An Improved Salp Swarm Algorithm Based on Spark for Feature Selection 基于Spark的改进Salp群特征选择算法

Salp swarm algorithm (SSA) is a population-based optimization technique with excellent performance. However, due to the lack of inertial parameters, this algorithm lacks the ability to find the global search for potential solutions. In this paper, we present an improved SSA algorithm based on spark(Spark-BSSA), which takes advantages of the improved global search ability of BSSA and combines with the spark programming mode. Experimental results demonstrated that as the number of cluster nodes increases, the running time of the algorithm decreases. At the same time, the proposed method is evaluated using the real data sets and compared with the binary gentic algorithm (BGA), the binary particle swarm algorithm (BPSO) and the binary gravity search algorithm (BGSA). The method has also higher classification performance and better stability of classification accuracy. Through experimental data analysis, the ultimate goal is to solve the problems of premature convergence and optimality in the original algorithm.

The Practice Strategy for Adaptive Chinese Grammar Learning System 适应性汉语语法学习系统的实践策略

The purposes of this study are to implement a new grammar practice strategy for elementary-level Chinese second language learners by an Adaptive Chinese Grammar Learning System (ACGLS) and evaluate its effect upon the grammar learning. The strategy, based on the Classical Test Theory, the Item Response Theory and the Dynamic Assessment Theory, enables the system to evaluate learners’ mastery degree as well as learning potential and most of all, to provide them with adaptive learning materials. Experimental Results showed that this strategy can make an effective impact on the grammar learning with the support of ACGLS.

Incorporating IoT and Data Analytics in an Introductory Programming Course 将物联网和数据分析纳入入门编程课程

Jupyter Notebooks have been increasingly used in education and data science. They can be easily deployed in the cloud and the technology is compatible with a variety of programming languages. This paper discusses the integration of Jupyter Notebooks in an Introduction to Programming course. The initial programming course in the College of Engineering and Information Systems was taught using Python with labs and assignments performed using the IDLE Integrated Development Environment. A new course was developed using Jupyter Notebooks focusing on introductory programming concepts and data analytics in the Internet of Things. In the new design, each student received an Arduino kit to run experiments for a course project while using Jupyter Notebooks to learn basic programming skills. The data gathered from the Arduino was analyzed with Python’s data analytics modules. The combination of real world application in IoT and the ease of use with Jupyter Notebooks resulted in higher pass rates and student satisfaction.

Short-Term Highway Traffic Flow Forecasting Based on XGBoost 基于XGBoost的公路交通流短期预测

With the rapid development of urban intelligent transportation system, the prediction short-term of traffic flow attracts more and more attention. As the lack of the characteristics of traffic flow and appropriate models, the accurate predction of the traffic flow are facing a big challenge. A short-term traffic flow prediction model based on extreme gradient rise is proposed in this paper. The experiment results reveal the superiority of the modle by comparing with the traditional prediction model.

Practice research of classroom teaching system based on Kinect* 基于Kinect的课堂教学系统的实践研究

With the rapid development of network information technology, the traditional teaching methods have also ushered in a variety of development models. The natural interactive teaching assistant system based on network has been paid much attention to by all walks of life. This paper introduces Kinect-based motion-sensing technology into classroom teaching and realizes the teaching function by establishing gesture recognition. This method has the characteristics of novel form, flexible method, and low cost, which can effectively improve the teaching quality and has a wide application prospect. This new auxiliary teaching mode is not only flexible in teaching methods, but also easy for the interaction between teachers and students.

Different Perspectives on Students’ Presentation Skills: Teacher, Peer, Team And Self-Assessment 学生演讲技巧的不同观点:老师、同伴、团队和自我评估

This paper presents a research on different perspectives of students’ presentation skills. It analyses results from self-assessment, team assessment, peer assessment and teacher assessment of students’ oral presentations on a topic of interest from the field of information and communication technology (ICT). Students and teacher qualitatively and quantitatively assess several presentation elements. The first goal of this research is to analyze differences between perceived quality of oral presentations from teacher’s and students’ point of view, while students assess their own and other students’ presentations. The second goal is to check the concordance of student’s perception on their own presentation and presentations of their team members and peers with teacher’s perception. Based on research results, the paper discusses a method for assessment of student’s presentation effort within a team assignment, which is its main contribution. The goal of the proposed method is to motivate students to participate and focus on other students’ presentations and learn through the process. The research also covers an anonymous survey which helps understand students’ opinion on the used assessment method. This method aims to raise students’ objectivity and awareness of positive and negative elements of their own and other students’ work.

Research on The Relationship between Air Pollution and College Students' exam Scores 大气污染与大学生考试成绩的关系研究

The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of air pollution on college students' exam scores. In the experiment, a control environment of whether the air is purified or not was set up. In the two environments, 160 freshmen from a top 20 university in China took the CET-4, which is commonly taken by Chinese college students. By analyzing the air pollutants concentration and the students' scores, this study explores the relationship between the changes of pollutants' concentration and the changes of scores, and explores the influence of pollutants' concentration on the score prediction. The results show that air pollution does affect students' exam scores. After adding the air pollutants concentration data, the score prediction accuracy of the reading comprehension questions which need a longer time to think about is significantly improved.

The advent of the information age has brought rapid development and progress to all walks of life in society. In this trend, information technology has gradually integrated into the education industry, and combined with various disciplines has brought a qualitative leap to education. Educational researchers and front-line teachers are currently paying attention to research topics. The physics experiment in the physics course is an important part of students' physics learning. However, in actual teaching, many middle schools have poor teaching effects due to limited experimental conditions and cannot meet the learning needs of each student. Virtual reality VR technology, as a technology with a wide imagination space function, can construct and produce physical phenomena that are difficult to observe in reality. This article attempts to design virtual reality (VR) technology for the application of physics experiments, and hopes to explore the value of virtual reality technology in physics experiment teaching.

A Study of Evaluation of Vision Training System to Prevent Mild Cognitive Impairment 预防轻度认知障碍的视觉训练系统评价研究

Scientists have long purported a connection between function vision and dementia: for example, deficits in visuospatial cognition are a common symptom of Alzheimer’s disease. Recently, we have seen an increase in the researches aiming to detect dementia early through the quantification of brain processes involved in stereopsis in humans [9]-[10]. In this study, we developed two 3D visual training tasks, involving depth perception and eye movements, and analyzed how regional cerebral hemodynamics changed during their performance utilizing functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). The 3D-vision training paradigm comprised two tasks, train the predictive ability and short-term memory and present them using stereoscopic content. This combination resulted in an overall rise in blood flow/neural activation in specific regions throughout the brain, especially those in the parietal and occipital cortex implicated in visuospatial processing and cognition.
