to change the negative perceptions others have about the study of indigenous languages in Ghana.

The study analyzes action research in educational practice and its contribution to the quality of education. The author describes the difference between action research and the random application of methods, tools, or non-standard procedures in a teacher's work and analyzes teachers 'views on action research, as well as teachers' attitudes to research.

Professionals, together with the public, pay attention to the growing negative display of the children's and youth's behavior that can be nowadays encountered at the elementary and secondary schools. The character of undesirable behavior display ranges from difficulties manageable by standard pedagogical measures up to such behavioral disturbances which, due to its dangerousness for the disturbance bearer and his surroundings as well, eliminate the individual from the normal social relations. In the following text, attention is paid to the behavioral problems at schools nowadays that are not a phenomenon only in the Czech school system but also in the international context.

One of many alternatives available for teaching is inquiry-based teaching. In this type of teaching, the student is in the role of a researcher and the teacher in the role of the creator of learning activities and in certain phases also a guide for students. The aim of this study was to map the opinions and experiences of teachers with inquiry-based teaching and its implementation into secondary vocational education teaching. The research methodology was based on a questionnaire survey among secondary school teachers with the largest representation from the Nitra region. The results show that although awareness of inquiry-based teaching reaches 55% among the teachers, the practical implementation is low.

The presented study has a theoretical-empirical character. The theoretical part of the study defines the basic theoretical characteristics of pedagogical communication. Subsequently, there is a detailed theoretical analysis of non-verbal communication and its application to the university educational process. Theoretical definitions and characteristics are used as a background for the empirical research of the mentioned issue. There is empirical research of non-verbal communication in the university educational process in the empirical part of the study. Data collection was realized by the prepared questionnaire. Empirical research has a quantitative design of research. The analysis of the collected data was realized by the results of bivariate and univariate data analysis in the statistical software SPSS 20. The main aim of the study is the analysis of the haptic area in the non-verbal communication used by a university teacher in the university educational process.

This paper deals with the motivation for choosing English teaching as a profession. The objective is to determine the impact of motivation on academic achievement by measuring the significance of gender. Teacher trainees (male n = 42; female n = 42; uncategorized n = 3) completed the Scale of Motivation for Choosing a Teaching Profession (SMVUP; Tomsik, 2019a) which measures eleven factors in three types of motivation – intrinsic, extrinsic, and altruistic. The scale is a validated instrument based on the globally used Fit-Choice Scale (Watt and Richardson, 2012) and adjusted to the European educational context. The quantitative analysis did not confirm any type of motivation as a significant predictor of academic achievement. However, gender was revealed as a significant motivational role in choosing TEFL as a profession. Male student teachers reached higher average scores in intrinsic and altruistic motives, compared to female teacher trainees who scored higher in extrinsic motives.

The submitted study has a theoretical character, and it approaches the preparation for (active) aging and (active) old age from three perspectives - its forms, the process of its management, and the orientation of its contents. Several sources confirm that this preparation can have manifold forms, it can take place in many types of the environment in various subjects, and it can be related to all age groups. The submitted study exclusively focuses on the educational preparation for (active) aging and (active) old age. The author presents its contents according to the age of learners.

This work focuses on the influence of the media on the education of young people in Mali. The emphasis is on the out-of-school pedagogy and informal education lessons that emerge. The objective is to emphasize the educational interests linked to the media in the education of the youth in Mali. To do this, we used the qualitative method through semi-structured interviews and documentary research. It results from the investigations that the media cannot act as educators because of their reification and because education must be interactive and retroactive. This lack of dialogue between the learner and the media concerned relegates the latter to a secondary level. In the context of out-of-school pedagogy and informal education, the media can still play a major role due to their preponderance in social processes, including education and learning. This requires an organization of media productions and a strong involvement of institutions (families, schools, etc.) for objective framing.

The study aimed on the realtionship between sexting and a safe online environment among 970 adolescents. The paper offers an analysis of selected research results, which focused on the factors determining the genesis and frequency of sexting among adolescents. At the same time, attention is focused on spreading awareness of the importance of prevention against sexting and the pitfalls of the online environment. The key finding of the research is that adolescents trust and confide their friends in the online environment more than strangers. The high correlation indicates that adolescents are careful when presenting their intimate photos online.
