Research on Self-Developed Children’s Epidemic Prevention Picture Nooks, Related Teaching Aids and Anti-Epidemic Objects 自主开发的儿童防疫画角、相关教具及防疫用品研究

Situational picture books and teaching aids were created with epidemic prevention as the main focus of this research. Through the invention patent and design patent, this product was exhibited in the Green Idea International Invention Competition and won the bronze medal. The design concept included “mask knowledge and etiquette”, “healthy eating knowledge”, “correct steps to wash hands”, and “epidemic precautions” to make small anti-epidemic items, namely “mask creative shape stickers”, “mask pocket bags”, and “mask creative shape stickers”. There were small stickers with eyes, mouths, and ears in the shape of small animals designed to be attached to the mask to increase children’s interest and willingness to wear them. The “Mask Carrying Bag” allowed children to store masks and avoid losing them after use. After the production of teaching aids, the quantitative research was completed, and the data from 100 research subjects confirmed reliability and validity through a questionnaire survey. Then, 34 education and security personnel were invited as research subjects to conduct pre-and post-tests. Through the dependent sample t-test, the effectiveness of research and development products was validated. The results showed that situational picture books, related teaching aids, and anti-epidemic objects were significantly better than traditional epidemic prevention teaching aids in improving children’s hand-eye coordination, promoting children’s interpersonal interaction, completing storage, promoting parent-child interaction, and practicality.

From Stage to Online: Reinvention of Cantonese Opera 从舞台到网络:粤剧的再创作

Cantonese Opera has a history of more than 500 years. In recent decades, Cantonese Opera is seldom performed on the stage, but more appearing on TV, in movies, and on the Internet. Owing to the development of information technology, Cantonese Opera was reborn on the Internet, enriching its content and enlarging its influence. Using the Netnography method, the process from the decline of Cantonese Opera on the stage to the revival on the Internet was investigated. A series of data and cases were collected from Blibli and Youtube, and other main Internet platforms in China and the US. The findings showed that the forms of Cantonese Opera have become richer, and its content is not limited to the performance but extended to opera actors through vlogs and online apps and by sharing Cantonese singing skills. The characteristics of Cantonese Opera on the Internet were summarized and compared to those on the stages. The result showed that Cantonese Opera on the Internet has more room to extend its influence and attract young people to enjoy the traditional culture. With the 5G technology, artificial intelligence technology, and 3D technology, Cantonese Opera become to have a bigger opportunity to transmit to new platforms.

Status and Development of Private Internet Hospitals: Telemedicine Practice of China since COVID-19 Epidemic 民营互联网医院现状与发展:新冠肺炎疫情以来中国远程医疗实践

Internet hospitals are a telemedicine business model as an important way to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of healthcare services globally. Internet hospitals can be divided into public and private ones. The latter tend to be larger due to the integration of physicians from different regions and hospitals. However, few studies have explored the operations and advantages of private Internet hospitals. Thus, this study is carried out to explore the role of private Internet hospitals in public health emergencies and their use characteristics based on consultation data during the Covid-19 epidemic from China’s largest telemedicine platform, Good Doctor Online. Specifically, we analyze the distribution of diseases for online consultations, doctor-patient interactions, and user online visit conversion rates, and discuss the results to provide a solid experience for developing telemedicine programs in other countries with insufficient health resources and inadequate healthcare systems.

Dream the Same Dream: Design of Sustainable Value Chain Model in Education Industry Based on HMEAYC 同一个梦想:基于HMEAYC的教育产业可持续价值链模型设计

The education industry is facing increasing pressure to enhance value for its stakeholders, including students, parents, educators, and society. To create more value, the traditional value chain needs to be restructured to be a new value chain that incorporates new activities and technologies. Based on Michael Porter's original theory of the value chain model, a sustainable value chain model for education businesses is proposed in this study based on the Holistic Music Educational Approach for Young Children (HMEAYC) to overcome the boundaries of traditional education organizations and add the value of education businesses in every sector of the education industry for stakeholders of education from academic scholars to children. The developed technology including artificial intelligence contributes considerably to the sustainable value chain, transforming the education industry and enabling personalized, high-quality education services.

Mercy Killing or Murder: A Moral Dilemma Regarding the Death of Lennie in Of Mice and Men 仁慈还是谋杀:关于《人鼠之间》中伦尼之死的道德困境

This study aims to analyze the death of Lennie Small, a tragic character in Of Mice and Men, through the lens of deontology and consequentialism. People have always paid the most attention to the ending of Of Mice and Men: Should George have killed Lennie or not? This study focuses on the factors that led to George’s decision to end Lennie’s life, using ethical perspectives to justify George’s decision to shoot Lennie to death. With the shooting of Lennie as an example, we intend to demonstrate that, although the action and the outcome may be the same from the deontological perspective and the consequential perspective, the motivation for the shooting is different because of different moral philosophies. Consequentialism provides a clear benchmark to abide by; in contrast, although deontology claims that people are obliged to follow the supreme principle of morality, without clear guidance, people may confront contradictory obligations and, hence, face a dilemma.

Contemporary Curriculum Model for Arts Education in Taiwan 当代台湾艺术教育课程模式

At the end of 2014, Taiwan proclaimed “competency-driven” as a new goal of education. Arts education curriculum changes from a traditional ability-based approach to an approach of more complex pedagogical and radical education outcomes for the new requirement. This article presents how and what a curriculum of competency-driven arts education is emerging based on the proclamation. We define competency-driven arts education as self-determination to solve problems by integrating knowledge, ability, and attitude of arts in the circumstances. This operational definition is used to set a scene of education for constructing a curriculum model, including the path of instruction, learning, and subject. The crucial and competency-driven features are stemmed from discussions that inspire curriculum implementation not on what is taught and acquired but on how to make decisions to show one's value judgment.

