Agricultural Photovoltaic Systems are a key technology to achieve sustainable development goals by reducing competition between land for food and electricity. In addition, Agricultural Photovoltaic Systems are at the heart of the link between power generation, crop production and irrigation water conservation. The main ecophysiological constraint on crop production under photovoltaics is the reduction of light. It is difficult to recommend shade tolerance for some plant varieties due to insufficient information on shading conditions for most plants. The use of shading panels (photovoltaic panels) requires more crop-specific research to determine the optimal percentage of panels and their placement that will not reduce agricultural yields. Crop yield variation versus field shading and availability to maximize the system require extensive research. This study aims to develop a standard procedure for designing an agricultural grid-connected photovoltaic power generation system for solar power generation in an agricultural area in Bahteem, Egypt. The technical and annual performance of the grid-connected PV system was simulated using PV Syst software. The paper started with a pre-feasibility study of a grid-connected photovoltaic system using PV Syst. Software with an extensive database of meteorological data, including global daily horizontal solar irradiance, and a database of various renewable energy system components from different manufacturers. In this work, a comprehensive literature review of agricultural solar photovoltaic systems is conducted, with a particular focus on grid-connected systems, followed by a design procedure for grid-connected solar photovoltaic systems. The planned photovoltaic system will generate a total of 400 KWp of electricity. This generated electricity can drive down electricity prices by exporting excess electricity to the national grid. In addition, solar power systems are fuel-efficient and have a low environmental impact.

In this paper, we introduce the pyramidal robot, a novel kind of parallel cable-based robot that has been constructed and designed with five cables. Last, we suggested a control method. In this context, we studied the application of the Runge-Kutta method of fourth order for resolving the non-linear partial differential equations of our system, which is frequently employed for managing uncertainties in linear systems. The primary contribution of this study is firstly the design of a reel prototype and the creation and implementation of a graphical user interface (GUI) for displaying the position of the end effector. Second, to test the precision of the tracking of the object, we analyse the system’s response using cutting-edge methods such as predictive control. Finally, using the advanced technique proposed, we present the simulation results on this cable-based robot. These results demonstrate the performance of the technique as proposed.

Regular operation, pre-repair and repair work on tanks, as well as outflows of oil products and other flammable liquids under the influence of seismic loads, fires and explosions on tanks are the source of technogenic impact on the environment. Therefore, the influence treatment of the fluctuations and vibrations on the storage tanks for environmentally hazardous liquids and the assessment of reducing the load on nature is a very relevant scientific and practical issue to improve the environmental safety of areas adjacent to the tanks. This paper treats free and forced liquid vibrations in prismatic tanks filled with an incompressible ideal liquid. The developed method allows us to estimate the level of the free surface elevation in prismatic tanks under suddenly enclosed loadings. The proposed method makes it possible to determine a suitable place with a proper height for installation of the baffles in tanks by using numerical simulation and thus shortening the expensive field experiments. The proposed approach could be applied to various environmentally hazardous liquids. This will increase the environmental safety level of the territories adjacent to stationary tanks with environmentally hazardous liquid. It will also be possible to prevent emergencies.

This paper presents different stochastic models for entangled UWB fading channels. Closed-form canonical expressions are derived for the statistical distribution of the fading power difference of interfering independent and dependent mixture of flat-fading Rayleigh and Rician channels. The link success probability is derived in terms of the cumulative distribution function of the channel fading power differences. An alternative metric for link success rate (LSR) is developed in terms of the statistical distribution of the ratio of the diffuse powers. Under this alternative formulation, and for the case of 2 independent Rayleigh paths, the LSR statistical distribution was consistent with the heavy-tail Lomax distribution. The scope of future research includes the validation of theoretical and simulated models with real measurements on actual multi-user massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MU-mMIMO) beam-forming sub-6G physical systems.

In recent times, the need for the management and monitoring of steel structures (bridges, but also buildings) has become more and more important; consequently, a new phase has opened up aimed at the surveillance and monitoring of these structural types with the objective of their protection and preservation, also through preventive maintenance activities. Leaving aside the world of large structures (industrial buildings, bridges, etc.), the reality of metal-framed buildings in Italy is not yet strongly established. For this reason, particular attention must be paid to these types of structures. The application of experimental monitoring techniques, however, involves the succession and chaining of various established procedures. Visual inspection is generally the first step to assess any deterioration, but it becomes quite difficult for elements at significant heights. The operational difficulties can be reduced by the UAV drone. Image processing using soft computing techniques also offers the possibility of speeding up the inspection by human operators, who can limit themselves to assessing any damaged parts already selected by artificial intelligence. It is, therefore, necessary to establish appropriate automatic or semi-automatic inspection procedures mainly aimed at providing useful indications to operators on intervention priorities. An automatic monitoring and management procedure is therefore presented, which provides for the detection and evolution of degradation on structural elements and joints of existing steel structures. The implemented methodology follows five main phases: (a) images acquisition by UAVs; (b) 3D creation with geometry and degradation; (c) data processing and defect detection; (d) creation of an "evolutionary" database, able to update the degradation on the basis of the acquisitions made in subsequent inspections by UAVs; (v) implementation of the structure (with its defects) within a structural analysis software FEM (Finite Element Method).

Folded Clos networks (FCNs) play a significant role in constructing high-performance data center networks. To fully utilize the high bandwidth of FCNs, traffic load must be uniformly diffused between links. To achieve this, a method called the rebalancing algorithm was proposed. Previous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of this algorithm through theoretical analyses and computer simulations. However, its practical feasibility has not yet been elucidated. Moreover, its performance has not been confirmed in a physical experimental environment. This study demonstrates the implementation of the rebalancing algorithm on switches built on PCs using software tools supported by the Linux OS. This confirms that it is relatively easy to implement the rebalancing algorithm. In addition, the performance of the implemented rebalancing algorithm was evaluated and compared with that of its simplified version, called the balancing algorithm, as well as a conventional method, through experiments. According to the results, the rebalancing algorithm is more advantageous in avoiding traffic congestion for heavy traffic than the conventional method. It was also confirmed that the balancing algorithm performs as effectively as the rebalancing algorithm, with less processing load.

In our previous contributions [20, 21, 22], we have clearly demonstrated that the dynamic neural network concept (DNN-concept) for solving shortest path problems (SPP) and traveling salesman problems (TSP) outperforms the best heuristic methods proposed by the literature. However, in our numerous contributions and also according to the literature, the effects of the step sizes of both “decision neurons” and “multiplier neurons” on the convergence properties of the “DNN-concept” are still not investigated. The aim of our contribution is to enrich the literature by investigating, for the first time, the convergence properties of the DNN-concept for solving traveling salesman problems. We develop a mathematical model for the efficient and robust solving the traveling salesman problem (TSP). Based on the numerical study, the convergence properties of the model developed (i.e., the DNN-concept for solving TSP) is investigated. Ranges (or windows) of variation of the parameters of the developed mathematical model are determined (identified) to ensure (guarantee) the detection of the exact TSP solution/tour. In order to validate the mathematical model developed for solving TSP, a bifurcation analysis is carried out using the developed mathematical model. Various bifurcation diagrams are obtained numerically. The bifurcation diagrams obtained reveal the ranges of variation of some key parameters of the model developed to ensure (or guarantee) the convergence of the DNN-concept to the exact TSP-solution (i.e., global minimum). Concrete examples of graphs are considered and various numerical simulations are performed as proof of concept. Finally, a comparison of the results obtained with the results published in [17]-[18] lead to a very good agreement.
