In this paper, the pixel values of a gray-scale digital image are represented row-wisely, column-wisely and squarely as computational verbs. Eight standard computational verbs are chosen to encode local sequences of pixel values based on computational verb similarities. Compression ratios near 11 : 1 and 21 : 1 are achieved in the examples presented. Genetic algorithm is used to optimize the spatial computational verbs for verb image compression.

In this paper, a new algorithm of feature parameter extraction is proposed for application in speaker recognition system, which combines the traditional MFCC and the dynamic MFCC as a new series of coefficients. According to the statistics analysis of the different contribution by the dynamic MFCC and traditional MFCC, these coefficients are weighted as front-end parameters of the GMM, which would decrease the dimension of the mixed weighted GMM and reduce the computation complexity. The experiments based on the TIMIT and VOA speech database were implemented in MATLAB environment, and the results showed the speaker recognition system with the Weighted Dynamic MFCC could obtain better performance with high recognition rate and low computational complexity.

Uniform circular array(UCA) based on coupled oscillators is introduced for new phased array. A phase model of the array is proposed and a set of nonlinear phase differential equations are studied. Linear phase distribution among UCA is achieved using York's method for coupled oscillators array, causing error in beam scaning of coupled oscillators UCA, and the inter-element phase shift that can be varied only over the range (−30°, 30°). A new method to establish nonlinear phase distribution among coupled oscillators UCA is introduced which eliminate phase shifter. It is shown that arbitrary phase difference over the range (−90°, 90°) can be established by detuning the free-running frequency of each element, while maintaining mutual synchronization. This method can be used for electronic beam scanning in UCA based on coupled oscillators.

The parameters of CMOS device will be affected by the variation of temperature and process variation. Due to these variations, a ring oscillator implemented in CMOS process will not have an constant output frequency which is designed in CAD tools. In order to get a constant frequency, additional circuit is needed to compensate the variation in both temperature and process. After investigate the drawback of the state of art design, a modified structure is proposed, which don't need to use an op-amp to boost the compensation bias voltage up. Because no need of the boosting op-amp, the compensation circuit will get benefits to offset voltage, power consumption, loading effect and chip area, etc. According to the Cadence simulation result based on TSMC 0.18µm RF CMOS process, less than 2% frequency variation is obtained from −40 to 125 °C in three different process corners (SS/TT/FF). The total core power consumption is less than 220uW, except the external LDO.

In this paper, a new method for analog design reuse during technology migration is proposed. Previous works ignore the variance of technology parameters. Accordingly, bases on gm/id methodology and ACM model, our methodology adopts an extra pre-extraction step for parameters deciding. This enables a practical description of MOS transistor working state and is therefore more precisely in deciding the design freedoms of two typical strategies. The methodology is validated and results are compared with a common-source amplifier from 0.6um to 0.35um technology.

Peer-to-peer technology has been widely used in Internet information sharing systems, such as Gnutella, eMule. A reasonable dynamic P2P simulation model is very significant towards understanding P2P, especially the emergence characteristic. A model for simulation the dynamics of P2P network from a point of view of complex network is present in the paper. The model recursively adopts a new node or skips out an old node with different probability. In the scale increasing process, the localization of the P2P is achieved by definition of range selection for new nodes. As a result, the characteristics of locally discrete dynamic attraction can be simulated. Experiments show that the power law exponent of normal node degree distribution is approximated to −2.3, which is in accordance with Gnutella and the theoretical value.

As unknown environment for robot pose and environmental uncertainties, the robot localization and map building becomes more complex. A method based on Rao-Blackwellized particle Alter is proposed. First of all, summed up the shortcomings of traditional simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) based on standard particle Alter through the introduction. Such as algorithm complexity, lasting long time and unable to achieve calculation online. To solve this problem, a method is presented based on Rao-Blackwellized particle Alter, which is an algorithm that recursively estimates the full posterior distribution over robot pose and landmark locations, its time consumption and the number of landmarks become logarithmic relationship in the map, and little calculation, short time spending. The RBPF algorithmveriAes is verified by simulation experiment. The results show that, Rao-Blackwellized particle Alter algorithm is feasible.

Chopping technique is an efficient approach to decrease the low-frequency offset and 1/f noise of amplifiers. In this paper, a low-power low-noise CMOS chopper amplifier is designed. This chopper amplifier is composed of a two-stage amplifier. The high output impedance of the first stage and the equivalent Miller capacitance of the second stage amplifier constitute together a low pass filter to filter out the modulation noise, so the chopper amplifier need not the post low-pass filter, which can reduce the power consumption. The circuit of the presented chopper amplifier is designed and simulated with TSMC 0.18μm CMOS process and a 1.8V supply. Simulation results show that the equivalent input noise is 39nV/√Hz at 100 Hz and the power consumption is 117μW.
