This article deals with the food and drink names. Special attention is given to the peculiarities of goods names in the context of textuality. Names of the beverages and eatables verbalize all features, qualities and individual characteristics of these goods. They create the naming space that consists of four nominative components: brand, individual, genitive, and functional descriptive. These nominative components create the text of labels and packages. Four nominative components function as corresponding text information blocks. It means that food and drink names labels combine two spaces. The first space is naming that is represented with the integrated naming complex. The complex grasps four nominative components. The second space is informational that stores the necessary volume of information and creates a communicative background. The information scope is kept in the text construction. The whole volume is divided into four relevant text blocks. Together all these blocks form text boundaries which outline the text construction. This text construction is characterized with two interdependent features coexisting in the integrated naming complex such as cohesion and coherence. Cohesion is realized on the lexical level involving the mechanism of repetition which is the part of the interaction. On the other hand, the repetition may be complete (the naming unit is repeated literally) and partial (the naming unit is repeated partly). The repetition may be between nearest blocks (having common boundary) and distant blocks (without common boundary). There is some peculiarity in the structure of functional-descriptive text block which functions as a set of subblocks. These subblocks are grasped into four subblock clusters. It indicates that description of goods properties and their usage instructions are significant in the text construction of labels and packages. The results of the research broaden the set of naming units adding to word, phrase, and sentence the next unit recognized as a text.

This article deals with the problem of perfume and cosmetic names. Special attention is given to the peculiarities of names in the context of textuality. Perfume and cosmetic names verbalize all features, qualities and individual characteristics of these goods. They create the naming space that consists of four nominative components: brand, basic, genitive and functional-descriptive. It is the basic nominative component that reflects the main part of information about perfumes and cosmetic goods. Four nominative components function as corresponding text information blocks. It means that perfume and cosmetic name combines two spaces. The first space is naming that is represented with the integrated perfume and cosmetic naming complex. The complex grasps four nominative components. The second space is informational that stores the necessary volume of information and creates a communicative background. The information scope is kept in the text construction. The volume of information is divided into four relevant text blocks. Together all these blocks form text boundaries which outline the text construction. The text construction is characterized by two interdependent features coexisting in the integrated perfume and cosmetic naming complex such as discreteness and wholeness. This is a very significant cohesive factor within the text construction. Cohesion is realized on the lexical level involving the mechanism of repetition which is the part of reiteration. On the other hand, repetition may be complete (the naming unit is repeated literally) and partial (the naming unit is repeated partly). The repetition may be between nearest blocks (having common side) and distant blocks (without a common side). The result of the research broadens the set of naming units adding to word, phrase and sentence the next unit recognized as text.

The article is devoted to the analysis of linguistic dominants of Ukraine’s media image modeling during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research is conducted within the framework of a new direction of linguistics – media linguistic imageology, that in both Ukrainian and world linguistics is just beginning to develop, which determines the relevance and scientific perspective of the work. The article highlights the connection of media linguistic imageology with such neolinguistic areas as media linguistics, PR-linguistics, psycholinguistics and suggestive linguistics. The basic principles of linguistic analysis of media image texts about Ukraine are determined, the expediency of their division into two groups is argued: 1) image texts in which information is presented in order to form a positive image of Ukraine (meliorative image texts), 2) media publications which de jure are not image texts but they are such de facto, for instance, media texts about events in political, economic, social, medical and other areas that in one way or another affect the formation of a negative state image (pejorative image texts). Thus, in particular, analyzing media publications about COVID-19, the author includes materials on the development of domestic tourism and the positive aspects of distance learning to the image texts of the meliorative type. The special role of the projects "Travel around Ukraine" and "Tourist Magnets of Ukraine" for repairing the national image in media is emphasized. In turn, the author notes that despite numerous problems in the field of education, its image in the Ukrainian media is generally constructed in a positive way. In the discourse of linguistic analysis, the main image-forming markers of meliorative image texts are the use of metaphorical language, epithets, lexemes with emotionally evaluative positive connotation, new phraseology with positive semantics etc. At the same time, the author emphasizes that the pejorative image texts caused by COVID-19 are media publications about problems in medical, economic, social etc. industries. To create an atmosphere of fear, hopelessness and panic in media publications of this type, journalists use amplifying modal particles and paraphrases with negative contextual semantics etc. The author summarizes that today's media image of Ukraine is quite contradictory. In the author's belief, in the difficult conditions of a pandemic a mediator should focus on axiological and ethical principles, information hygiene and respect for recipients.

