Aims: To assesses the effectiveness of surgical handwashing (S-HW) in healthcare workers (HCWs) in terms of organic material and bacteria elimination by means of bioluminescence assays. Methods: 62-HCWs were subjected to bioluminescence analyses to determine adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and colony forming units (CFU) of Enterobacteriaceae (EB) and E. coli before and after S-HW. A checklist to evaluate adherence to hand hygiene (HH) protocol was implemented. Results: ATP before HH (510.9/RLU) was reduced after S-HW (54.6/RLU), evidencing a significant decrease (p=0.001). Regarding the bacteria, 26.6/CFU and 4/CFU for EB and E. coli were reported before S-HW, respectively. After S-HW, CFU decreased for EB (21.8/CFU) and E. coli (3.5/CFU) without showing a significant reduction (p=0.679). Low ATP did not evidence a direct relation with EB (p=0.082) and E. coli (p=0.680) reduction. Surgical instrument professionals (p=0.001), general surgeons (p=0.001), residents (p=0.017), orthopedists (p=0.029) and otolaryngologists (p=0.029) evidenced a reduction in ATP after S-HW. Factors such as S-HW direction, surgical soap, moments and time of S-HW implemented showed a statistically significant difference in reduction of ATP, but not in CFU. Conclusion: Although there was a reduction in elimination of ATP, there was no evidence of a decrease in bacteria. This finding not only allowed to identify potential errors in S-HW processes, but also permitted to generate strategies to improve HH to prevent healthcare-associated infections.

Introduction: This article is a product of the review of the "Vulnerability of information, on the Internet of Things", developed from the Juan de Castellanos University Foundation in 2021. Methods: Review of articles and relevant literature on the exposure of information and some vulnerabilities in devices that are part of the Internet of Things (IoT). Results: Information, as one of the most valuable assets, is essential, which is why it is important to have technology, devices that are part of the IoT, despite vulnerabilities. Conclusions: Keeping information secure has become a challenge, because it is one of the most important assets of any organization. Its manipulation requires many actors and involves many factors, making it is difficult to control and protect. The constant emergence of technology and their applications in various fields, along with their relative ease of use and smaller sizes, have made significant inroads possible; we must accept that they are a part of the IoT. Originality: In the bibliographic review of the information, which results from the use of technology, how the IoT is vulnerable and even more so when it is configured with the Internet. Limitation: Technology is becoming more and more dependent on it, despite the vulnerabilities of IoT devices and the Internet.

Abstract: This article reviews the literature on the latest advances in microdevices for medical applications. The objective is to show an overview of the latest devices and their applications, as well as future development vectors in the area. A search of about 170 articles was performed, most of them published between the years 2015 and 2021, of which 53 were chosen as they were the most topical and impactful in the research fields referred to drug delivery, minimally invasive surgery, and cranial and vascular intromissions. It is concluded that, although microdevices are at an advanced stage of research, they still have many challenges to be solved, which has not allowed clinical trials to be completed in many cases. One of the great challenges ahead is to increase the precision in locomotion and to make the devices capable of performing more complex tasks with the help of smaller-scale electronic devices.

Problem: This paper proposes essentiality of the well-defined job design in such a manner, that the burnout must be reduced and further the employees’ performance can be enhanced. It will in turn help the organization effectively compete in the ever-challenging global market. Objective: Investigating the relation between job design and burnout in employees (managers) in FMCG companies. It’s done by assessment of changes in core dimensions of burnout with respect to Job Design. Design/Methodology/Approach: The assessment was done among 350 managers working in FMCG companies in Delhi/NCR. They had been given questionnaires to make assessment of the dimensions of different variables related to burnout. The hypothesis was made that job design and burnout have a negative correlation. Path analysis method was used to generate the model and got tested for job design and burnout. For the analysis of the obtained model SEM software AMOS 20.0 version was used. Conclusion: Sub hypotheses were formed by transforming the hypothesis. The hypotheses were validated by the results obtained from the analysis. It also substantiated that job design and burnout are negatively correlated significantly. Originality: The main aspect of this research was to examine the connection amongst these two variables i.e. job design and burnout. The resolve of this research is to examine the significant effect of job design in the alleviation of burnout. The major outcomes of the present research divulge that there is a negative and noteworthy association among job design and burnout. Restrictions: The correlation has only been validated amongst a limited setup of FMCG managers which gives a conceptual base. It can further be extended to other sectors of public and private companies and to other job roles and services. Various measures of management of employees can further be identified on the basis of this research finding to alleviate burnout.

