The study aimed was to make a bibliometric analysis of the journal Suma Psicologica, in order to know the evolution of the journal and its scientific production. In this paper historical elements of the trajectory of the journal as well as its chronological evolution are described; and from a database that considered 336 scientific articles on its final sample, an analysis of the collaboration indexes (Lawani & Subramanyam) and productivity (Lotka) was conducted, as well as the relationships between the authors in respect to signing countries, themes studied and methodologies used. On the results is highlighted the increase of the international collaboration in the period 2006-2017. In the same way, it was found a higher proportion of papers focused on the areas of clinical and health psychology and experimental psychology. The analysis made allows to show what the journal made becoming itself on a diffusion media of the psychological production in Latin America.

Los datos no soportan la Invariancia Escalar (2 (38) = 82.058, p EnglishThis paper presents a theoretical review of the psychological construct of human curiosity and the Colombian version of the Self-Curiosity Attitude-Interest Scale. This is a two-factor self-report scale that assesses the attitude and the interest that people have to explore their own inner world. Two paired samples for gender, age and working class of Colombian (n = 170) and Italian (n = 195) participants (N = 365) were included in the study. Confirmatory Factor Analysis revealed a good fit of the data to the two-factor model of the Self-Curiosity Attitude-Interest Scale in Italian and Colombian subjects (respectively, 2(13) =16.073, p = .245 and 2(13) =10.352, p = .665). Also, Measurement Invariance Analysis suggested equivalent factor structures (Configural Invariance, 2 (26) = 26.423, p = .440) and factor loadings across the two groups (Metric Invariance, 2 (31) = 34.242, p = .315). The results do not support scalar invariance (2 (38) = 82.058, p

El análisis factorial confirmatorio permitió verificar el ajuste Abstract To measure the experience, expression and control of anger, Spielberger built the Inventory State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory. This paper under took to evaluate the validity and reliability of the scores of the Spanish version of the STAXI-2 for the general and hospital population of the DR. To this end, the factorial structure was analyzed, the internal consistency of the instrument was evaluated, and evidence of validity was obtained by contrasting groups (general vs. hospital population). To conduct the study, we worked with a sample of 1034 par-ticipants from both the general population (N = 792) and hospital population (N = 242) from the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The confirmatory factor analysis allowed to verify the adjustment of the original models for all anger scales (i.e. three-factor model for the anger-state scale, two-factor model for the anger-trait scale, and four-factor model for the scale of control and expression of anger). All the dimensions reached acceptable or op-timal reliability indexes. Finally, the scales adequately discriminated between the general and hospital population, especially when the psychiatric sample was considered. Over-all, the results allow us to conclude that the scores of the Spanish version of the STAXI-2 are valid and reliable to measure the state trait, and control-expression of anger in the DR.

Although many studies show that children are able to perform perceptive, thematic and taxonomical characterization, few studies investigate whether adults’ patterns -living things mostly associated with taxonomic and perceptive attributes, and nonliving things, with thematic information- resemble those of children. Thus, this paper undertook to study the types of -mainly taxonomic and thematic- attributes used by 6- to- 11-yearold children attending 1st, 3rd and 5th year of basic primary education in Mar del Plata city. This was done through a task that consisted of asking for conceptual attributes of living and nonliving things (ANIMALS, FRUITS, OBJECTS, FURNITURE). We found that thematic relations prevailed in OBJECTS and FURNITURE but not in FRUITS and ANIMALS, which matches with the idea that contextual and functional characteristics are more important for artifacts than living things. Likewise, taxonomic relations prevailed in ANIMALS and FRUITS, and its presence was much lower in OBJECTS and FURNITURE. In conclusion, we found a reverse pattern vis-a-vis that of thematic relations, in accordance with the idea that taxonomic relations are more relevant for living things given their relation to visual processing.

The aim of this study was to assess the effect of the use of cognitive emotional regulation strategies on high school students’ anxiety level. To this end, the Spanish adaptation of the CER-Q and the Spanish adaptation of the STAI were applied to a sample of 266 high school students. A multiple linear regression model was proposed, where anxiety level was the dependent variable, and the use frequencies of emotional regulation strategies were the independent variables. Gender was also considered as an independent variable since the data showed differences in anxiety level and in the use of emotional regulation strategies between male and female subjects. The model explained 46.3% of the variance, and the predictive variables were Self-blame, Positive Reinterpretation, Catastrophizing, Rumination and gender. Based on the findings and the previous literature, it is suggested that the use of adaptive strategies of emotional regulation promotes lower levels of anxiety, and the use of maladaptive strategies results in higher levels of anxiety.

In this research we analyzed the psychometric properties of the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) in samples coming from four independent studies: university students (Study 1, n = 392; Study 2, n = 395), general adult population (Study 3, n = 316), and athletes (Study 4, n = 533). Through confirmatory analyses we evaluated the following models: (a) two-factor model (Watson, Clark, & Tellegen, 1988), (b) three-factor model by Mehrabian (1997), (c) three-factor model by Gaudreau, Sánchez and Blondin (2006) and (d) bi-factor model (Leue & Beauducel, 2011), all of them in their oblique and orthogonal variants. Several models presented an acceptable fit, but only after allowing correlated errors and excluding the items alert and excited. While orthogonal solutions of the three models showed the best fit in Studies 2, 3 and 4, oblique solutions presented the best fit in Study 1. Cronbach’s alpha, composite reliability and omega indexes oscillated between .55 and .89. Considering the original theoretical model and the practical utility of the PANAS, we favor the model of two orthogonal factors, excluding the aforementioned items.
