The Wide Area Monitoring System (WAMS) is an effective monitoring system that must be used in the electricity system due to the ever-increasing issues it faces. Considering that Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) can deliver synchronized Phasor Measurement Units of voltages and currents in real-time at widely various locations is important. This paper studies the optimal allocation of PMUs in order to achieve a fully operable system utilizing Discrete Water Cycle Optimization (DWCO) with minimal number of PMUs and initial investment. In radial power systems the PMUs allocation can be applied directly. On the other hand, PMUs allocation on power system mesh, loop network needs some prearrangement before starting the process. One of the mythologies, which can be used in preparing the system is the tree search method using shortest path. The PMUs optimal allocation takes place utilizing two different methodologies which are tree search method with shortest path and discrete water cycle algorithm. These algorithms were tested on IEEE-14 and IEEE-30. As the PMUs number is reduced, the data capacity will be reduced. The models’ results are satisfied specially for Water Cycle Optimization.

In this paper, the study of the behavior of wind turbines and its power generation in Germany that an important source for renewable energy is investigated. This work develops a deep learning recurrent neural model that depends on time series modeling to predict the power generation of wind turbines (WT) in every ten mins in a daily basis, and seasonal behavior. The proposed model uses previous historical power data from the turbines and the dependency of short-term points and long-term behavior that common in time series with its probabilistic behavior. However, WT power generation depends on wind speed, torque, gearbox state, temperature that are highly correlated to power generated and WT state in generation, but time series modeling uses the historical previous power generated only to forecast the future behavior that behaves in a pattern similar to the previous corresponding time frame. The comprehensive analysis is implemented to evaluate the suggested model with previous data and then forecast the power generated in the last months of the year.

The work is devoted to the study of the effect of pinning on morphofunctional changes of forearm tissues. The studies were carried out with healthy volunteers using a special laboratory complex, the main components of which are a precision motion bench in a design with an ultrasound sensor and force transducers. The paper shows the dependences of changes in thickness of inner layers of the forearm, namely skin-fat and muscle layers, on movement and force of the ultrasound transducer clamping. Electrical impedance signal is one of the promising methods of controlling bionic devices. To exclude the influence of changes in skin-fat layer thickness on electrical impedance signal, it is necessary to find the value of electrode systems pressing force, at which the thickness of the skin-fat layer will decrease and remain constant. In this case, it is possible to obtain a repeatable pattern of electrical impedance signal, associated directly with muscle contraction. As a result of the studies, it was found that skin-fat layer elasticity is less than that of the muscle layer, because when the pressing force increases, the skin-fat layer thins first, after which the muscle layer begins to thin. The pressure exerted by the electrode system on the forearm and the associated changes in the thickness of the forearm layers should be considered when developing proprioceptive control systems for bionic devices based on electrical impedance signal registration.

This paper considers the possibility of import substitution and technical characteristics improvement of the sensor for the gas analyzer and the creation of a module adapter for the domestic producted gas sensor prototype IoffeGAS42. The conducted research shows good prospects for the use of domestic element base for the design of small-sized gas analyzers. The practically obtained transfer function of the optical gas sensor takes into account the temperature drift. Analysis of the data obtained as a result of the tests makes it possible to estimate the expected accuracy of measurements that can be provided by non-dispersive infrared gas sensors of various configurations when measuring the ambient temperature. Novel sensor temperature calibration method was introduced. The results of the development of the module adapter prototype as a part of the dimensional product prototype and the analysis of the test results are presented.

A method to recognize vehicles on an image and to determine their dynamic characteristics is considered. Control of timely determined characteristics will allow detecting violations of vehicles, including excessive vehicle weight, which leads to increased wear and damage to the roadway. For object detection the convolutional neural network is used. Hough and Canny detectors are used to determine object boundaries and wheel axles. The used vehicle model with two axles in detail is described. After detecting and determining the number of wheel axles of the vehicle, a model of vertical oscillations of the vehicle is selected by the passive method of image analysis, and based on the obtained geometric and kinematic parameters, the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle are determined.

The global trend towards the population aging makes the medical problems of the elderly, in particular falls, more significant from both moral and practical points of view. Machine learning models, the use of which is currently the main approach to the fall detection, are often trained and evaluated on data that differ from real conditions. In this paper, the performance of a previously developed radar-based fall detection system was evaluated on a test sample, which includes recordings with pet activity, appliance movements and household activity. Such movements presence a great issue because they can lead to false positive alarms.

The paper is devoted to the study of the indoor air cooling process when the heat supply from the heat carrier to the heating system is stopped. The results of the literature analysis on thermal storage capacity of a building and calculation of cooling time of premises are presented. The COMSOL Multiphysics software platform was used for modelling the cooling process and developing a number of mathematical models. The results obtained by modelling were compared with the theoretical method of determining the indoor air-cooling curve and utilized to analyze the influence of various factors on the indoor cooling process including the type of premises, presence of additional accumulated heat as well as a low power source.

This paper solves the problem of forecasting active energy complexes using autoregressive models. Forecasting in the energy business is one of the common tasks these days. Nowadays, forecasting helps with long-term strategic planning. However, different application fields and the duration of the forecast sometimes require a radically different approach, and there is no universal model and method that can equally effectively predict any result set. In this research paper, the implementation and analysis of 4 models are introduced: Simple Autoregressive Models (AR), Moving Average Models (MAq), Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average Models (ARIMA), and Seasonal AutoRegressive Integrated and Moving Average Models (SARIMA).

The article discusses algorithms for optimizing the transformation stage of the ELT process, built on the basis of procedures in the PostgreSQL DBMS and the parallelization mechanism implemented by the Python programming language tools. As a basis for comparison, the most trivial version of the data conversion process was taken, which consists in a sequential connection of each individual procedure. The first proposed algorithm uses the principle of the simplest parallelization of procedures, which allows you to perform independent procedures in parallel. The second algorithm is an improved version of the first one. It uses the principle of step-by-step optimization with additional parallelization of chain blocks of dependent procedures. As the main criterion for evaluation, the time of execution of the entire chain of procedures was taken. As a result of the study, it was determined that the improved version of the procedure parallelization algorithm shows the shortest execution time of the entire chain of the data transformation step.

The increase of transmitting devices around leads to the fact that increasing the dynamic range in receivers is becoming more and more important part of the development and design of receiving devices. The aim of the research is to study the possible methods of increasing the dynamic range of receiving devices, to carry out experiments and to evaluate the applicability of these methods. Methods to reduce nonlinear distortions in the receiving path that caused by the operation of a low-noise amplifier (LNA) in a nonlinear mode were investigated. Moreover, the method of modeling nonlinear systems with Volterra series was studied, as well as the application of Volterra series to model nonlinear systems with a polynomial model with memory for low-level signals was considered. Simulations of the receiving channel behavior was described by Volterra series that has been obtained in this work. During experiments with real signals, it was found that the nonlinear equalization effectively suppresses the nonlinear distortions of the LNA.
