Digital Competence And Intercultural Praxis Of Rural Secondary Education Teachers 农村中等教育教师的数字能力与跨文化实践

In the multicultural and interconnected society, digital technology has become an essential pedagogical tool for teachers in rural areas, whose fundamental task is to integrate digital technology into the educational context. This study analyzes and evaluates the self-perception of teachers about their digital competence and the relationship with their performance in the intercultural environment of rural secondary education. The research approach was quantitative, non-experimental descriptive-correlational design, with a sample of 192 rural secondary education teachers from Huánuco-Peru, using the survey technique through the questionnaire instrument, validated by expert judgment.  The results indicate that the digital competence and intercultural vision of teachers in rural areas is direct, on average more than 58% assume to have developed their digital competence at a high or very high level, while more than 71% have a positive perception about intercultural education; the Spearman correlation coefficient between the two variables is 0.75. It is concluded that there is a direct and complementary relationship between the development of digital competence and the interculturality of teachers, which leads to an efficient management of the teaching-learning process.

Language teaching is a difficult task for teachers since it requires the application of proper strategies and methods to achieve efficient language learning. This study aims to evaluate how university pre-service teachers learned languages and how they engaged in language learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic. 100 University pre-service teachers for the second semester of the academic year 2020–2021 took part in this research. To comprehend the factors, the researcher performed analysis. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the profile variables and interpret the acquired data, including frequency counts, student data, mean, and standard deviation. The respondents' significant mean scores when categorized according to their profile were examined using sample T-test and ANOVA. Through Google Forms, significant data were gathered and recorded. With a categorical mean of 4.32 (sd=0.05) and a descriptive interpretation of Very High, the findings indicate that Teacher-Modelling Items are the preferred learning method for the majority of students. With a categorical mean of 4.09 (sd=.58) and an emotional learning style, learners' learning engagement throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic can be demonstrated. In summary, instructors' use of examples helps students learn knowledge quickly. The learning of university-trained pre-service teachers is governed by emotion. It is advised that instructional tactics match up with students' learning plans. Additionally, in order to effectively meet the needs of the students, teachers must devise a variety of activities and appropriate teaching materials.

This research paper delves into the novel "The Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad, examining it through a post-colonial lens to explore the themes of liberation and the impact of colonialism on various aspects of life. The analysis chapter investigates crucial subtopics such as the dream-like existence and passivity of the colonial settlers, the exploitation of power and the weaknesses of the colonized, the lives of subalterns, the imposition of new systems, and the loss of freedom. Additionally, it examines the darkness of life and the insignificance of native culture, along with the legitimization of invasion and occupation and the voice of resistance. The study adopts a qualitative research methodology, drawing on post-colonial theories presented by scholars such as Edward Said, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Homi K. Bhabha, and Frantz Fanon (Said, 1978; Spivak, 1993; Bhabha, 2008; Fanon, 2008). These theories serve as a theoretical framework, guiding the textual analysis to uncover and interpret post-colonial structures and themes present in the novel. By employing these perspectives, the study seeks to understand the complexities of colonial relationships, encompassing traditions, norms, identity, culture, and experiences depicted in the portrayal of both colonizers and the colonized. The main analytical tool used in this research is Edward Said's theory of Orientalism, supplemented by insights from other post-colonial theorists (Edward, 1978). The data collection process involves a comprehensive study of the novel and the selected theories, and relevant text materials from the novel are carefully chosen based on the elements of the adopted theories. The primary sources of data include Joseph Conrad's "The Heart of Darkness," as well as the works of Spivak, Said, Bhabha, and Fanon (Conrad, 1902; Said, 1978; Spivak, 1993; Bhabha, 2008; Fanon, 2008). The research paper presents a qualitative data analysis technique, focusing on themes such as orientalism, racism, identity, subalternity, and hybridity. After thorough examination and interpretation of the novel's text in light of the selected theories, the paper offers critical insights into the post-colonial elements present in "The Heart of Darkness." This study contributes to the broader understanding of post-colonial literature and highlights the lasting impacts of colonialism on both the colonized and the colonizers.

Improving the Effectiveness of Hybrid Learning Through the Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning Model Facing Pandemic Covid-19 面向Covid-19的计算机支持协同学习模型提高混合学习的有效性

Hybrid Learning using Computer Supported Collaboration Learning (CSCL) is an effort to maximize learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to increase the effectiveness of implementing hybrid learning using CSCL in dealing with COVID-19. The research method uses qualitative case studies, and the data is processed using interactive data analysis from Miles and Huberman. The results showed: 1) CSCL learning is a very appropriate model applied to blended learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, this model is able to improve student learning outcomes, students study harder, active, focused, learn quickly, discuss and cooperate in groups, have confidence, manage learning time and help each other in their groups; 2) The CSCL model is more effective compared to conventional learning models because it can create a more active, creative and innovative learning atmosphere; 3) CSCL learning during face-to-face classes is better able to improve student performance and creativity and innovation in learning compared to implementing CSCL in online learning, because students can discuss and cooperate directly; 4) CSCL learning is able to improve student learning outcomes, this condition can be seen from the assignment scores and midle test and final test grades; 5) CSCL learning is able to improve students' ability to discuss and collaborate in groups; 6) CSCL learning is able to overcome the limited internet network in Higher Education.

