To achieve a competitive advantage in the industrial sector means a strategy promoted by senior management, based on the experience acquired over time and the capabilities that are formed or absorbed. This article proposes to identify if absorptive capacities (acquisition, assimilation, transformation, and exploitation) work explaining the innovation types developed by small and medium industrial companies located in Sonora. The cross-sectional research analyzes the data using the statistical method multiple linear regression in a model that includes the stages of absorptive capacity for each type of Innovation (product and process, organization, and commercialization) whose data were collected using an adapted survey, applied a sample of 89 small and medium industrial companies. The results show that assimilation capacity can explain all the types of innovation and exploitation capacity specifically explains to process and product’s innovation, which constitutes the main knowledge that is provided considering that each innovation types requires specific management and represents the current routines using knowledge in the companies studied, related to their performance.

Companies have undoubtedly become powerful actors in the international system. Apart from managing relations with other companies, they usually have to interact with other governments, civil society, and individuals in diverse intercultural contexts. This article aims to analyze the relevant elements of cultural intelligence in business diplomacy from a theoretical perspective. Through a review of the literature on the different approaches to diplomacy and international business, the manuscript shows the determining factors that contribute to success in intercultural relationships. Amongst the most important are the hiring and training of personnel specialized in International Relations to develop the skills to understand the political, social, cultural and economic context of a society, as well as cultural awareness to identify the determining elements in communication within intercultural business.

The wine production and distribution sector (wineries) are one of the most representative of the Spanish productive economy. Composed mostly of small and medium-sized companies, many of them family-owned and low-tech, this sector faces with difficulty the challenge of digital transformation that their companies need to maintain their competitive advantage and their position in the current market. The use, by these companies, of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to manage their relationships with customers, is indicative of their efforts to face this challenge of digital transformation. This study addresses, scientifically and far from business interests, a complete analysis of the companies in the sector that use a CRM system, in order to detect which factors, indicate a priori a greater predisposition to use these business management systems.

The literature on organizational justice and organizational citizenship behavior has consistently demonstrated the need to promote justice treatment to employees, regardless of the organizational context (private or government). This approach promotes benefits for both, the organization and employee – supervisor relationship. The purpose of this research was to examine how the employee feels from the perspective of how relevant is it to be treated with justice; how this translates into citizenship behavior; and the relationship between the variables in the context of a private company and a government agency of Puerto Rico. The collected data were analyzed using (a) linear regression, (b) ANOVA, (c) “t” test, (d) F test. The results indicate that organizational justice is related to organizational citizenship behavior and each component of the variables relate to each other. Finally, the investigator discussed the differences between these variables in both sectors.
