A pedagogical view of migration phenomenology 移民现象学的教育学观点

Starting from the interpretations of the philosophy of history that have sought a paradigmatic place, capable of representing a nodal point, an umbilical cord between cultures and civilizations, like a reality characterized by crossings and plurality, this article discusses the possibility to build in the contemporary world, characterized by crossings and migrations, a physical and existential, metaphysical and pedagogical perimeter in which to realize the hospitality understood in the manner of Derrida: a destabilizing category that deconstructs the relationship with an atavistic exclusionary nomos .

Nowadays, the debate concerning the crisis of the education, and afterthought of the educational approaches, is emerging as a reaction to the challenges of the modernity. The educational systems are not giving appropriated answers to the problems of the society that is different if compared with the past. Modern-day education is regarded to be open and based on a complex system that accepts the indeterminateness of the knowledge, by implementing the interventions on the basis of the given situation, as it goes along, without the dogmatism of a method defined a-priori.

Between education and politics there is an original and undeniable relationship: each civilisation reproduces and recreates itself through education (which is why politics is interested in education) and education is the basis of civil coexistence (that’s why politics depends on the quality of education). In the framework of this mutual interdependence, education may assume towards society a “subversive” or a “countercyclical” role (Neil Postman), according to whether the historical moment is characterised by stability or quick and deep changes. In any case, education is always “political”, since upon it depends the process of “democratization of democracy” (Anthony Giddens) that society should provide in order to avoid the decline and pervertion of the spirit and values of the democratic citizenship. From this viewpoint, phenomenology contributes to the training of feeling and thinking underlying the critical exercise of reason and choice.

In today's society, the spread of digital culture pushes young people to be increasingly active producers of content to be shared on the web. The offensive contents conveyed on the Web fall into the category called hate speech, developed by American jurisprudence to indicate a set of words and speeches whose purpose is the spread of hatred towards of a person or a group based on certain characteristics such as ethnicity, sexual orientation, belonging to a religion. The reflection that we want to pursue is the need for the construction of a training course that addresses young people to understand the importance the educational value of reflexivity. This category, placing itself as a properly human process based on a continuous negotiation of the self with the external world, today more than ever it must be addressed to the protection of the concept of the common good, moving in the pedagogical logic of proximity.

A quanto pare, che il termine “crisi” in cinese significhi al tempo stesso “opportunità” è un luogo comunepiuttosto infondato. Fu forse il presidente americano JohnFitzgeraldKennedy a rendere famosa questa affermazione, e tuttavia – ancorché suggestivo – si trattava di un equivoco. La parola危機 (weiji, crisi) è composta infatti da due ideogrammi: 機 (ji) rappresenta un oggetto ligneo, più precisamente un telaio (quindi una macchina, un ingranaggio). Ma ciò che determina il significato della locuzione è il carattere 危 (wei) che denota un pericolo, qualcosa di rischioso e di difficile gestione. Il significato di 危機non è, dunque, “opportunità”, bensì “meccanismopericoloso”. Potremmodire, nellamigliore delle ipotesi, che “crisi” indica un “momento cruciale”, il cui esito è tuttavia assolutamente incerto. Del resto, anche l’etimologia greca (da krino, separare, giudicare) suggerisce un prudente discernimento, più che un ottimismo ingenuo. In effetti tutti sappiamo (e forse qualche volta lo abbiamo sperimentato in prima persona) che una congiuntura critica, un momento difficile, perfino estremo, possono essere paradossali occasioni di apprendimento e di cambiamento. Lo smarrimento della ragione e il compito dell’educazione 理性的丧失与教育的任务

Democracy is not just a set of rules and procedures. Today, through a clever use of analogical and digital technologies, increasing invasive consumerism can erode two attitudes of the citizen: the deep attention and the construction of the symbolic world. Actually, for the consumer conditioned by the drive to buy, reflective thinking is only an obstacle. Education, in particular in the school, cannot renounce the formation of thought. For this reason it is important to rehabilitate rituals, albeit in new forms, in order to form the ability to wait. It is also important to train to the pleasure of learning instead of pleasure of success. The pleasure of learning is the premise for being able to cultivate humanistic and scientific knowledge and through them, enrich one’s own symbolic world.

Oltre alla noia e oltre al disgusto per l’imbarbarimento del linguaggio e la superficialita dei ragionamenti, la cosiddetta campagna elettorale permanente che caratterizza l’attualita politica determina una generale diseducazione di tutti i cittadini relativamente al senso delle elezioni. Nonostante tale deleterio schiacciamento sul presente della politica e tutti i suoi nocumenti, vale la pena ricordare che il suffragio e la propaganda hanno percorso, con alterne fortune e con tortuosi rivolgimenti, tutta la storia europea. Una preziosa e impareggiabile traccia di questa lunga e controversa nostra storia sono i cosiddetti manifesti politici dell’antica Pompei, dipinti parietali degli scriptores che, tra il 62 e il 79 d.C., sollecitavano gli elettori ad esprimersi sui propri magistrati. I tituli picti dell’antica Pompei ci offrono un’occasione per riflettere sulla dimensione originaria della politica e del fenomeno elettorale che, bon gre mal gre , e intrinseco alla nostra educazione alla cittadinanza.

Health and education are fundamental aspects of human and social development, which we will analyze through the lens of the Socio-phenomenological approach applied in both health promotion and education. Health is constitutively related to education, and it cannot be intended just as a psycho-biological condition. Self-determination of our own health requires assuming responsibility and active citizenship. The right of deciding about our own health cannot be automatically accomplished through an «innate» capacity, but it requires education, metaphorically intended as a flywheel that initially allows the individual to acquire awareness of his/her health needs/desires and, later, to assume a political position in the community, in order to make those needs/desires acknowledged. How can we avoid to reduce health promotion activities in schools and community to standardized practices, which do not consider the embodied needs/desires of the individuals? The Socio-phenomenological approach calls to the «human» component of preventive activities, connecting the individuals’ need for wellbeing with the common good.
