As a result of the analysis of existing methods for determining the equivalent circuits parameters, it was ascertained that not taking into account the initial data from the intermediate slip range 1 > s > smax when synthesizing equivalent circuits for induction motors with one- and especially dual-circuit rotor leads in some cases to the appearance of "humpback" or dips in their starting characteristics. The paper proposes a hybrid parameter estimation method for a T-shaped single-loop equivalent circuit of an induction motor with a squirrel-cage rotor, based on a combination of iterative algorithm, associated with the solution of a nonlinear algebraic equation system (basic algorithm), and numerically more stable non-iterative calculations. The need to use the non-iterative method is associated with the violation of resistance and inductive reactance ratio of the rotor circuit for certain types of induction machines at nominal slip and at slip s = 1, as well as with the problems of obtaining a global extremum when solving nonlinear algebraic equation systems. The performance of the proposed method has been tested for all high-voltage induction motors of thermal condensing power plants power units auxiliaries with rated power of 200 MW and 300 MW, as well as a power unit of a combined-cycle thermal power plant with a rated power of 450 MW.

This paper solves the problem of forecasting active energy complexes using autoregressive models. Forecasting in the energy business is one of the common tasks these days. Nowadays, forecasting helps with long-term strategic planning. However, different application fields and the duration of the forecast sometimes require a radically different approach, and there is no universal model and method that can equally effectively predict any result set. In this research paper, the implementation and analysis of 4 models are introduced: Simple Autoregressive Models (AR), Moving Average Models (MAq), Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average Models (ARIMA), and Seasonal AutoRegressive Integrated and Moving Average Models (SARIMA).

The global trend towards the population aging makes the medical problems of the elderly, in particular falls, more significant from both moral and practical points of view. Machine learning models, the use of which is currently the main approach to the fall detection, are often trained and evaluated on data that differ from real conditions. In this paper, the performance of a previously developed radar-based fall detection system was evaluated on a test sample, which includes recordings with pet activity, appliance movements and household activity. Such movements presence a great issue because they can lead to false positive alarms.

The paper is devoted to the study of the indoor air cooling process when the heat supply from the heat carrier to the heating system is stopped. The results of the literature analysis on thermal storage capacity of a building and calculation of cooling time of premises are presented. The COMSOL Multiphysics software platform was used for modelling the cooling process and developing a number of mathematical models. The results obtained by modelling were compared with the theoretical method of determining the indoor air-cooling curve and utilized to analyze the influence of various factors on the indoor cooling process including the type of premises, presence of additional accumulated heat as well as a low power source.

In this paper, the study of the behavior of wind turbines and its power generation in Germany that an important source for renewable energy is investigated. This work develops a deep learning recurrent neural model that depends on time series modeling to predict the power generation of wind turbines (WT) in every ten mins in a daily basis, and seasonal behavior. The proposed model uses previous historical power data from the turbines and the dependency of short-term points and long-term behavior that common in time series with its probabilistic behavior. However, WT power generation depends on wind speed, torque, gearbox state, temperature that are highly correlated to power generated and WT state in generation, but time series modeling uses the historical previous power generated only to forecast the future behavior that behaves in a pattern similar to the previous corresponding time frame. The comprehensive analysis is implemented to evaluate the suggested model with previous data and then forecast the power generated in the last months of the year.

During the operation of water treatment plants at thermal power plants with combined cycle gas turbines, colonies of microorganisms are formed, which negatively affect the operation of the equipment. The types and number of bacteria depends on the source of water supply, seasonality, and water-chemical regime. The aim of the research is to analyze and quantify the bacterial contamination of a mixed-bed filter in a laboratory setup. To determine the number of bacteria and the contamination of ion-exchange resins on the mixed-bed filter unit, the following methods were used: ATP luminometry with a System SURE Plus device, evaporation and separation of a mixture of substances under reduced pressure on an IKA RV rotary evaporator and infrared spectroscopy of substances (FTIR, Shimadzu). As a result of the research, data on the number of bacteria in water samples were obtained on a laboratory installation of a mixed-bed filter, a spectral analysis of the bacteria present in the regenerative solution was carried out. The number of bacteria was determined at each stage of research. On a laboratory installation of a mixed-bed filter, the process of development of microorganisms that reduce the performance of ion-exchange resins has been revealed.

The article discusses algorithms for optimizing the transformation stage of the ELT process, built on the basis of procedures in the PostgreSQL DBMS and the parallelization mechanism implemented by the Python programming language tools. As a basis for comparison, the most trivial version of the data conversion process was taken, which consists in a sequential connection of each individual procedure. The first proposed algorithm uses the principle of the simplest parallelization of procedures, which allows you to perform independent procedures in parallel. The second algorithm is an improved version of the first one. It uses the principle of step-by-step optimization with additional parallelization of chain blocks of dependent procedures. As the main criterion for evaluation, the time of execution of the entire chain of procedures was taken. As a result of the study, it was determined that the improved version of the procedure parallelization algorithm shows the shortest execution time of the entire chain of the data transformation step.

The temperature dependence of the conductivity of a composite material with a conductive filler and dielectric matrix is calculated in this work. A qualitative model of conductivity is obtained depending on such parameters as the coefficient of linear expansion, distances between particles, particle sizes, and the difference between the Fermi energy in the conductor and the bottom of the conduction band in the dielectric. Also in this paper, a formula for the probability of a particle passing through a potential rectangular barrier is derived.

The uncoordinated charging of electric vehicles has several negative effects on the charging station and the electric network. These effects include both technical and economic aspects. So, in this paper, coordinated charging/discharging scheduling of electric vehicles in charging stations is proposed to maximize the revenue of charging stations. The problem is formulated as a linear optimization problem and is solved using the Particle swarm optimization technique (PSO). Three case studies are undertaken including uncoordinated charging, coordinated charging and coordinated charging/discharging. The results display that smart charging/discharging scheduling for the system under study increases the revenue of the charging station in comparison to the uncoordinated charging.

This paper discusses the performance of different relational databases using query analysis and optimization under different conditions. The three most popular relational databases are PostgreSQL, MySQL and MS SQL. The basic query execution time for different numbers of operators, columns, and rows was taken as the main criterion. As a result of experiments, it was determined that all databases with small amounts of stored information in the basic configuration operate in accordance with the declared performance. However, with small amounts of data, PostgreSQL is the most preferred option for use, since it is the fastest to process information. It has also been proven that MS SQL has the largest rate increment when increasing the number of columns from all databases under investigation.
