Model Based Control of Battery/Supercapacitor Hybrid Source for Modern e-Vehicle 现代电动汽车电池/超级电容器混合电源的模型控制

This paper presents an original model-based control for dc microgrid supplied by a battery bank (main source) and supercapacitor (secondary source) for electric vehicle (e-Vehicle) applications. A nonlinear control approach based on the differential flatness theory is proposed. Utilizing the differential flatness characteristics, we advance simple solutions to hybrid convergence problems and energy management. To corroborate the proposed method, a hardware system is realized with fully digital estimation accomplished with a dSPACE MicroLabBox controller. Experimental results with small-scale devices (a battery bank of 120 V, 40 Ah and a supercapacitor bank of 160 V, 6 F) in a laboratory substantiate the good control scheme during a load-drive cycles.

Investigation of Critical Fault Clearing Time by Applying Different Excitation System Models 应用不同励磁系统模型研究临界故障清除时间

Evaluation of power system stability involves rotor angle stability which is done by determining the Critical Fault Clearing Time (CFCT). That is the maximum time a severe disturbance can be applied without the system losing its stability. Important factors to consider are power angle, moment of inertia of the whole power plant, X/R ratio in the net and which excitation system is being used for the synchronous generator. Prolonging the CFCT by changing reactance in the net or increasing the inertia constant by upgrading the power plant have been proven to be effective but expensive methods. The purpose of this paper is to understand CFCT and how tuning the excitation system can be a cost-effective method to extend it. Tuning in this paper done by monitoring the step responses on three different excitation models. Modelling and calculation are executed in a simulation software where a fault is simulated on one power line with one single 54.5 MW generator. CFCT is then first calculated with standard settings and later with adjusted settings. The rotor angle stability shows minor improvement after the tuning with different results for all three exciters.

Sectoral Spherical Dielectric Lens Antenna on a Reflector for Ku-band Communication ku波段通信反射器上扇形球形介质透镜天线

This paper proposes a compact sectoral spherical dielectric lens antenna on a reflector. The weight of the proposed 45-degree sectoral lens is significantly less than the original full spherical lens by a factor of 16. The unidirectional pattern suitable for Ku-band satellite communications, radar and other applications is achieved. Conventionally, a high-gain parabolic reflector antenna is low cost and popular for satellite communications. However, its antenna size is huge and usually installed on the rooftop. Thus, it is unsuited for installation on vehicles, aircrafts, ships and modern buildings. This paper proposes a size and weight reduction technique, where the 45-degree sectoral lens is installed in a corner reflector. A virtual source (image source) technique is employed to create virtual full spherical dielectric lens. The corner reflector increases the effective aperture area resulting in the antenna gain enhancement. It is found that the proposed antenna size is smaller than the conventional parabolic reflector and original full spherical lens with the same electrical performances. Thus, it is well suited for modern communication systems where a high-gain antennas are required.

DC-DC High Conversion Ratio Push-Pull Resonant Converter Based on Voltage Double Rectifier 基于电压双整流器的DC-DC高转换比推挽谐振变换器

A DC-DC high conversion ratio push-pull resonant converter with voltage double rectifier is presented. The main function of the proposed converter is to convert a low voltage direct current (DC) from the battery into a high-voltage DC with the isolated high-frequency transformer and the voltage double rectifier. The metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) and diodes can be operated under the zero-current-switching (ZCS) condition. The leakage inductor of the high-frequency transformer can be employed in one part of the soft-switching operation. A prototype for a 245- W high-gain converter has been developed and tested to evaluate the performance of the presented approach. The proposed converter was operated with a 220 kHz fixed switching frequency, a 12 VDC input voltage, a 370 VDC. The designed DC-DC high conversion ratio push-pull resonant converter with voltage double rectifier had a measured efficiency of approximately 96% near full power.

Method to Decrease Complexity in Engineering Design and Technical Systems 降低工程设计和技术系统复杂性的方法

In the early phase of product design and development cycle, the customer needs are transformed in terms of functional requirements. At the conceptual design stage, the designers conceive a design concept by developing design parameters to satisfy the given functional requirements. The relationships between the set of functional requirements and the set of design parameters are represented in a design matrix. However, the design concept often has off-diagonal element(s) in the design matrix. These elements consequently create coupling terms that increase the complexity of the design concept. In the Axiomatic Design framework, eliminating an off-diagonal element from a design matrix will increase the flexibility design interaction structure, therefore reducing the design complexity. This paper presents a method to reduce the complexity in engineering design and technical systems. It helps support the designer identifying which coupling term(s) should be eliminated to decouple a coupled design, also to decrease the complexity of a decoupled design.

