For the first time in the study of art, this article presents, in an integrated manner, the view of imaginative-stylistic originality of sculptural heritage of the Lviv women of that period, which has not been explored until the present time, and it provides new biographical details. Based on the principles of A. Rodin, A. Maillol and E.-A. Bourdelle, the artists developed the ideas of post-impressionism, neo-symbolism and archaization on a local basis. They were especially interested in the problems of form and construction, rhythmic composition and simplification of all elements. The desire for generalized and closed volumes as well as geometrized forms sometimes led to a rethinking of cubism. After 1930, avant-garde works, close to the principles of constructiv-ism, cubism, futurism and geometric abstractionism, appeared. They also used bold technical innovations: col-lages, synthesis of sculpture and painting.

The term cooperation in reference to its Polish-Soviet dimension has few adherents today. The dominant terminology emphasizes our across-the-board dependence on the eastern "partner"; many of those people write and speak of "Soviet occupation". I think it is a consequence of a certain historical policy, which, on the one hand, aims at obliterating the real image of the People's Republic of Poland in the memory of contemporary generations, and, on the other hand, takes recourse to a quite common opinion about the hostility of the USSR (also of the Russian Federation) in order to shape anti-Soviet and anti-Russian attitudes of Poles. The political and military reality of the years 1945-1989 was more complex, also in the area of the Polish-Soviet naval cooperation, and hence I intend to reflect on it in order to deepen its understanding beyond the known and oft-repeated political clichés.

The article presents the military relations between Poland and the Soviet Union in the years 1921-1939, from the end of the war between Poland and the Bolshevik Russia until the beginning of World War II. Its content has been divided into four subchapters, in the first of which the author analyzes the state of research on the topic in question and the state of preservation of sources in Polish and foreign archives. In the following subsections, the author presents the military relations between Poland and the USSR in three periods: in the years 1921-1926, 1926-1935 and 1935-1939. The last subsection is key to the undertaken research problem. It contains findings on the changes in the mutual military relations to the disadvantage of Poland, in connection with the rapid expansion and modernization of the Red Army and the difficulties of the Polish military intelligence in their assessment and difficulties in recognizing the reconstructed cooperation between the USSR and Germany.

The article describes the organizational changes and modernization of the operational troops of the Armed Forces of the Polish People's Republic in the first 15 years of the existence of the Warsaw Pact. In the structure of the Polish Army, the aforementioned troops constituted the most important component intended for military operations at the operational level as part of the United Armed Forces of the Warsaw Pact. During the war, the operational troops were to create a higher operational union (the Polish Front), which was to include three Land Force Armies, the Air Force Army and operational forces of the Navy. The units of the first throw were constantly in combat readiness, thanks to which they could start combat operations almost immediately, in accordance with the operational plans of the Warsaw Pact Command. The changing and growing requirements of the battlefield forced the command of the Polish Army to modernize the structure and equipment of opera-tional troops. These issues are described based on literature and archival documents.

The article focuses on the circumstances of the USSR’s breaking off diplomatic relations with Poland in April 1943. The main research problem is the sequence of events in the Polish-Soviet relations in the period from July 1941, i.e. from the signing of the Sikorski-Majski pact, to April 1943, which consequently led to their breaking. The theoretical basis is constituted by the source documents and the basic literature on the subject. The primary research method was a critical analysis of sources and literature. On the basis of the conducted research, the author argues that the matter of the graves of the Polish officers murdered in Smolensk was only a pretext to make a decision to break off the diplomatic relations with the government of General Władysław Sikorski by the USSR and to start cooperation with Polish communists gathered in the Union of Polish Patriots.

The studied examples of attributive phrases are cases of gender disagreement in written Russian of Kazakh students. The article shows that the gender disagreement is due to the absence of a gender category and the limited agreement in Kazakh, as well as the formal nature of the distribution of nouns by gender and the hardness of agreement in Russian. The material for the research was extracted from the Kazakh subcorpus of the Russian Learner Corpus. An attempt was made to conduct a quantitative analysis. The article describes the dependence of gender disagreement on the formal characteristics of the noun – the controller of the agreement, the case of the attributive phrase and partly the structure of the utterance.

The disintegration of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) has substantially changed the shape of the international environment. The role of the world power shaping international relations fell to the United States. Undoubtedly, it was a result of the triumph in the Cold War rivalry. The Russian Federation, the successor of the USSR, found itself in a diametrically opposite position. It faced the challenge of determining its place in the new international reality. Due to its political and economic weakness, it was doomed to build this position in cooperation with the West. This article deals with the relations between the Russian Federation and the West in the years 1991-2014. The author aims to identify factors shaping those relations and describe the mutual relations, focusing on key events. The study carried out confirms that the mutual Russian-Western relations over the years were characterized by both successes and failures, which, regardless of their character, shaped these relations.

Zdziechowski Jerzy (1880–1975) was a politician, economist and economic activist. In the years 1917–1918 he was a member of the Polish Council of the Inter-Party Union in Russia and a co-organizer of the Polish Corps in Russia. In 1919, he was one of the main participants in the failed coup d’etat attempting to overthrow the government of Jędrzej Moraczewski. In the years 1922–1927, he was a member of the Sejm from the Popular National Union. In the years 1925–1926, he was the Minister of the Treasury in the government of A. Skrzyński. He developed the economic and financial program for stabilizing the Polish zloty, which caused such side effects as, i.a.: reduced employment, lowered wages, and reduced exports of agricultural products, as well as significant increases in taxes and prices. However, the program allowed for achieving a balanced budget. The program’s implementation resulted in the withdrawal of the Polish Socialist Party from the ruling coalition and led to the fall of the government. In the years 1926–1933, he was a member of the Council of the Camp of Great Poland, which was founded and led by Roman Dmowski. Until 1939, he was an activist of economic organizations. From September 1939, Jerzy Zdziechowski resided abroad. After World War II, he was the chairman of the Executive Department of the Political Council in London on behalf of the National Party. Jerzy Zdziechowski was characterized by theoretical eradication and the ability to achieve macroeconomic goals within the framework of economic policy, which he proved by managing financial matters in the years 1925-26 as well as by his creative criticism of the politics in 1926-39.

The article presents selected examples of enantiosemy which take place in the process of developing names denoting health in Russian dialects compared with Common Slavic units. Primarily, the history of the Russian kreiat’ and derived words with the same root are studied, alongside some other words with the same meaning. It is stated that auto-antonymous meanings can be detected through the existence of a lexeme originating from the primary motivation to a later attestation. The complexity of the historical development of a name often results in a discrepancy between its proposed etymologies.
