Rapid changes in society and education, and the demand for high professional standards as a prerequisite for successful student learning, necessitate a constant update of teachers’ professional knowledge and skills. In this context, coaching is seen as a powerful tool for self-development and self-actualization, which unlocks learners’ potential and maximises their achievements. The article focuses on ensuring sustainability in teachers’ professional development and improving teachers’ competence by introducing them to basic coaching skills which they can use to improve learners’ results and their relationships with educators. The discussion is based on data from the implementation of a coaching-based teaching methodology comprising 3 modules which deal with different aspects of coaching. The modules were piloted and evaluated on the basis of their overall effectiveness, and teachers’ and learners’ development. The participants in the study included 39 educators working in educational institutions in 6 European countries. The analysis is based on data collected by means of questionnaires for the participants, post-piloting focus-groups and individual interviews. The findings suggest improvement in teacher – student relationships, creativity, motivation, goal-setting, and job satisfaction. In terms of benefits for teachers, the highest values were given to the development of professional competence, and improving the effectiveness of teaching. In terms of module content, the participants preferred the linear progression from general to specific, thus choosing to focus on coaching essentials and basic coaching skills before moving on to their application in working with learners. In their feedback the participants singled out the topics of self-reflection, active listening and focusing on solutions as most interesting and useful. As for modules’ usefulness for learners’ development, the highest values were given to learners’ ability to set goals, followed by improving creativity, improving communication, and increasing motivation.

In a context of change and uncertainty for universities, it is important to identify, invest and support their vision for innovation in teaching, learning and assessment – in such a way as to adapt to the unknown. Innovation is part of the culture and is integrated into the strategy, operational plans and vision. The analysis of the genesis of innovative approaches to the development of universities shows that it is an example of increasing the sustainability of the educational system in the evolutionary period of development. The main purpose of this article is to clarify the types of innovations and innovation strategies of universities in Bulgaria. The main result of this article is the creation of a model for the formation of innovation strategies of the university. The main research methods used in the development are the method of analysis and synthesis, questionnaire research, intuitive and systematic approach.

The article focuses on studying the success rate of NSA “Vasil Levski” students in the period of distance semester examinations in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. The average exam scores between in-person and remote examination periods are compared. The following indicators were examined: the number of examinations held and the number of examinations passed by students; distribution in absolute and relative values of the scores obtained in the range according to the Bulgarian assessment scale; averages of the scores obtained. It has been found that the distance learning platform virtual.nsa.bg offers favorable conditions for quality online exams, which allow obtaining grades adequate to the knowledge shown by the examinees. The methodology by which test exams are created in the platform, and the security mechanisms developed when conducting exams significantly reduce the opportunities for examinees to artificially increase their grades without having demonstrated the required knowledge.

The pandemic has posed serious challenges to all spheres of public, economic and political life. This necessitated the development and implementation of a number of measures related to the new organization of work of companies and institutions. Communications – with external and internal audiences – have begun to play a key role not only in the immediate survival of organizations, but also in their successful recovery from the crisis. Crisis communications are especially important in this process. One of the sectors facing the biggest challenges during the Covid pandemic was education. Those working in the field had to prepare completely new communication programs aimed at process management. They also had to adapt their current communication strategies to meet the requirements of the environment. The material will consider the main characteristics in the communication of the restrictive measures of educational institutions in Bulgaria in the period 2020 – 2021. Some techniques and methods of rhetoric applied during this period will be presented.

The article consists of three main parts. The first part sets the framework of research demand and argues its relevance and importance. The object of the second part are the basic conditions and preconditions for effective use and acceptance of educational opportunities that the digital environment provides for educational purposes. The third part of the article presents applicable in the digital environment teaching methods in the direction of building the necessary knowledge and skills in students. The main goal of the article is to clarify and present the possibility for creative integration of digitally based models of teaching in the educational process in higher education in economics and how they are built into the system of collective and individual skills of students.

The aim of the study was to examine the development of speed and strength dynamics of motor characteristics in 15-16-year-old volleyball players in five training sessions per week for a period of one year and the application of objective tools for its assessment differences in motor potential between the beginning of the study period and one year later, at the end of the study. Methods: Objects are specific indicators measured by objective tools, as well as their systematization and analysis. Results: In the period from September 2020 to July 2021, a measurement of the motor potential of high school students in the education system was conducted. Conclusions: To derive the relationship between the indicators, an analysis of the dynamics was applied by mathematical and statistical processing to derive coefficients of variation and establish the probability for the p-value, as well as to measure students’ criteria.

The article discusses different aspects related to the analysis of specific cases of culture and heritage management, which are used both to identify the distinctive features of management approaches and to integrate them in search of synergies and beneficial interactions based on their mutual complementarity. Changes in the external environment of culture are considered primarily in relation to the economy, society and the urban environment with its typical infrastructures in order to achieve sustainable development of culture, which ensures that there will be no loss of memory and authenticity of cultural values on account of social or economic benefits.

The article presents the results of analytic-diagnostic work which was carried out on the basis of the educational institutions of Tyumen region with 250 respondents (aged 14 – 17 years old) in order to reveal the structural and content features of resistance as predictors of its development in order to improve the effectiveness of prevention work with addicted teenagers. We used Pearson’s χ2 criterion to evaluate significance of the differences between qualitative characteristics of the sample falling into one or another category (as revealed by testing) and theoretical number which could be expected in the studied groups of teenagers if the null hypothesis is true; we determined the most significant characteristics of resilient teenagers with high level of resilience.

This article presents an attempt to organize an education based on the constructivist approach in the study of specific contents of the curriculum in Chemistry and Environmental protection in the 9th grade in order to develop key competences. Examples from the educational practice for the formation of some key competences are presented – learning skills, digital competence, skills to support sustainable development and a healthy lifestyle, basic competences in the field of natural sciences and technologies, which are important for the Chemistry and Environmental protection education. The results of our work in this direction show that the active involvement of students in the learning process is one of the effective ways to form the desired competences in students.

Education for sustainable development (ESD) is a priority in school practice. It is a tool for achieving sustainability and aims to prepare young people for a balanced, harmonious and sustainable world for the present and future generations. The concept of sustainable development is constantly evolving and enriching. ESD is based on a three-component system: environment, society and economy. The paradigm for sustainable development is becoming increasingly popular in the education system. It integrates ESD principles into all levels of education. One of its goals is to form competencies for sustainable development. The research uses the methods of pedagogical research: critical review of the literature, content analysis of curricula, methodological modeling. The research focuses on the methodology for effective implementation of ESD in school practice. The purpose of the present study is to interpret highlights from the content of ESD; explore opportunities for the formation of competencies for sustainability in school practice; present models reflecting the main components of ESD and the interrelationships between them. This article contributes to expanding the debate on ESD and operationalizing the competencies for sustainability in a specific subject area.