The article analyses the applied aspects of linguistic examination of social networks under conditions of hybrid threats to the national security of Ukraine. It is argued that the intensification of intercultural communications, the formation of a single geopolitical space, the activation of destructive influences on the behaviour of social network visitors have led to an increase in discursive situations that a linguist can evaluate as an expert. For these reasons, there is an urgent need to separate and legislate linguistic examination of social networks, i.e. linguistic analysis of social network discourses using an integrated approach, the results of which can be completed as an advisory opinion or forecast concerning the impact of virtual communication on socio-political activity in the real world. This type of examination has got importance under conditions of hybrid aggression of the Russian Federation, which is mainly aimed to reshape the system of values and behaviour in target audiences, though it is of a consciental nature. The expert approach is the most relevant for identifying social cyberattacks, i.e. anonymous manipulative influences on social network visitors to create chaos, panic, and mass unrest. This identification should consider the following discursive characteristics of social networks: the creation of attractive content, its coordinated distribution through public and private channels, the use of social bots, the horizontal broadcasting of narratives. As an example, it is proposed the linguistic examination of the Russian propaganda fake “anti-Semitism in Ukraine”, which purpose is to ignite ethnic agitation. Therefore, active integration of academic community into the analysis of modern threats and counteraction to them, creation of a pool of professional experts, legislative regulation of the status of linguistic examination of social networks are on the agenda.

The article deals with different types of headings with a phraseological component, which is motivated by the manipulative function of media. Thus, journalists resort to manipulation in media when they want to: (a) obscure factual information; (b) affect the mass consciousness of the Ukrainians; (c) focus on key positions of a media text. A phraseologism (as a certain verbal code of mass communication that is characterized by semantic indivisibility, integrity, emotionality and expressiveness) is used primarily to attract the attention of the recipient and to accentuate the main positions of a media text. The role of a phraseologism in the heading of a media text is very high: it is able to succinctly convey the meaning of the main text, motivate the recipient to perceive the material, be apt in the role of media nomination of the phenomenon described. In the context of information competitiveness, the chosen phraseologism-heading helps the media text to be noticed and read by the potential recipient. An attempt is made to classify phraseologisms-headings as the dominant of modern media texts by several criteria (structure, functions and genre affiliation). Such classification was made possible by the broad illustrative material: Ukrainian printed and electronic media, radio and television, advertising, the Internet (2019 – early 2020). Emphasis is made on the correction of the proposed classification due to the expansion of information space and the emergence of new genres with headings of new types. It is proved that a phraseologism-heading in media is used for: attracting the attention of the recipient, focusing on key information, clarifying on some facts, activating the background knowledge of the recipient, pre-comprehension and understanding the text, influencing the mass consciousness. The key goal of a phraseologism-heading remains manipulation. A phraseologism-heading is increasingly used by journalists in modern media communication.

The article analyzes syntactic potential of constructing the image of Ukraine in modern mass media. The author argues for the need to apply a comprehensive approach to the analysis of language tools of image construction. In particular, the scholar emphasizes the importance of exploring different types of image media texts that are the main carriers of image information about the country. The scientist’s attention is focused on the ambivalence of most image texts, which, depending on the author's intention, subjective interpretation of the information covered can have both a positive and a negative impact on the state image. The paper consistently proves that the features of constructing the image of Ukraine are most clearly revealed at the syntactic level, which is explained by the specific intonation of the phrase, the emotional-evaluative nature of the presentation of the material, etc. The image potential of different types of oppositions, where the first component forms a positive state image and the second component contributes to the formation of a negative image of Ukraine, is analyzed. Moreover, a highly productive syntactic tool for shaping the image of the country is syncrisis based on contextual opposition. Equally effective in the process of constructing the state image is the use of expressive syntax. Thus, in particular, the use of rhetorical exclamations in image media publications with meliorative meaning contributes to the construction of a positive state image. At the same time, rhetorical questions introduced into the image text often have pejorative semantics and thus form a negative image of Ukraine. In addition, effective syntactic means of creating state image in media are anepiphor, parceling and antiphrase statements that emphasize the author's attitude to the events described. The conducted research convinces that the syntactic system of language represents a wide palette of expression of author’s modality, subjective-evaluative interpretation of information and, as a result, the image of the state that is formed in the mass consciousness.

