This research aimed to describe the characteristics of poor households including; age, education and main occupation and its relationship to the poor households’ income level of coastal communities in South Sulawesi. Descriptive analysis was used in order to find out a general description of poor households characteristics and Chi-Square Analysis to determine the relationship between social characteristics and poor household income. The results showed that the majority of respondents were in productive age (75 percent), had elementary school level of education (42 percent), and mostly work as fishermen (57.88 percent). Characteristics of age, education and main occupation have a significant relationship to family income. The relationship between socioeconomic characteristics with the level of family income was concluded that in the poor coastal community, productive age, education and occupation, were very important to get a better family income in order to maintain future socioeconomic welfare.

This research aims to discover the effect of Nature in Thomas Hardy's chosen literary works. The treatment of Hardy's ecology illustrates the roots of thought that have led to our contemporary environmental crisis. Hardy shares affinity by philosophically reconstructing society in the center of natural elements and images by introducing the true meaning of literary art and nature. Hardy self-consciously depicts the naked reality of nature, property, and the place of man as a reaction towards a mechanized and materialized culture that values technological innovations and expositions politically. Hardy has distinguished nature with his distinctive style and insight. Analyzing the work of Hardy helps to know the social and ecological critiques of Victoria on the relationship between the human environment that are biologically and psychologically fascinating and strange when it comes to placing humans into the universe. The research demonstrates how someone such as Hardy represented his knowledge of nature as a mere reflection of man's harmony or disharmony with his climate. Hardy promotes the belief that setting is an important and fundamental factor of human lives that has a direct effect on their lives consciously and unconsciously. Discussing different characters and their various attributes and functions concerning the natural world around them are of great importance for understanding the link between man and the environment. Hardy not only depicts in his novels but also in his poetry the portrayal of the true position of man in nature and the significance of this representation in human life.

This study aims to determine the effect of product quality (prodqual), packaging and prices as independent variables on the sales performance of SMEs as a dependent variable in Jagakarsa sub-district, South Jakarta (then called SME’s). This research is a quantitative study with positivism paradigm approach survey method. The population of this study is the customer of SMEs. Data collection in this study used a questionnaire containing 26 items that were distributed to 80 respondents by applied a purposive sampling technique with analytical methods such as multiple linear regression analysis tests. The results of this study indicate that there was a significant influence of those independence variables on dependence variable, then have a positive and significant effect as well.

The presence of Fintech has contributed to the changes in many industries in Indonesia. Among others, banking industry has been one of the most resilient to alterations and skeptical to disruption by Fintech. Using the data of banking industry covering national banks, regional banks, national private banks and foreign banks, from 2009 to 2019, this study aims to examine the impact of interest rate in pre-Fintech period compared to the impact in post-Fintech period. This study sets 2016 as the time threshold. Using panel data regression model, the findings suggest that the power of interest rate in changing the level of loans is lower in the post-Fintech than in the pre-Fintech.Additionally, in many cases, the power is even statistically insignificant in the post-Fintech. Reforms in banking loan regulation is necessary to respond to the presence of Fintech.

Due to the population growth, economic expansion, and urbanization, waste becomes a critical problem of societies. Zero waste policies are a great and important way in which local businesses take an interest to preserve our environment. Going zero-waste, however, is a hard and intense process because there are many challenges and hindrances along the path. This article provides an overview of the guiding principles to solid waste management and to look at zero waste management in Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. It also suggests mindful consumption as tool for zero waste management towards sustainability. Documentary study and literature review were used for data collection. The result shows that zero waste management needs to be developed step-by-step and it needs involvement of all stakeholders. It can bring economic and environmental benefits to the countries, but it leads to more financial cost of implementation and operation. Mindful consumption, based on Buddhism principle of right mindfulness, is considered a helpful and practical way for everyone to help their communities reduce waste through moderate consumption. With mindfulness, individuals care not only for their own wellbeing, but for others, communities, and environment. They will participate in source separation, reuse, and recycling programs as they realize that conserving environment and reducing the use of natural resource over the life cycle of the service and products can lead their lives more sustainable. The right understanding in the cause and effect of waste can lead people to engage in waste reduction, reuse, and recycling and move towards sustainable waste solution.

Kluai Nam Thai’ (Musa AA group) are rare in Thailand and it is at risk of extinction because of environmental changes and human behavior. Hence, the plant tissue culture technique is used for propagation. This research aimed to study the effect of coconut water on root induction of Kluai Nam Thai in vitro. The shootlets from laboratory were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with coconut water at concentrations 10, 15, 20, and 25% for 1 month. The experimental design was Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The results indicated that MS medium supplemented with 20% coconut water gave the highest average number of roots at 1.85 while MS medium supplemented with 10% coconut water gave the highest length of roots at 2.34 cm which were significantly different (p<0.01) from the other concentrations
