Resenha de RIVER REVERY, de Penn Kemp CPenn Kemp é uma poeta canadense conhecida de brasileiros por sua produção poética. Já esteve em congresso da ABECAN (Belo Horizonte, novembro de 2003) quando falou sobre sua poesia performática, vindo depois a Porto Velho onde apresentou e representou alguns de seus poemas junto com poetas e músicos locais. Penn teve também alguns poemas traduzidos para o Português e publicados pelo Núcleo de Estudos Canadenses (RO) em parceria com a ABECAN. Hoje, aos setenta e sete anos, a poeta de London Ontario continua fazendo sua “catequese poética”, vivendo e escrevendo intensamente, congregando, articulando, diminuindo barreiras por meio de sua poesia. Sua inspiração parte de seres humanos e não humanos que comungam com ela a atmosfera ao seu redor, no sul de Ontario. Assim, Penn integra sua poesia a outras artes, trazendo, muitas vezes, o lúdico para sua produção criativa. Por isso é também reconhecida como inovadora na forma de apresentar seus escritos desde a publicação em 1972.

Este artigo tem como objetivo principal analisar quais fatores da estrutura social, política e jornalística interferem na cobertura feita por jornais locais da província do Quebec às eleições federais canadenses entre 2008 e 2015. Para isso, utiliza como método a análise de conteúdo (Bardin, 1977) em uma perspectiva quantitativa e qualitativa. Como principais resultados, aponta que 1) a estrutura de “corrida de cavalos” assumida pela cobertura é decisiva na centralização da atenção nos chefes de partidos; 2) pertencer à localidade é fator essencial na visibilidade da mídia local, filtro ultrapassado apenas em casos de altíssimo grau hierárquico ou elevada autoridade de contexto; 3) o posicionamento político dos jornais interfere em escala perceptível no tratamento dado aos atores; 4) fatores ligados ao jornalismo, como valores e critérios de noticiabilidade possuem maior influência na filtragem dos demais atores que conquistam cotas de visibilidade de alguma relevância.

The Canadian health system, recognized as one of the best in the world, is governed by five principles: universality, comprehensiveness, reasonable access, portability and public administration. Canada is divided into provinces that have great administrative autonomy. This article aims to describe and analyze the perspectives of managers in the province of Ontario on the occupation of management positions in the health area. This is a qualitative, descriptive research, having as subjects four managers of the Public Health sector in the province of Ontario, Canada. The data were produced from semi-structured interviews and submitted to content analysis. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of São Paulo. In the analyzed material, four categories were organized: recruitment and selection process; criteria for assuming the management position; indication, mediation by trade unions and financing. The following were highlighted by the interviewees: transparency in recruitment and selection, professional support and negotiation with trade unions; the public character assumed in hiring, through disclosure, selection and interviews. The results showed that transparency in recruitment and selection, professional support and the occurrence of negotiations mediated by the unions would allow hiring more adequate to the required professional profile and would favor the quality of life at work.

Integrado por tres partes, este trabajo inicialmente presenta una lectura del libro Estrellas de sangre de Lady Rojas Benavente, autora migrante, referida fundamentalmente a su poética. En tal sentido se ofrece una visión de conjunto de la estructuración, motivaciones temáticas, filiaciones artísticas, imaginario simbólico, género y tipología con la intención de evidenciar su identidad artística en el contexto mayor de la poesía de autoría femenina contemporánea. Completa esta presentación una conversación con la autora referida a Estrella de Sangre, particularizando en modos de crear, pensar y actuar en los espacios de vida social, cultural y literaria. Por último, se incluye una muestra de poemas que constituyen el libro.

Depuis 2018, le Canada et les pays du Mercosur négocient un accord de commerce de nouvelle génération. Cette négociation commerciale n’est pas sans défis. En effet, il s’agit d’une négociation entre une fédération (le Canada) et un regroupement de pays (Mercosur), dont deux fédérations, qui ont leurs propres logiques de négociation. Les relations commerciales bilatérales entre le Canada et les pays du Mercosur sont modestes. Les exportations canadiennes totalisaient 2,3 milliards de dollars contre 6,6 milliards pour les exportations des pays du Mercosur. Dans le cas du Canada, il est loin d’être certain que les agriculteurs sous gestion de l’offre en matière agricole, tout comme plusieurs premiers ministres provinciaux, accepteront des concessions en matière agricole pour un meilleur accès au marché des pays du Mercosur. Du côté du Mercosur, c’est le secteur industriel, notamment au Brésil et en Argentine, qui a tendance à résister aux concessions. Contrairement au Canada, l’intérêt stratégique de l’ensemble des pays du bloc converge vers l’ouverture du marché agricole. Hugh Hazelton is the translator of the poem “Speak blanc”, by Sylvain Campeau, a poet and art critic in Québec. The poem was published in full in 2019, and was then adapted for a video by Alain Lefort for the 2021 Festival International du Film sur l'Art (FIFA) in Montréal. It is a long poem that examines the roots of the Quebec people; their struggle to preserve themselves as a people, especially through their language, under British rule; the impact of the arrival of immigrants from all over the world who enter the Francophone sphere, while retaining the memory of their own languages and cultures; as well as reflections on the fate of French Quebec in the future. The author also talks about indigenous peoples and their languages and links between them, as well as a new multilingual slang that is emerging among young people of all origins lately. This text is a shortened version of the original.