The paper introduces the most relevant issues of linguistic imageology. In particular, the author focuses on the problem of forming successful image strategies as a set of verbalised image actions aimed at creating a positive image of a country in media. The prospects of the investigated problem are evidenced by numerous scientific explorations conducted in the last decade in leading European and Asian scientific centers. In this study, the scholar explores the works of Spanish linguists (P. Rodriguez, A. Santana Talavera, A. Rodriguez Darias etc.) devoted to the problem of developing the so-called "strategic codes" of successful state image. It is stated that the appeal to subconscious, emotional, mythical and cultural codes is the most effective, which is explained by powerful suggestive potential of modern media. Therefore, in media discourse the author proposes to analyze symbolic association code that is able to relate in the recipient's consciousness a particular symbolic object/precedent phenomenon to the country to which it belongs, particularly, Ukraine. In this context, the author considers linguistic specificity of representation of Ukraine's symbolic figures in state image strategies, primarily, in the image strategy of appealing to values, which is based on axiological principles. The thesis about powerful image forming potential of mathematical (M. Ostrogradsky, G. Voroniy, M. Viazovska) medical, biological (I. Mechnikov, D. Zabolotny, O. Bogomolets, V. Vernadsky, O. Brovarets, M. Rodnina) and other Ukrainian scientific schools is argued. A wide arsenal of linguistic tools used by media to create effective image texts is analyzed. The main image forming markers in such publications are, as a rule, emotionally-evaluative epithetical, metaphorical and peripheral constructions with distinctly positive semantics. Summing up the results, the author concludes that there is a need for professional linguistic analysis of image texts about Ukraine in modern media. In this context, media linguistic imageology, that is able to explain linguistic mechanisms for constructing effective image texts, seems to be one of the most promising research directions of modern neolinguistics.
(P. Rodriguez, A. Santana Talavera, A. Rodriguez Darias等)致力于开发成功国家形象的所谓“战略代码”问题的作品。

The main image forming markers in such publications are, as a rule, emotionally-evaluative epithetical, metaphorical and peripheral constructions with distinctly positive semantics. Summing up the results, the author concludes that there is a need for professional linguistic analysis of image texts about Ukraine in modern media. In this context, media linguistic imageology, that is able to explain linguistic mechanisms for constructing effective image texts, seems to be one of the most promising research directions of modern neolinguistics.","PeriodicalId":34830,"journal":{"name":"Aktual''ni problemi ukrains''koi lingvistiki teoriia i praktika","volume":"62 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90119402","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Globalization processes of the information era, mediatization of modern society make it possible to apply to image new methods of analysis. Since today’s state image is formed in media space, media linguistic area of image research seems to be one of the most promising. The relevant problem is connected with formation of effective image strategies, which we define as complex image actions, tactics, technologies etc. aimed at creating a successful image. The article analyzes innovative scientific investigations on image issues of leading world (A. Cheddad, J. Condell, K. Curranand, P. McKevitt, P. Diaz Rodriguez) and Ukrainian (H. Shevchenko, I. Kysarets, I. Lysychkina, O. Dobrozhanska, V. Fedorova) linguists. The author focuses on media discourse of image studies (works by V. Chekalyuk, I. Valevska etc.). It is postulated that media linguistic aspect of imageology is only developing and is considered mainly in the context of suggestive linguistics. The image potential of emotional-evaluative constructions, therapeutic metaphors / texts, reclamation lexems, verbalizers with positive semantics etc is determined. According to the author’s argumentation, such language formulas have strong suggestive properties. The linguistic component of state image strategies implementation is analyzed. The author states that in Ukrainian media space the strategies of positive self-presentation, highlighting uniqueness and appealing to values can be quite effective. The scholar studies the linguistic resource of image publications about Ukraine on official government pages in social networks (Facebook and Twitter). The author systematically proves that image strategies in modern communication achieve maximum effect when verbal communication is accompanied by visualization of image symbols, situations and associations. Thus, an effective image mark is created, where there is a sublimation of meaning and expression, which can be considered a certain suggestive ideal in modern media.
(H. Shevchenko, I. Kysarets, I. Lysychkina, O. Dobrozhanska, V. Fedorova)对形象问题的创新科学研究。

