After a brief description of two intermediate theories, transition theory developed by Afaf Ibrahim Meleis and uncertainty management theory in healthcare by Merle H. Mishel, the article illustrates their concrete use in healthcare practice. To this end, two clinical situations in pediatrics are presented, for each of which the needs of the patient, his or her family and environment are identified, followed by proposals for nursing interventions based on these theories.

In Canada, and particularly in Quebec, the development of a research culture in nursing is booming, both in general and advanced practice. In this illustrated study, the perspective of a hybrid administrative and humanistic conceptual model is used to understand a staffing plan for nurses and caregivers in a private seniors' residence in Quebec City. Based on this qualitative research, it is possible to examine the under-representation of the nurse-caregiver's role in these settings.

Eminently essential to nursing and nursing science, the four concepts of person, environment, health and care enable us to give meaning to the discipline, situate it, link it to theories, question it and help it evolve. What does it mean in terms of posture to be the surgeon's close collaborator? What does the profession's scope of activity cover?

Telemedical monitoring of heart failure patients is revolutionizing the traditional approach to care, thanks to the crucial role played by nurse consultants. Based on two years' experience in a telemonitoring unit, where the practice model is outside the conventional nursing context, we aim to highlight this innovative method, which is helping to improve the care and benefits of patients with chronic pathologies. This patient-centered approach offers holistic, individualized care through personalized remote monitoring, fostering a relationship of trust and encouraging patient autonomy.

The operating theatre is a place dedicated to the cult of asepsis, which demands vigilance and discipline from the professionals who work there at all times. The scrub nurse plays an essential role in guaranteeing the quality and safety of care. In order to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to practice this specialty, a complementary post-graduate training program has been created. Over the years, this training has been regularly updated in response to technological developments and advances in surgery. Today, scrub nurse training is university-based.
