The present study shows a systematic review of systemic thinking and its relationship with business competitiveness. The objective of the research is to determine the theoretical aspects of the dependent variable systemic thinking that are associated with business competitiveness and its dimensions. The methodology used is the systematic review of investigations. The inclusion criteria address the temporality of the investigations 2012-2022 and validate that the content is directly linked to the variables that are addressed in this investigation. The results allow conceptualizing systemic thinking and business competitiveness, as well as broadening the understanding of the incorporation of the systemic thinking method in companies; a method that analyzes and understands the elements, their interconnections, the feedback they generate, and the purpose of a system, from the perspective of cyclical dynamic analysis that promotes the projection of scenarios in the face of emerging factors. The main finding shows that the incorporation of systemic thinking in companies has an impact on the dimensions of business competitiveness, such as the development of dynamic capacities, and innovation at the first level of the relationship; at a second level, an impact on planning is observed, strategies, sustainability, through the intervention of mediating dimensions such as performance management, the correct analysis of internal and external factors, improvement in managerial skills.

Crowdfunding has emerged as a versatile funding mechanism, drawing support from diverse contributors. Sustainability has taken center stage, fostering projects that prioritize both environmental and social responsibility. The success of crowdfunding initiatives is intricately tied to the concept of social capital, where the cultivation of trust and collaboration enhances the impact of campaigns. Recognizing the growing importance of crowdfunding in advancing sustainability and acknowledging the pivotal role of social capital, this paper presents a thorough bibliometric analysis. Covering the period from 2014 to 2023, our study examines 119 documents sourced from the Scopus and Web of Science databases, employing the keywords “crowdfunding” and “social capital.” The study employs a robust methodology, utilizing Microsoft Excel for frequency examination, VOSviewer for data visualization, and Harzing Publish or Perish for citation metrics and analysis. Our findings reveal a sustained decade-long growth in publications, with Italy emerging as the foremost contributor to crowdfunding and social capital research. Following closely are China, the United States, and Germany. The analysis goes beyond mere publication metrics, identifying key authorship patterns, collaboration networks, and prolific authors. Furthermore, it sheds light on the most active institutions, preferred journals, and top-cited articles in this field. This study makes a substantial contribution to the ongoing discourse surrounding the intersection of crowdfunding, sustainability, and social capital. By addressing the motivation, literature gap, methodology, and key findings, our analysis stands as a foundational resource for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers alike, providing valuable insights for further exploration in this evolving field.

This study investigates the implementation and perception of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within the public relations (PR) industry in Poland, with a focus on PR agency employees. Using a survey distributed among 192 PR professionals, this research evaluates the role of CSR in enhancing corporate reputation and engaging stakeholders, as well as its incorporation into PR strategies. The results indicate a significant alignment between CSR and PR practices, underscoring their combined effectiveness in fostering a positive corporate image. However, the findings also reveal a gap in the widespread understanding and integration of the CSR principles within PR efforts. The study advocates for further research on effective strategies that merge CSR and PR, with the aim of increasing both the societal and economic recognition of responsible business practices.

This research aimed to describe the characteristics of the factors that influence consumer behavior in food markets and supermarkets. The study was based on the theories of consumer behavior through the approaches outlined by Maslow and Mang’unyi and Govender. The research shows the results of the study conducted on the consumers of Peruvian markets and supermarkets located in Lima, the capital of Peru. The factors that influence consumer behavior when shopping are described, such as the proximity of the establishment, friendliness, quality, family atmosphere, prices, and perception. The methodology was based on a mixed, cross-sectional, and non-experimental approach, applying surveys to 400 consumers of food markets and supermarkets. The information obtained was corroborated by interviews with market traders, supermarket stockers, and marketing and economic experts. The results of the surveys conducted indicate that there are personal, cultural, and psychological factors that influence the decision-making of consumers of food markets and supermarkets. The results showed that personal factors have the greatest impact on consumer decisions, as confirmed by the majority of the population surveyed. In conclusion, this study has contributed to a better understanding of the factors that influence consumer behavior in food markets and supermarkets. The findings obtained can be useful for merchants and entrepreneurs in designing marketing strategies and making business decisions.

The main objective of this research was to analyze the attitudes and sustainable purchasing behaviors of food products among Portuguese consumers from different generations. The study sought to identify statistically significant differences regarding ecological awareness, understanding of ecological issues, adoption of ecologically conscious purchasing habits and conscious planning of these purchases. Consequently, the research aimed to reveal sustainable attitudes and behaviors during the food purchasing process considering the generational factor. In order to achieve these objectives, a quantitative and cross-sectional study was developed based on a questionnaire adapted from Kuźniar, Surmacz and Wierzbiński (2021). Between September 2022 and the first half of January 2023, the questionnaire was applied to a non-probabilistic sample of 686 Portuguese consumers. Statistical tools such as the Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to discern statistically significant differences between two and three independent groups, respectively. The results confirm that generation is a differentiating factor of sustainable attitudes and behaviors. Obviously, the discernible existence of statistically significant differences between Generations Z, Y and X with regard to ecological awareness, ecologically oriented purchasing patterns, and the manifestation of sustainable attitudes and behaviors during food purchases serves as a robust validation of this assertion. Furthermore, it was observed that Generations X and Y exhibited congruent attitudes and behaviors, demarcating them from Generation Z. With regard to depth of understanding around ecological issues and conscious purchase planning, similar attitudes were consistently observed across the three generational spectra under analysis.