In honor of the 200th anniversary of P. Kulish's birth, the article offers a multi-level comparison of autobiographies of two prominent Ukrainian writers of the 19th century. In the categories and concepts of modern literary criticism, the hypothesis of literary influence of T. Shevchenko on P. Kulish's perception of artistic autobiography genre is checked and confirmed. For this purpose, three texts are compared: an autograph of "Autobiography" by T. Shevchenko, deeply edited by P. Kulish for printing in "People's Reading" journal, a version of T. Shevchenko's "Autobiography" and an autobiography "My Life" by P. Kulish. The comparison is carried out at narratological, compositional, genre and intertextual levels. The historical background of the creation of each of the texts is analyzed. It is proved that the autograph of T. Shevchenko's "Autobiography" and P. Kulish's "My Life" both belong to the genre of artistic autobiography and have a compressed narrative structure. It is confirmed that T. Shevchenko didn't have extra-literary reasons for creating a third-person autobiography, unlike P. Kulish, who, moreover, was very likely to come under the literary influence of the text of T. Shevchenko and developed T. Shevchenko's narrative structure in his artistic autobiography. At the same time, it is assumed that literary influence might not be the main argument in choosing a third-person narration, since there were extra-literary reasons for keeping P. Kulish's incognito. It is noted that the text "My Life" of P. Kulish is more functional in the aspects of orientation to objectivity, emotional pressure and moderation of the author's image in literary life. Its narrative structure is compressed precisely for the sake of objectivity, addressees and consignees are implicit and difficult to isolate on each of the layers of the narrative structure precisely to mimic the non-fiction. The text of a letter to the author integrated into "My Life" is the only exception. It is concluded that hypothesis about literary influence of T. Shevchenko on P. Kulish within the genre of artistic autobiography is reliable and well-reasoned. To the author's mind, further studies should focus on finding evidence of unconscious literary influence of T. Shevchenko on P. Kulish in other genres, chances of discovering which in future are rather high.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the complex process of evolution of Panteleimon Kulish's worldview. Panteleimon Kulish was a polyphonic personality who left in the history of the Ukrainian culture the heritage of a writer, publisher and translator. P. Kulish's epistolary and creative work are investigated in the categories of E. Erickson's theory, which has become an intellectual matrix for understanding the processes of a subject's development in certain psychosocial conditions and circumstances. In E. Erickson's theory of identification the article analyses the epistolary of Panteleimon Kulish – an outstanding Ukrainian culturologist, publisher, writer and translator. The author states that E. Erickson's theory created the intellectual matrix of a person's development analysis in the system of psychosocial conditions and circumstances. The scholar studies E. Erickson's main postulate, namely the correlation of a personality with psychosocial identity. The stages of evolution of P. Kulish's national self-consciousness (from assertion of slavophilе positions in his youth to evolutionary extension of the author's worldview) are considered. Accordingly, the dominant of the artist's Ukrainian-centricity, enrichment of his worldview with European ideas, ideals, cultural facts and, as a consequence, a formed outlook with understanding of the identification perspective of the nation in European history and culture are analyzed. The major problem in the analysis of P. Kulish's creative person is the problem of ethnic identification. The article explores the criteria of P. Kulish's ethnic identification: existential choice, ways of self-realization, achievement of internal freedom, solving individual-psychological problems of belonging to a certain social strata, realization of a person's powerful intentions in the national language. The analytics of the article is based on P. Kulish's epistolary that is a representative form of the author's communication with the leading writers and public figures of the Slavic world in the middle of the 19th century. The epistolary enables to build a panorama of ideas and concepts that have been developed by intellectuals in the context of analyzing the problem of national identity.