PM2.5 Prediction based Weather Forecast Information and Missingness Challenges: A Case Study Industrial and Metropolis Areas 基于天气预报信息和缺失挑战的PM2.5预测:以工业和大都市地区为例

Air Quality Index (AQI) is one of the indicators used to identify risks associated with the air pollution that impact daily living. Recently, Thailand is one of the countries facing air quality problems with an increasing level of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) which has become a negative trend in the news and social media. The collected air quality information from sources are limited since they consist of missing data. Further study and research regarding missing data are required to obtain preventive and corrective actions. This paper has collected historical data from world weather online application programming interface to analyze the correlation between the various factors. The intuitive imputation algorithm called “Iterative Imputation based on Missingness Pattern Analysis (II-MPA),” using weather forecast data as a correlated factor to PM2.5 to impute the missing historical data. The comparison results show significant improvement in both imputation and prediction with the RMSE of 4.0 when using an unbiased dataset. This provides an alternative and fundamental concept for dealing with missing air quality data and is also a reachable predictive model for PM2.5 without using complex scientific data.

Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)-based Criteria Analysis for 3D Printer Selection in Additive Manufacturing 基于模糊层次分析法(AHP)的增材制造3D打印机选择准则分析

Additive Manufacturing (AM) or 3 Dimensional Printing (3DP) has globally gained popularity from using digital technology in various applications. However, process planning for 3DP is challenged by different materials, technologies, and printer sizes, which impact efficient and effective use of 3DP. In this study, we evaluate the factors/criteria that are related to selecting the best alternative of 3D printers by analyzing two types of decision makers, which are 1) 3DP technical experts and 2) 3DP users. Next, we employ Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) to analyze criteria weights for 3D printer selection-related factors. In particular, factors concerning 3D printed product, 3D printer characteristics, and material properties are considered in this evaluation with a number of associated sub-factors. The initial results show that the most essential factor for both types of decision makers is product factor, followed by material, and printer, respectively. Group decision analysis shows relative weights to be 0.534 (53.4 %) for product factor, 0.301 (30.1 %) for material factor, and 0.175 (17.5%) for printer factor, respectively.

Next, we employ Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) to analyze criteria weights for 3D printer selection-related factors. In particular, factors concerning 3D printed product, 3D printer characteristics, and material properties are considered in this evaluation with a number of associated sub-factors. The initial results show that the most essential factor for both types of decision makers is product factor, followed by material, and printer, respectively. Passivity-Based Approach for Overhead Crane Anti-Sway Controller Design 基于被动的桥式起重机防摇摆控制器设计方法

This research proposes a new anti-sway controller design using a passivity-based approach for overhead cranes. The cranes are modeled as a single-pendulum system. The dynamics of the system are obtained by using the principle of Lagrangian mechanics. The passivity of the crane model is derived and utilized, in conjunction with the Lyapunov's second method, to create the new anti-sway controller. The control objective is to track the velocity profile and reduce the load sway during transportation, and to reach the optimal performance of the closed loop system, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is applied for the controller tuning. The simulation results reveal that the proposed controller can successfully track the given profile and suppress the load vibration.

Understanding Key Enablers of Cloud Computing Adoption and Acceptance Over Time 随着时间的推移,理解云计算采用和接受的关键因素

Cloud computing has been increasingly implemented in various industries due to its benefits, e.g., more cost effectiveness, improved mobility and manageability, and enhanced content sharing. In Thailand, the current national Information and Communications Technology (ICT) master plan focuses to move into the era of digital economy effectively with cloud computing. However, many concerns, e.g., data security have been raised considerably in Thai cloud-based environments. To gain more understandings, this research aims to provide insights into key enablers of cloud computing adoption and acceptance and to compare identified key enablers with two different time periods. A systematic literature review and questionnaire-based surveys were performed. The review result from 46 original papers reveal 12 key enablers influencing cloud computing adoption and acceptance. These enablers were then ensured in the Thai government context by collecting data from 274 respondents during July - October 2017 and 216 practitioners during May - July 2019. The data were analyzed by stepwise multiple linear regressions. The findings indicate that two enablers (i.e., clear cloud usage policy and appropriate plan) continuously had significant correlations with cloud adoption; while three enablers (i.e., clear cloud usage policy, appropriate plan, and cost effectiveness) constantly had significant correlations with cloud acceptance, in both 2017 and 2019.

Improvement of Transmission Measuring for The Robotic Wireless Control 机器人无线控制中传输测量的改进

This paper presents the design, testing, and development of mechanical arms controlled by servo motors that are affordable for handling small objects. This system uses the Arduino platform which is connected by an XBEE module in order to communicate wirelessly with the computer and the robotic arm at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The robotic wireless control is developed to be able to interact with a user that is i.e. called graphical user interface (GUI) using LabViewsoftware. It was found that control arm to grip small objects wirelessly, effectively at near range. However, performance will decrease steadily for far distance communication.
