The study investigated the influence of the TEU container freight ocean transportation cost from Shangai port, China to Lagos seaport in West African and the road haulage cost of TEU container freight from Lagos ports to the hinterland markets in Nigeria on the increasing trend of inflation in the prices of imported market commodities in the economy. It employed ex-post factor research design in which time series secondary data covering a nine (9) years period from 2010 to 2018 was obtained for the TEU container freight ocean transport cost, price inflation rates in the economy, TEU container freight road haulage cost from Lagos seaports to the regional hinterland markets in Kano in the north, Onitsha in the east, and Alaba international market in the west. The multiple regression analysis method was used to analyze the obtained data using the OLS method. The findings indicate that, cumulatively, the TEU container freight ocean transport cost and road haulage costs borne by shippers in transporting imports from China through the Lagos seaports to the regional hinterland markets in Nigeria, West Africa, does not significantly influence levels of inflation in commodity prices in the Nigerian economy. The study concluded that, though transport cost influences price inflation rates in the economy; it is not a significant or determinant factor of inflation in commodity prices in the Nigerian economy. Recommendations were proffered on the basis of the research findings.

The field of biomedical engineering relies heavily on materials known as bioceramics due to their many advantages. That’s also because bioceramics are often used in the field of tissue engineering as well as implant applications. It is a direct consequence of the effective use of bioceramics. Three-dimensional printing is now the production technology used most often for bioceramics. On the other hand, there are also various approaches (3D Printers). The manufacturing processes have certain commonalities (such as the production of materials in successive layers). Still, they also share some variances (such as the amount of time it takes, the amount of money it costs, and the temperature at which the machine operates). This study contains research on the many ways that may be used to create bioceramics and the benefits and drawbacks of the various methods applied in the manufacturing process.

The investigation was carried out in Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero. A total of 200 soil samples were collected to determine the presence of geohelminth parasites in the study area. Out of 200 soil samples examined, 122 (61%) were positive and 78 (39%) were negative. The distribution of geohelminths (Soil Transmitted Helminths) parasites from each sampling sites examined are: senior staff quarters with the highest 36/50 (72%) followed by male hostel with 31/50 (62%), classes are with 28/50 (22.95%) and junior staff quarters recorded the least with 27/50 (22.13%). The prevalence of Hookworm is highest with 50/122 (40.98%), followed by Strongyloides with 21/122 (17.21%), Trichuris with 32/122 (26.22%) while Toxocara has the lowest with 19/122 (15.57s%). The high prevalence of soil transmitted helminth parasite in the study area could be attributed to lack of functional toilet facilities, lack of good sanitation and practice of open field defecation leading to indiscriminate defecation in and around the campus yard. Therefore, current control measures should include: Provision of functioning toilet fascilities and public campain on simple health promoting factors.

The study analyzed the major component determinant attributes of airport service quality in Nigeria with a view to establishing the priority service quality attributes/factors which airport authorities in Nigeria should follow in improving airport service quality and utility derivable from consumption of airport services by airlines and passengers. Using the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja and the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos as case studies, the study employed questionnaire as a survey instrument to generate primary data used for the study. The survey instrument was calibrated to elicit responses from airlines staff and air passengers in the two airports on what service quality attributes among the five consolidated attributes of responsiveness, reliability, tangibles, empathy and assurance contribute significantly to their judgment about airport service quality in each airport in line with the SERVQUAL model. The principal component factor analysis (PCFA) was used to analyze the data obtained from the survey and the major significant determinant attributes of airport service quality where determined from the perspectives of both the airlines and air passengers as major consumers airport services in Nigeria.

Hedging is a precursor for realization of financial sustainability. This is because the nucleus of commercial banks is intertwined with risks that should be off-set. This study sought to determine the effect of hedging on financial sustainability of commercial banks in Kenya. The study adopted a positivism research philosophy and an expost facto research design. Target population was 43 commercial banks. The study adopted panel data and the pooled, fixed effects or random effects models were adopted in the study. The study sought to find-out which model was the most appropriate to explain the effect of hedging on financial sustainability. Findings revealed that the fixed-effect model was the most appropriate model that was adopted to explain the effect of hedging onfinancial sustainability. The findings were as follows; options ( β = .0118, p < 0.05), forwards (β = .6116, p < 0.05), swaps (β = .0114, p < 0.05) and futures (β = .5555, p < 0.05). The study concluded that hedging has a significant effect on financial sustainability of commercial banks. Financial derivatives such as options, forwards, swaps and futures helps commercial banks to hedge against risk. Hedging is the most optimal approach for off-setting risk so as to achieve financial sustainability. The fixed-effect model is the most appropriate model to explain the effect of hedging on financial sustainability. The study recommended that all financial institutions should practice hedging so as to off-set risk and be able to realize financial sustainability. Options, forwards, swaps and futures are the financial derivatives that should be adopted by commercial banks to hedge against risk.

Consumers have greater purchase choice options to fulfill their wants and desires in a networked world. In the United States fashion business, privately owned brick-and-mortar fashion boutiques face the unique challenge of strategically competing with online retailers who usually have low overheads and inventories. Low adaptability, limited innovation, and inadequate attention to a changing marketing landscape could be responsible for the decline in the survival rate of several traditional, or pure brick-and-mortar fashion boutiques. Newer approaches may be essential for traditional and online entrepreneurs, to increase adaptability and business sustainability and in increasing customer marketing outreach. Grounded in the general systems theory, the research conducted in this qualitative study was with the invocation of a multiple case design and entailed gaining insight into the exploration of strategies used by successful brick-and-mortar fashion boutique owners in contending with the purely online retailers. Semi-structured interviews constituted the means for data collection and involved 5 brickand-mortar fashion boutique owner participants, who operated retail fashion businesses in the southeast region of the United States. The successful existence of the business for more than 5 years was an important prerequisite for participation criteria in the study, as also indicated merit in studying the critical success factors in traditional fashion retailing. The data from interviews were analyzed and triangulated with credible secondary sources such as information and reports from the U. S. Small Business Administration, U. S. Census Bureau, and the fashion industry. From a thematic analysis of the interview data, the major emergent themes were the importance of the business success of marketing strategies, cognizance of fashion trends and the role of customer preference in economic success resepectively. The ensuing knowledge from the utilization of the study may serve to increase the success rates of traditional and online fashion startups and possibly provide knowledge on the strategic imperatives for these businesses to compete in an online business world.

Any education that is not qualitative enough would impose more danger to the learners and the society at large. This paper examined managing the learning environment in schools for improved quality education. The secondary school was the focus while the principals were the target. The presentation of the meaning of learning environment and quality education was captured. The paper also explained who the principal is and his responsibilities concerning the educational managerial conception. The paper looked at the various components of the learning environment and how they could be managed to produce an acceptable learning environment and its implication in the post-COVID 19 eras. In the end, the paper concluded, among other things, that it is only when the principals are innovative, creative, and proactive with their understanding of the learning environment that the so desired quality education be achieved.
