La inesperada expansión del nuevo coronavirus o COVID-19, al inicio del 2020, ha causado efectos alarmantes en todo el mundo, provocando la suspensión de diversas actividades económicas y sociales, entre ellas, los servicios bibliotecarios. Las bibliotecas públicas tuvieron que cerrar sus locales al decretarse el estado de emergencia en sus países y entrar en un periodo de confinamiento. Este panorama ha generado el extensivo uso de los servicios digitales en las bibliotecas para continuar laborando, hecho que se expone en este trabajo. Además, se indican algunas posturas de especialistas del ámbito bibliotecario latinoamericano con respecto a la situación actual. En el presente estudio se obtiene como resultado una problemática extendida en la que se indica que las bibliotecas públicas del Perú trabajan de “modo presencial” con limitados recursos, escaso personal especializado, ausencia de servicios digitales y sin visibilidad dentro de sus gobiernos locales; a pesar de esto, algunas bibliotecas han desarrollado diversas iniciativas en medio de esta pandemia. Por tanto, se muestra una serie de servicios que están brindando las bibliotecas públicas peruanas en respuesta a la crisis de la COVID-19; también se indican algunas reflexiones del ámbito bibliotecario del país y una serie de desafíos para un futuro próximo.

Universities and research institutions must face the problem of answering a myriad of science, technology, and innovation indicators, required by international, national and institutional bodies, as well as observatories, rankings, and other research universities. Therefore, there is a need for a measurement system capable of answering, efficiently and swiftly, this proliferation of indicators. Based on a literature review on research evaluation, indicators were compiled, with a special focus on Ibero-America and Colombia; the data required to answer each of these indicators were identified using qualitative data analysis; and, finally, a measurement system was designed following four conditions: conception, structure, procedures, and instruments. This system reflects the complexity of the sector, favors comparability, adapts to necessities, trends, and opportunities, and is able to produce a wide range of indicators, replacing the traditional library or list of indicators.

The theory of organizational knowledge creation presented wide acceptance and impact in the academic and professional environments, when it was published more than two decades ago, a condition that has been maintained over the years. Conceptually, it considers two dimensions, epistemological and ontological, to address how the creation of knowledge in organizations occurs. However, since its publication, the context in which the organizations are inserted has undergone profound transformations, especially with regard to the production and dissemination of information, based on advances in information and communication technologies (ICTs). The objective of this article was to revisit the theory of organizational knowledge creation, emphasizing the role of information, as registered knowledge, and of the ICT in the support to the creation of knowledge in organizations. In general, the results pointed to a wide application of ICTs in the promotion of knowledge and a rise of technological resources towards the levels of information and knowledge in the organizational sphere.

This article deals with data libraries, where bibliomining is applied data mining on large volumes of data available in libraries, as a result of the operation of major transactional systems, such as loans, referrals, acquisitions, among others. Thus, the data library is the process that aims to discover, extract and store relevant information from large databases in libraries, through the use of search programs and identification of patterns and global relationships, trends, deviations and other Indicators that can be extracted through different techniques of data mining. It is important to note that bibliometric analysis requires the participation of interdisciplinary teams formed by system engineers, statisticians and librarians.

This article aims to study the television series Muchachos al lo bien and Rostros y rastros, and their importance as an audiovisual archive and as memory documents of the city. It is based on the need to recognize the importance of video documentary production and its contribution to the construction of social representations about the life and inhabitants of Medellin and Cali in times marked by violence. Additionally, it seeks to contribute to the evaluation of the video as a significant documentary collection, which has social, communicative and aesthetic contributions, and to highlight the contribution of filmmakers who participated in the series and their training in audiovisual production.

This article presents the analysis of recensio in the novel El Zarco (1922) by the Colombian writer Tomas Carrasquilla, in the line of editing literary publications. This study is made from the theoretical-methodological approach of textual criticism, specifically, from the recensio stage, with the purpose of restoring the novel in a critical edition according to the last will of the writer. In this way, a description of the moments of the recensio will be presented, such as the search, collection, description, systematization, history and affiliation of the testimonies of the textual tradition of El Zarco, with its respective analysis and philological interpretation with the purpose of determining the relationships and transformations experienced by the different testimonies of the novel in its textual transmission or editorial history of this publication.

An analysis of scientific activity in Puerto Rico is presented, through the bibliometric characterization of the research carried out at the University of Puerto Rico, based on indicators of productivity, collaboration, visibility and impact, and research topics. The analysis is carried out from a database of own creation that collects Web of Science data subjected to an exhaustive normalization. The data corresponding to the aforementioned indicators are analyzed. The results allow to present a synoptic picture about the scientific work in the University of Puerto Rico, the data show the leadership of this institution supported by its production, the level of scientific collaboration and the visibility and impact of said production. The areas of research with the greatest potential are identified, according to the activity index, and the potential participation of this institution in the economic development of Puerto Rico is highlighted.

La Red de Bibliotecas Rurales de Cajamarca es una organizacion sin animo de lucro conformada por las familias comuneras del territorio de Cajamarca, en la sierra norte del Peru, que con los libros en el campo han logrado afianzar y extender la tradicion oral cajamarquina, la forma de vida andina y la dignidad de los pueblos chacareros y criadores. Se presentan avances del estudio de caso de la Red de Bibliotecas Rurales de Cajamarca en el Peru, con los que se pretenden reconocer las interrelaciones de la concepcion, los actores, los lugares y las acciones de esta institucion socio-cultural. The aim of this article is to investigate the process of recovery, restoration and classification of the documentary collection of Laura Montoya Upegui, better known as Madre Laura. She founded the Comunidad Misionera de Maria Inmaculada y Santa Catalina de Sena and she was canonized in 2013. The archive houses approximately 28,000 pages written by the author, among which there are all her original works. The history of the recovery of the Archive begins in 1949, when the writer dies, and since then it has been enriching and modernizing. The organization of documents are divided into the areas that involve the intellectual profile of this saint: theology, mysticism, anthropology, missiology, literature, among others. On the other hand, the archive conserves the books of her personal library, a photographic archive and the collection of books and magazines that the missionary edited and published in her own printing press, called Santa Teresita.

The archive houses approximately 28,000 pages written by the author, among which there are all her original works. The history of the recovery of the Archive begins in 1949, when the writer dies, and since then it has been enriching and modernizing. The organization of documents are divided into the areas that involve the intellectual profile of this saint: theology, mysticism, anthropology, missiology, literature, among others.