Transforming Street Business Model in a Matsu Island Village: Practice of University’s Social Responsibility in Taiwan 马祖岛村街头商业模式的转型:台湾大学社会责任的实践

This study aims to analyze the influences of the street revitalization project, conducted by the University Social Responsibility (USR) project and implemented by researchers at a TW university (a code name) in a commercial area in Tangqi Village, Beigan Township, Lienchiang County (also called Matsu Islands). A literature review, field investigations, interviews, and workshops as well as civil community meetings, were used to collect primary and secondary data in this study. This study concludes the following. (1) The TW University specializes in educating and developing talent, Research and Development (R&D), and international studies. These specializations expand the scope of its social responsibilities to maintain an interactive dialog with the town in question about the goal of the USR Project. The ongoing dialogue between the researchers and the townspeople explains and updates the locals about the aim of the project, the business model, and about the desirable economic impact that the project has on the area. (2) The implementation of the USR project by TW university changes consumption patterns in the street area of Tangqi Village. These changes were the result of the creation of a business culture receptive to international visitors as well as the establishment of a mobile payment system. Further changes include the image of the street area, a mobile technology application for local shop owners, the packaging of souvenirs and hands-on activities, and the integration of English as part of the business activities.

{"title":"Transforming Street Business Model in a Matsu Island Village: Practice of University’s Social Responsibility in Taiwan","authors":"Sheng-wen Tseng, Cheng-Yi Lin","doi":"10.35745/ijssai2022v02.03.0002","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.35745/ijssai2022v02.03.0002","url":null,"abstract":"This study aims to analyze the influences of the street revitalization project, conducted by the University Social Responsibility (USR) project and implemented by researchers at a TW university (a code name) in a commercial area in Tangqi Village, Beigan Township, Lienchiang County (also called Matsu Islands). A literature review, field investigations, interviews, and workshops as well as civil community meetings, were used to collect primary and secondary data in this study. This study concludes the following. (1) The TW University specializes in educating and developing talent, Research and Development (R&D), and international studies. These specializations expand the scope of its social responsibilities to maintain an interactive dialog with the town in question about the goal of the USR Project. The ongoing dialogue between the researchers and the townspeople explains and updates the locals about the aim of the project, the business model, and about the desirable economic impact that the project has on the area. (2) The implementation of the USR project by TW university changes consumption patterns in the street area of Tangqi Village. These changes were the result of the creation of a business culture receptive to international visitors as well as the establishment of a mobile payment system. Enhancing Physical and Psychological Wellbeing of Patients with End-stage Renal Disease: A Pilot In-hospital Tai Chi Group Intervention in Hong Kong 改善终末期肾脏疾病患者的身心健康:香港医院内太极团体干预试验

This article presents a pilot group intervention to assist end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients in developing a regular exercise lifestyle, enhance their wellbeing, and promote mutual support. Sixteen patients with ESRD aged between 45 and 65 participated in the five-week group intervention based on the Eastern Body-Mind-Spirit model with Tai Chi components at a public hospital in Hong Kong. A mix-method approach was used to assess the attainment of objectives: (1) participants were asked to report their frequency and duration of physical exercises outside of the group; (2) the Personal Wellbeing Index – Adult (Cantonese) 4th edition was used to measure the quality of life of the participants; (3) a general group evaluation form was used to evaluate participants’ satisfaction with the group; and (4) observations by the medical social workers during the group and sharing sessions, feedback from the participants, the Tai Chi Instructor, and medical team members of the renal ward were collected to determine the level of mutual support among participants. The group showed promising results: (1) the average time group members spent exercising outside the group increased by 24%; (2) rapport was apparent among most group members; (3) communication between the patients and the medical team was enhanced; and (4) paired sample t-test showed a significant average difference between pre- and post-group Personal Wellbeing scores of the participants (t = -2.9, df = 12, p = 0.01). It is suggested to scale up the intervention and conduct follow-ups to determine the most suitable group duration and format.

Nutritional Service Experienced During Hospital Stay: Comparison between Centralized Operating System and Contracted Operating System 住院期间营养服务体验:集中式操作系统与承包式操作系统的比较

The provision of good healthcare including nutritional services is a challenge for the management of hospitals and health centers. Thus, this study was carried out to measure and compare the performance of the Department of Food and Nutrition in two hospitals with two different operating systems: a centralized operating system and a contracted operating system. A cross-sectional comparative design was used to investigate in-ward food services from the patient’s perspective. Ninety patients participated from Hospital A, a hospital with a centralized operating system, and 125 patients participated from Hospital B, a hospital with a contracted operating system. The result showed that the centralized operating system had inherent advantages over the other system in all dimensions. Specifically, the dimensions of "Staff/Service issues" and "Physical Environment " were identified as the areas that differed between the two hospitals and need to be further developed in the contracted operating system.

University Art Museum Connecting Communities to Create Aesthetic Life through Public Art Program: In the Name of the Trees 大学艺术博物馆通过公共艺术项目连接社区,创造审美生活:以树之名

Starting from the theoretical viewpoints of relational aesthetics, the relationship was explored between a university art museum and communities in the Public Art Program—in the Name of the Trees offered by the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). Observational and interview methods were used to obtain research materials and explore how university art museums interact with communities through public art exhibitions and strengthen the relatively weak relationships with the community to co-create an aesthetic life. It is also observed how community residents can change their opinions about the university art museum by participating in the public art program. The results show that the university art museum effectively establishes interaction with the community residents through public art programs such as "collection-sharing", "teacher-student co-creation", "artist stationing" and "education promotion activities" and plays an active role in promoting interpersonal communication, sustaining the natural environment development and improving community public space.