Introduction: This article is the product of the research "Monitoring and Characterization of air quality in the downtown area of Villavicencio", carried out from 2018 to 2020 in Villavicencio - Colombia. Problem: Air quality directly impacts the health of the people who breathe it. Currently Villavicencio does not have enough monitoring stations, nor are there strategies to improve air quality. Objective: The main objective is to collect and analyse atmospheric and air quality information, to determinate the relationship between atmospheric variables and particulate matter. Methodology: Quantitative and experimental research in stages, a number of samples to be taken were defined and a statistical treatment was carried out. Different instruments were used to collect the variables. Results: The linear model between particulate material and atmospheric variables was obtained. The correlation index of particulate material with atmospheric variables was determined. The results were compared with regulations in Colombia and other countries. Conclusion: The results are within the limit allowed by national regulations. Linear models of the relationship between environmental variables and particulate matter were obtained. Originality: There are few studies related to air quality in the region. With the results, improvement actions can be proposed to local administrations to mitigate the impact on air quality in Villavicencio. Limitations: Sample collection time was limited, the availability of equipment in the institution where the research work originated also affected the scope of the work carried out.

In conventional monitoring forest protection, detection methods use optical sensors or RGB cameras combine features including smokes, fires and human-destroyed forests at national forests. This paper has presented a new approach using Deep learning integrated with Picture Fuzzy Set for the surveillance monitoring system to be activated to confirm human behaviour in real-time in forest protection. Picture Fuzzy Graph (PFG) are applied to solve many complex problems in the real-world problems. The paper has presented a novel approach using deep learning with knowledge graphs to find a human profile including the detection of humans in large data. In the proposed model, digital human profiles are collected from conventional databases combination with social networks in real-time, and a knowledge graph is created to represent complex-relational user attributes of human profile in large datasets. PFG is applied to quantify the degree centrality of nodes. To confirm the proposed model, the proposed model has been tested with data sets through case studies of a forest. Experimental results show that the proposed model has been validated on real world datasets to demonstrate this method’s effectiveness.

Introduction: This article is the product of a research project carried out between 2020 and 2021, with the academic support of Francisco José de Caldas District University, Bogotá Technological Headquarters - Colombia. Problem: Propose a construction material for the housing sector, especially aimed at the department of La Guajira, which currently faces a high housing deficit in Colombia. Objective: The objective of this research project is the characterization of 600 mL, 1.5 L and 2.0 L PET bottles, filled with sand whose particle size is 1.19 mm. Methodology: 12 test tubes were designed for each bottle size. The respective weighing process was carried out before and after filling; The tests consisted on applying compression loads, until reaching structural breakdown. Results: The different testing scenarios showed similar resistance parameters. The 600 mL size presented a higher breakdown load than the 1.5 and 2.0 L sizes. The breakdown loads remained within the range of 138 ≤ breaking load (KN) ≤ 240. Conclusion: The compressive strengths of the studied materials do not show significant differences. Resistance for bricks = 4.9 MPa and PET (600 ml) = 5.2 MPa Originality: The bibliographic review covers a variety of reusable products used for the manufacture of materials in housing construction. The originality lies in the behavior of PET bottles filled with sand for a particle size of 1.19mm, subjected to compression tests in the universal testing machine. Limitations: Only particle sizes of 1.19mm were used.

Aquaponics are defined as hydroponic crops merged with recirculating aquaculture systems and bacteria, achieving a synergic relationship that takes fish wastewater and uses it in order to grow plants, then the last one in association with nitrifying bacteria are used as a natural filter that removes dissolved nitrogen, ammonia, among others, controlling the fish waste accumulation. Nowadays there are different research areas in aquaponics, from ones focused on the applied techniques in aquaculture and hydroponic sub-systems; through applied sciences such as modeling from both physical and chemical systems; arriving to the types of aquaponics, qualified from technification grades; concluding with fish and plant crop species and their interaction. In this paper a systematic review is carried out in order to observe the research current state in automated, technified and traditional aquaculture systems, thus having a sight of the investigative orientation in this field. This review is based on scientific papers from four databases, taken in March of 2020, obtaining 1356 results, evaluated and filtered for further analysis. From the review it was found that there is an exponential quantity growth in papers per year, moreover, it is noted that the paper fields of greatest concentration are aquaculture, agriculture, environment, water analysis, horticulture and electronics, the most worked species are lettuce (Lactuca sativa) in hydroponic NFT and tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in single recirculating aquaponic systems (SRAPS). With the obtained data it was built a diagram that consolidates current research branches in aquaponics.

This review is based on scientific papers from four databases, taken in March of 2020, obtaining 1356 results, evaluated and filtered for further analysis. From the review it was found that there is an exponential quantity growth in papers per year, moreover, it is noted that the paper fields of greatest concentration are aquaculture, agriculture, environment, water analysis, horticulture and electronics, the most worked species are lettuce (Lactuca sativa) in hydroponic NFT and tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in single recirculating aquaponic systems (SRAPS). With the obtained data it was built a diagram that consolidates current research branches in aquaponics.","PeriodicalId":41023,"journal":{"name":"Ingenieria Solidaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47190095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
