The article presents the results of bottom sediment study in the supervised area of the Belarusian NPP. The approximate coefficients of heavy metal content in bottom sediment and in a water body as a whole are calculated on the basis of a literature review. According to the experimental data, both background and critical river pollution levels are estimated in the supervised area of the Belarusian NPP.

The features of water supply and sanitation of meat processing industry enterprises are considered. The analysis of the functioning of local wastewater treatment facilities of JSC «Borisovsky Meat Processing Plant No. 1» has been carried out. The analysis of the functioning of the existing local wastewater treatment plants and the comparison of the efficiency of their functioning before the modernization showed that the efficiency of treatment increased and amounted to 75 to 95% according to the main indicators. The implemented method of reagent pressure flotation with the use of BAT allowed to bring the work of the local treatment facilities of the enterprise in compliance with the high requirements of the European Union.

Currently, the pathology of the musculoskeletal system is considered in several multifactorial diseases, the pathogenesis of which is complex and is due to the interaction of environmental and endogenous factors. An important role in the progression of pathology is played by disorders in metabolism and a decrease in sensitivity to vitamin D. Studies of the past two decades have shown that the various biological actions of the active metabolite of vitamin D - 1,25-dihydroxy vitamin D (calcitriol) - are carried out by modulating the expression of genes that are mediated by interaction with the intracellular vitamin D receptor (VDR). VDR is a product of the corresponding gene - VDR, which determines its structure and functional activity. In this gene, a certain number of polymorphic variants have been identified that can affect gene expression.

In recent years, due to active economic development, the growth in the number of vehicles, China has faced serious environmental pollution, especially the problem of air pollution in cities is becoming more and more serious. Air quality in many large cities has deteriorated due to emissions of NOx, SOx and COx from vehicle exhaust gases and the subsequent formation of photochemical smog. Urban air pollution affects urban health and urban development. With regard to air protection, the Chinese government is implementing many programs. Using the example of Beijing, this article proposes a method for optimizing urban air protection.

An important element of a modern high-tech radiotherapy complex based on a linear electron accelerator is an electronic detector of portal images. It ensures the accuracy of the patient’s positioning on the treatment table, the compliance of the delivered dose distribution with the planned one, and allows for fast and accurate verification of treatment plans with volumetric modulation of the radiation intensity. The main provisions of the quality control of the electronic portal image detector are considered. It is shown that it includes the following stages: installation and commissioning of equipment; radiation dose control; calibration; quality control of clinical images; software testing; development of a quality assurance program that ensures the effectiveness and reliability of the patient’s radiation conditions in the course of radiation therapy.

There are a number of methods to determine the flux of solar radiation onto the receiving surface. The best results are obtained by Byrd’s method. Its improvement is possible by introducing correction factors. Simulation of the solar radiation flux, based on this approach, gives sufficiently accurate results for solving practical problems. To increase the reliability of calculations, it is advisable to use more extensively the databases of actinometric observations obtained at observation posts on the territory of the former USSR.

The content of the main biochemical components: protein, polysaccharides, lipids, melanin pigments, and phenolic compounds was studied in the fruit bodies of strains of fungi of the genera Ganoderma, Inonotus, Phallus, and Pleurotus. The amount of total and true protein was 14.6-28.0% and 10.9-18.5%, respectively, polysaccharides-10.8-28.4%, lipids-3.1-3.5%, phenolic compounds-580-2200 mg%. Higher protein content was observed in the strains of the fungus P. ostreatus, polysaccharides - in the strains of G. lucidum and Ph. impudicus, phenolic compounds in the strains of the fungus I. obliquus. The largest amount of polysaccharides (22.0-24.0 %) was isolated from the fruit bodies of G. lucidum (reishi). The leader in the content of polysaccharides in the dry biomass of fruit bodies is the fungus Phallus impudicus (common Veselka). The fruit bodies of Chaga I. obliquus (strains KI 5, KI 7) and Veselka Ph. impudicus (strains PI 2, PI 5, and PI 9) contained significant amounts of melanin pigments - 10.3-13.8% and 7.1-7.4%, respectively.
