This study analyzed the psychometric properties of the INECO Frontal Screening, IFS, in a population of polyconsumers of the city of Medellin, Colombia. The Psychometric analysis showed an acceptable consistency of the test: 0.7; with respect to its diagnostic utility, a cutoff point of 22.5 was estimated with a sensitivity of 80% and a specificity of 91%. As to its validity, evidence of criterion validity was found when comparing cognitive performance between the case and control group, obtaining significant differences: p <0.05, in each scale and total score. Finally, construct validity was performed through exploratory factor analysis, and the total variance explained of the 56% test was found, suggesting three factors, which contribute to the effectiveness of the IFS test to identify cognitive deficits in people with some type of neurological and neuropsychological dysfunction.

The present study aimed to analyze predictors of father’s involvement in day-to-day activities related to the child, from his perspective (beliefs about the role of the father), but also testing the regulatory role of the mother (maternal beliefs). Parents (e.g., education) and child’s (e.g., sex) sociodemographic variables were controlled. Participants were 241 Portu guese bi-parental families (father, mother and target-child). Multiple hierarquical regression analyses showed that only for care the models reached significance, and that the predictors of father’s involvement vary according to the domains analyzed. An interaction effect was found between mother’s beliefs and child sex, suggesting that mothers have a role in the way fathers are involved in direct care with girls. These results foster important questions for interven tions with families in order to promote father’s positive involvement.

The subjective well-being (SWB) refers to the personal experience in relation to the evaluation of life as a whole and by dimensions. This study evaluates the SWB of 5189 Uruguay-an school-going adolescents from 12 to 21 years old, using the Personal Wellbeing Index (PWI). Comparative analyzes were performed by sex, place of residence, and by age groups. Results indicated that Uruguayan adolescents have an adequate level of SWB. In the specific analysis by domains, it is observed that adolescents are more satisfied with their belonging groups in heir community and less satisfied with how safe they feel and their future security. Regarding sex differences, girls report a significantly lower level of SWB in all domains. No significant differences were found between the students of the capital and countryside in their level of SWB in any of the domains. With regard to the comparison according to age groups, a decreas-ing trend was observed in the level of SWB from the age of 15, which rises again in the late adolescence segment (18 to 21). The results of the study contribute to previous studies and provide information for the design of public policies, educational and clinical interventions with school-going adolescents.

Consumer decision-making is part of the purchase process. Therefore, as a relevant element for the evaluation of the purchase process, it is essential to have valid, reliable and culturally relevant measurements. For that reason, in this study the development and validation of the Purchases Decision-Making Inventory (PDMI) are presented. The general sample consisted of 518 Mexican participants, which were randomly divided into two groups, 300 for exploratory analysis, and 218 for confirmatory analysis. The results show that PDMI evaluated from its general components of emotional and reasoned decisions in purchases, present high internal consistency. The confirmatory factor analysis shows a good fit to dimensions extracted from the exploratory analyses. In terms of convergent, divergent, and discriminant validity, relations according to the nomological network were found, and the factors showed independency. Finally, from the confirmed structures of the inventory, spending per week was modelled, finding that emotional decisions turned out to be a positive significant predictor. PDMI is an evaluation tool with cultural relevance and appropriate psychometric indexes that can be used to integrate into consumer behavior models. Keywords: consumer behavior, psychometrics, economic psychology, expenditure, Mexicans

EnglishThe present study aimed to develop a model of the association of adjustment problems with aggression and victimization of violence in Colombian adolescent couple relationships. A sample was taken of 599 adolescents with ages between 13 and 19 years, schooled in public and private educational institutions of Bogota, Colombia. The Children and Adolescents Behavior Assessment System Questionnaire -version of Self-Report and the Conflict Inventory in Relationships in Adolescent Dating was applied. For the analysis of the data, a model of structural equations was used. Two models determined differentially by the sex variable are presented; In men, adjustment problems are related to aggression and in women they are associated with victimization, findings that offer guidelines for the prevention and intervention of partner violence in adolescents.
