Based on wholesale price contracts, we build a three-echelon supply chain consisting of a supplier, a manufacturer and a retailer, where the manufacturer as the focal firm is faced with two-sided (import and export) exchange rate volatilities and chooses it import and export wholesale prices, followed by the downstream retailer's and upstream supplier's simultaneously decided purchase and supply quantities. With the model equilibrium, we study the impacts of those two-sided exchange rate volatilities and their correlation structure on the variances (volatilities) of the supply chain members' operations decisions, their expected profits and the corresponding variances. The comparative statics results show that (1) When those two-sided exchange rate volatilities are negatively correlated, the variances of the supply chain members' operations decisions, their expected profits and the corresponding variances increase in the import (export) exchange rate volatility; (2) When those two-sided exchange rate volatilities are positively correlated, there exists a critical level of the import (export) exchange rate volatility such that the variances of the supply chain members' operations decisions, their expected profits and the corresponding variances decrease for lower levels of volatility and increase for higher levels, implying a U-shaped risk transmission. These results theoretically explore how two-sided exchange rate volatilities are transmitted in supply chains and highlight the key role of the correlation structure in two-sided exchange rate risk transmission.

The paper focuses on, in academic, to the problem of emission permits and trading on the optimal production policy supported by Government subsidies. The influence and the differences between Government quotas and subsidies ways are analyzed, The firm production models considering government subsidies way and emission permits and trading are constructed, the minimum purification level theorem is proved. Then the optimal purification level is calculated, the relationship between the optimal production and optimal revenue is explored, the simulation result are conformed with the analysis given, and the firm optimal production management in such supporting way is discussed.

The main contribution of this paper is to use an integrated approach to propose the model of strategic alliances for both heterogeneous property and casualty insurance companies and security companies, and propose the added seventh business functions “business expansion” with a value chain and contracting strategies associated with the value chain analysis to satisfy the consumer's integrated service. This paper also analyses the past consumer's questionnaire results in fire insurance and fire security protection, uses a structural equation modeling approach to explore a company's questionnaire/interview results to support the model, and concludes the factors that influence the strategic alliances by the integrated approach. This reasoning gives rise to six reasonable correlation hypotheses to propose six propositions in terms of three managerial implications.

Benchmarking is a powerful tool to provide organizations performance. Since the past several years German hospitals are facing several reforms to lower their costs and raise their performance; especially logistics services e.g. patient transport or catering logistics are appropriate and necessary to improve. The German research project BELOUGA develops a new Benchmarking approach for logistics services based on three case studies patient transport logistics, medical goods supply and operation personnel resource scheduling to reveal potentials for increasing hospitals performance. The paper shows the research status quo.

In the medical, small shifts or changes that occur can to affect the final results. Since each patient is different, they pose different risks that will affect the doctor's performance during surgery. This study is uses the Logistic model and the Cox model to compare performance. From the simulation Analysis method, we found that the Cox model can quickly find the patient's abnormal conditions. Thus, using this method doctors can make earlier detection of patients with abnormal conditions.

Risk management in outsourcing is now being considered to be a key competitiveness differentiator in an outsourcing project management's success (Hutchins and Gould 2004; Kliem 2004). Risk management of outsourcing attempts to reduce the possibility of negative outcomes on the outsourcing project, which in turn could increase the likelihood of an improvement in the end product quality; thus giving the organization a competitive advantage. This paper reviewed the relevant literature in outsourcing risk management to identify ten key risks in outsourcing. The paper shows that risks can increasingly originate from multiple sources, affect multiple agents with divergent perspectives and thus become a systemic cycle.

In this paper, we consider a single-product, single-period inventory model where the retailer can order from three different suppliers. Supplier 1 is the cheapest but the most unreliable as the retailer may not get as many as he ordered. Supplier 2 is more expensive than supplier 1 by offering a supply option. supplier 3 is the most expensive but most reliable and will serve as an emergency supplier. Employing a loss-aversion utility function, we study the procurement problem for the retailer. In this model, the loss-averse retailer has to decide the order quantity from supplier 1 and reserve the order quantity from the supplier 2. We find that there exists an optimal solution no matter whether the retailer is loss-averse or not. We show by numerical experiments how the optimal decisions are affected by cost parameters, and find that the optimal order quantity from supplier 1 increases by the degree of loss-aversion while the reserve quantity from supplier 2 changes in a reverse way. Furthermore, the expected utility of the retailer decreases by the degree of loss-aversion.

This study aims to improve measurement of regional innovation capacity and assess regional innovation capacity of 31 provinces and cities in China. Use of factor analysis provided an empirical validation of measurement of 33 indicators of regional innovation capacity. Three factors were extracted and named as innovation input, innovation out and innovation environment. The result was a set of measurements index that could be used to assess resources and performance of regional innovation capacity on key dimensions, which could result in more efficient and more effective public policy set by government. In the end, innovative capacity of 31 provinces and cities in China were evaluated and compared, we found there were the significant spatial difference among them.

Modeling of Roles, Collaborations and Interactions are most crucial issues towards analysis and design of effective Multi-Agent System (MAS) dynamics. In this paper, a graph-based specification called, Multi-Agent System Architecture Graph (MASAG) has been proposed to model such dynamic aspects of MAS. MASAG includes two components, namely, Agent Collaboration Graph and Agent Interaction Graph towards analysis and design of role-based agent collaborations and agent interactions respectively. Several properties of MASAG components shows that the proposed approach will be effective towards the design of varieties of dynamic facets related to the design of complex agent oriented system.

Project management plays an important role in successful completion of construction projects. One trend in the construction sector is a growing emphasis on project management. Ineffective integration of project management of project-based enterprises and operational processes of project owners, contractors and consultants prevents synergistic effects and causes resource waste and management inefficiency. Contemporary service theories, specifically service science and service-dominant logic, elucidate the involvement of clients in the creation of value and reinforce the nested relationship between project management service providers and clients. This study expands understanding of service theories by complementing service systems from project management and proposes a new framework for project management service systems, embedding service exchange and value co-creation in the construction processes. Research outcomes represent the importance of project management embedded with service theories in the construction industry and suggestions of research questions for future work.