Strengthening Religious Moderation As Effort To Prevent Extremism In Education Institution 加强宗教节制是防止教育机构极端化的努力

This study aims to describe the strengthening of religious moderation to prevent radicalism in educational institutions/units. This research uses literature studies and data collected using notes and documents related to the research focus from journals and books and then analyzed using the content analysis technique. The findings reveal that strengthening religious moderation in education institutions/units can be conducted by; 1) respecting plurality to avoid conflict, 2). Internalize the essence of religious teachings based on the principles of justice, balance, and harmony, 3). They were uniting religious spirit and national commitment in academic units and learning. Conceptually, this research contributes to the strategy and mapping framework for strengthening religious moderation in education. Further researchers can focus on the technical implementation of religious moderation in education, such as planning, program design, implementation, and evaluation.

For many years, the Land of Papua has experienced bloody battles as separatist parties fought for independence from the Indonesian government. Understanding how relative hardship contributes to complaints and drives violent action is one of the critical obstacles to resolving these disputes. Indigenous people in Papua have long felt exploited and marginalized by the national government and international businesses that take resources out of the area. Compared to others in a social group or society, the sense of unfair disadvantage is called relative deprivation. This feeling of relative deprivation has fostered demands for independence and violent confrontations with security forces. In order to analyze a specific phenomenon, this research study employs a qualitative methodology that includes a thorough literature review of reliable papers. The result of this study is that the Papuan people experience relative deprivation because they have lost what previously belonged to them, such as land and resource rights, political representation, cultural identity, human rights, and fair social services. This sense of loss has caused deprivation in the Papuan people. At the same time, this deprivation fosters a separatist spirit channelled through acts of violence that cause casualties. The central government's lack of concern exacerbates the relative deprivation conditions of the Papuan people. Thus, the people of Papua are increasingly marginalized by the central government.

Resilience is an individual's effort to withstand and grow healthily in facing a stressful life. Resilience is very useful, especially in helping individuals develop a better life which consists of components of emotional regulation, impulse control, optimism, empathy, the ability to analyze problems, self-efficacy, and increasing positive aspects. Religious life is a form of a life dedicated to God and freely chosen by individuals that are manifested in the fulfillment of religious vows. This article aims to examine resilience in the religious’ life and constructive ways to develop it. The author examines the meanings, dimensions, supporting factors, and previous studies that contribute to resilience. Based on previous concepts and research, the author outlines several ways that can be applied in helping a religious develop resilience in his/her life.

Context As A Shaper Of EFL Teacher Identity: Mediating Role Of Professional Development 语境对英语教师身份的塑造:专业发展的中介作用

Generally, professional development initiatives focus mainly on enhancing teachers’ classroom practices. However, teaching practices without being cognizant of students’ culture and teaching contexts rarely have an impact on students’ learning outcomes. With regard to language teaching, teachers’ knowledge of teaching context is a pivotal factor in learners’ language development. This paper reports on a study that explored how the Cambridge English Teacher (CET) professional development program influenced knowledge of teaching context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in a Saudi Arabian public university. Utilizing convergent parallel mixed-methods design, survey questionnaire and semi-structured interviews provide the data to explore the CET experiences of 130 EFL teachers. The combined quantitative and qualitative results show that because of the CET, the participants’ knowledge of the Saudi EFL context was enhanced in the following areas: the status of the English language in Saudi society, learners’ culture, adaptation to institutional policies, building rapport with learner, and learning from multicultural colleagues. Specifically, the findings indicated that EFL teachers from different linguistics backgrounds gained an understanding of how the English language is taught through using culturally sensitive methodologies. Finally, the article recommends steps that seek to help institutes provide context-specific PD to teachers as well as offers directions for current practices and future research.

Population growth and climate change have triggered food crises in many countries. As a country with a large population with an average area of ​​agricultural land ownership of fewer than 0.25 hectares, Indonesia needs a more progressive strategy in anticipating a food crisis. Additional food production from outside agricultural land is required to meet food self-sufficiency. This study aims to map the role of stakeholders in the development of food production from forests in marginal land areas. In-depth interviews were conducted to determine each stakeholder's level of interest and influence. This paper identifies each stakeholder's relationship, the opportunities for collaboration, and the challenges faced using stakeholder analysis. The research used a case study in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Province, one of Indonesia's marginal and food-insecure areas. The results showed that among the 13 identified stakeholders, the Forest Management Unit (FMU) of Yogyakarta Province and the Food Security and Extension Board (BKPP) of Yogyakarta Province are two stakeholders who act as key players, with a high level of interest and influence. The provincial government's role was dominant in developing food from the forest. Forest farmers, private forestry companies, and universities are less involved in the decision-making related to food security policies. The government at the district level also does not have sufficient budget and resources to maximize the development of food from the forest. However, the analysis results show that the potential for stakeholder collaboration is immense.

Social media has revolutionized communication and information sharing, offering marketers a new avenue to reach customers. In developing countries like India, the rapid growth of social media and social networking sites presents unique opportunities for businesses. However, measuring the real return on investment in social media marketing remains a challenge. This paper aims to assess the impact of social media usage on the purchase decision process. The study examines the usage patterns of social media and their influence on the five stages of the purchase process. The findings reveal that social media is predominantly used as an information source due to its perceived convenience, effectiveness, and credibility. Additionally, social media reviews and opinions significantly influence the purchase decision process. However, the tendency to share post-purchase experiences on social media is surprisingly low. This research contributes to a better understanding of the role of social media in shaping consumer behavior and provides insights for marketers seeking to leverage this powerful platform effectively.
