The article emphasizes the importance of tasks involving operation regimes with single-criteria to multicriteria transitions. The most important criteria for short-term and long-term operation regime optimization were defined. Mathematical model of multicriteria optimization based on economic (marginal income) and reliability (thermal power plants operational readiness factor) criteria was developed. To solve the two-criteria optimization task the mathematical method of "successive concessions" was used. Suggested model was put to test in modelling stationary operation regimes for 100 MW power unit and yielded positive results. Using the developed model will lead to increased TPP (Thermal Power Plant) competitiveness in energy marked field by reducing the fuel usage from 0.5 to 1.5%.

This paper describes a system for publishing active educational content – interactive web applications written in Python and integrated into static web pages. The system is designed for a small contingent of students and is used to publish computational web applications, e-textbooks with active content. The emphasis is on the simplicity and low labor intensity of developing and using active content in the educational process. Active Content Publication System for STEM (ACOPS) can be used as a platform for creating entry-level virtual laboratories.

Simulating natural convection in a large volume requires significant computational efforts using powerful servers. While scientific research requires high accuracy, applied engineering solution requirements for accuracy can be lowered. The aim of this article is to analyse modern methods of modelling natural convection in a large volume for solving applied problems and choosing the best method when resources are limited. In this paper we reviewed various approaches and the experience of other authors in solving similar problems and proposed a method for calculating the simulation model of the RGSn-100 storage tank with HB-6-1-3000 in-line electric heating in the ANSYS 2021 R1 Fluent. The proposed method reduces the computational effort required by a factor of ten thousand while maintaining the engineering accuracy of calculations.

In this paper, the automated ramp voltage test method for metallized film capacitors was suggested. This method was used to investigate capacitors failure reasons under high electric load. For this purpose, experimental setup and software for experimental data processing were developed. Experimental investigation method was based on high voltage testing of different metallized film capacitors types. It was found that in the case of high electric load, capacitors failure is related to dielectric resistance decreasing due to multiple breakdown events. The conditions of parametric and catastrophic failures of tested capacitors were revealed. The suggested test method also allows to conduct «soft» capacitors treatment of metallized film capacitors.

The purpose of this scientific work is to develop an algorithm for optimal encoding of WAV files using genetic algorithms, which simultaneously combines an acceptable encoding speed and a higher compression ratio of audio data than classical encoding methods. The article discusses the structure of WAV files; the principle of Huffman coding has been studied, and the process of compressing WAV files using this algorithm has been described; on the basis of Huffman coding with the help of genetic algorithms, an algorithm for optimal encoding of WAV files was developed and tested; based on the obtained results, conclusions are drawn about the work done.

In this paper, a comprehensive study has been done between the use of low-pass filters and high-pass filters in multi-terminal DC systems that depend on voltage source converters. This comparison was simulated in the MATLAB modeling program and presented in d-q coordinates. The three-level pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique was used to control the voltage source converters (VSC). This comparison was made to select the appropriate type of filters in the connection between the DC network of DESERTEC ±500 kV and the AC network in Syria that operates at a voltage of 400 kV. As a result of the test, the performance of the system consisting of four direct current terminals (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey) as well as the AC network in Syria was evaluated by using low and high pass filters.

This paper presents the analysis of distribution of a random variable of the maximum electrical load of the apartment in apartment building during the weekday in the winter season. Results of actual measurements of electrical load at the entrance to the apartment on weekdays were processed and analyzed during the research. Typical time intervals, when the maximums of electrical load were observed, were highlighted based on the obtained data. Hypotheses of distribution law of a random variable of the maximum electrical load were proposed for those intervals. In the next stage of work the results of determination of the distribution law were checked with Pearson's chi-squared test. As the result of the survey, the numerical characteristics of distribution law of the maximum electrical load were presented, as well as the time intervals, when those maximums were observed.

Silicone high-voltage insulators can be exposed to fog or rain during their operation. Water droplets appear on the silicone rubber surface and initiate partial discharges, which reduce its hydrophobicity. It is necessary to consider combined effect of the discharges and moisture. This work evaluates the hydrophobicity of a silicone rubber sample exposed to a corona discharge and then immersed in distilled water. The contact angle and the dynamic runoff of water were measured during the experiment. It is shown that the dynamic method is more sensitive than the static one. After immersion, experimental results demonstrated a longer time of water runoff from the sample on the periphery of the damaged region compared to the undamaged regions. However, the static methods show no difference between these two locations.

Wormhole Attack is one of the most serious and the most common security attacks in MANETs. In this research, the effect of Wormhole Attack on network performance, in the presence of one-tunnel then two tunnels, has been studied. A technique based on hop count analysis has been applied to evaluate its effectiveness in detecting the attack and mitigating its effects. Average Throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio and Average End-to-End Delay parameters have been used in performance evaluation. Simulation experiments using NS-2.35 show that the applied technique mitigates the impact of Wormhole Attack. The applied technique gives good results of Average Throughput and Packet Delivery Ratio. These values slightly degrade when number of attacking nodes increases. Average end-to-end delay increases when wormhole attack occurs.

the main idea of this paper is to use the finite element method (FEM) to analyze the stresses and thermal distribution that will arise from an impact with a particular heat source on a solid body. Additionally, the paper describes how to implement the Delaunay algorithm to create a 3D mesh of the solid, and how to use math modeling techniques to solve for the heat solution. This article discusses how to analyze thermal stresses on solid bodies, regardless of their shape. A generalized meshing algorithm was used to create the mesh.