In this paper, the research is focused on the empirical study regarding the impact of financing policy on the companies’ financial performance from the pharmaceutical sector, in Europe and in the United States of America, considering that these two geographic areas were strongly involved in the supply of medicine, in the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. To identify the most representative determinants of the companies’ financial performance, from the financing policy perspective, there were investigated a series of studies from the international literature and there were formulated research hypotheses. The database consists of 466 companies, over a period of 10 years, respectively 2012-2021, cumulating a number of 4660 statistical observations, which are used to estimate multiple regression models, with panel data, unbalanced, linear, with no effects, with fixed effects or with random effects. The dependent variables, according to which the empirical models were estimated, are Return on Assets, Return on Equity and Price Earnings Ratio. The independent variables are represented by long-term indebtedness, short-term indebtedness, net debt, current ratio, effective tax rate, asset tangibility, being also used control variables such as dividend payout ratio and company size, measured by turnover and market capitalization. The results highlight, mainly, the negative influence of indebtedness on Return on Assets and Return on Equity, respectively positive influence on Price Earnings Ratio. Furthermore, the results of the empirical models are interpreted from a statistical and economic point of view, by referring to the hypotheses formulated based on previous studies.

Through the creation of clean and innovative technologies, Bioeconomics is a means of achieving sustainability. For this to happen, it needs to be incorporated into concrete social actions, gaining knowledge and social acceptance. In this sense, the main purpose of this study was to analyze the understanding and level of knowledge of Brazilian university students about Bioeconomy, understanding their expectations and the factors that explain their attitudes towards it. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and regression analysis with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics software version 28. The survey recorded 220 responses, identifying that 53.2% of the respondents were familiar with the term Bioeconomy and 47.2% had a level of knowledge classified as good or very good. In addition, a correlation was identified between the knowledge area and the place of residence of the students and their level of knowledge, with different motivations for supporting Bioeconomy, with economic motivations prevailing over socio-environmental ones. Also, it was found that the level of knowledge and support for Bioeconomy are directly correlated, so the greater the knowledge, the greater the support for it. More, even those students who don’t recognize the term Bioeconomy associate it with sustainability and the green economy. This study shows that there is a need to introduce topics related to Bioeconomy in universities and in Brazilians’ daily lives.

This study aimed to enhance the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills of faculty members in a higher education institution. The faculty’s limited proficiency in ICT impeded the integration of technology instruments across different topics. A training program was devised, executed, and assessed to tackle these problems within six months. Online courses were developed for participants under the training’s criteria. Quantitative data collection involved administering a pre-test and post-test, which were subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics. The assessed competencies encompassed the utilization of computers in instructional activities and the development and implementation of educational initiatives. The findings indicated that 75% of the faculty did not typically include technology in their instructional methods, whereas 41% recognized the potential of technology to enhance and innovate teaching practices. Only 66.67% of the participants possessed knowledge of fundamental components of computers, while the same percentage was aware of basic peripherals. Additionally, 58.33% of the participants demonstrated proficiency in installing computer programs. The program sought to enhance the educational quality and showed positive modifications in formulating strategies for integrating ICTs into the curriculum. The results showcased the efficacy of the training program in improving teaching skills in the field of information and communication technologies (ICTs), enhancing the teaching methods of faculty members, and providing the opportunity to deliver courses either fully online or in a blended format.

In today’s interconnected global scene, the importance of technology management in defining the modern economy, especially within industrial businesses, cannot be overemphasized. These companies continually invest in and incorporate new technology, encouraging innovation in both product creation and manufacturing processes. This deliberate use of technology is a tried-and-true technique for increasing operational efficiency and effectiveness while also strengthening global competitiveness by managing the risks associated with changing market demands. This study delves deeply into the complex elements that influence innovation and technology management practices in manufacturing businesses, with a particular emphasis on the Ethiopian setting. Despite the global demand for innovation, Ethiopian manufacturing enterprises have struggled to build a notable reputation in their field for pioneering inventions. This paper includes the perspectives of scholars, industry experts, consultants, and direct involvement from manufacturing firms. A cross-sectional methodology is used to collect data from several stakeholders at a certain point in time. The Pareto chart’s analytical capabilities are used to condense meaningful findings, allowing for the discovery and prioritization of impediments to manufacturing innovation. The study’s findings highlight formidable barriers to innovation in manufacturing firms, including a lack of well-defined innovation strategies, an absence of innovative leadership, a scarcity of qualified and creative talent, limited access to innovation funding, and a general lack of awareness about technological advancements and innovative best practices. These insights provide a substantial contribution to expanding the innovation environment within industrial enterprises, increasing resilience and global competitiveness.
