To meet this imperative, ecological planning of the healthcare system is emerging as a key strategy promoted by public authorities.
Reducing environmental impact in hospitals means taking action across all activities: sustainable catering, energy efficiency, chemical-free cleaning, optimized waste sorting, and responsible purchasing. Simple, effective initiatives improve quality of life at work and the climate while maintaining healthcare safety.
The low prevalence of contraception in sub-Saharan Africa is due to barriers to healthcare and cultural constraints. Women face stigma and limited access to modern contraceptives. Community education is needed to normalize contraceptive use, along with the expansion of healthcare facilities, targeted research, and the involvement of men in family planning.
