Advances in the field of technology enabled individuals and businesses to collect large amounts of data (structured and unstructured) from various sources like never before. Data from social media, user-generated, internet, health care, manufacturing, supply chain, financial institution, and sensors have grown exponentially. This paper’s objective is to review how big data drive and impact innovation, competitive advantage, productivity, and decision support. Methodology: A comprehensive literature review on big data and identifying the impact of big data analytics on innovation, competitive advantage, productivity, and decision support are studied. The reviewed literature created the foundation for studying, a model that was developed based on an extensive review of literature as well as case studies and future forecast by market leaders. Big data is the latest buzzword among businesses. A new model is suggested identifying big data and the correlation between innovation, competitive advantage, productivity, and decision support. Findings: A review of scholarly literature and existing case studies finds that there is a gap between existing frameworks and the integration of big data into various business and management functions and objectives. The findings are interesting that literature is rich with concepts and frameworks for achieving the end goal for business or management function along with framework but very little is available in the literature on the question of how to integrate big data analytics into those frameworks. This paper finds that a key question is missing i.e., what are the essential steps that businesses should perform to implement and integrate big data analytics into existing frameworks to fully exploit the big data potential. Research Limitations/Implications: The research was limited to a review of selective literature focused on in-depth understanding of big data. Additionally, it focuses on how big data leads to innovation, competitive advantage, productivity, and decision support. Although there are many other related fields of studies where big data impact can be studied but is not part of this study effort. Future studies can lead to more in-depth studies of other related areas of studies. Practical Implications: The review of the literature suggested that “Big Data” is playing an important role in innovations, creating competitive advantage, enhancing productivity, and assisting in data-driven decisions. Businesses are taking advantage of the customer insights that are innovating products and services which are very customer-centric, keeping the competition on the run, improving productivity at all levels, and making educated decisions every day. The future will be driven by smarter big data solutions and insights. Originality/Value: The study provides evidence that big data is the catalyst for innovation, creates competitive advantage, enhances productivity, and assists in decis

Communication is a very crucial and significant element in an organization, and it is necessary for creating collaboration within the work environment that has effects on organizational performance and decision making. This study on effects of effective communications on organizational performance using the systems theory is thus essential. The objectives of this study were to firstly identify the factors affecting effective communication based on the systems theory and secondly to devise a communication model that addresses these factors to improve organisational performance. A quantitative approach was used to describe and analyse data collected for the study from 88 respondents. A questionnaire was used to identify factors affecting effective communication based on systems theory. Descriptive analysis and Pearson’s correlation were used to analyse the results. The results for H1 showed a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.642 which is statistically insignificant if the (sig. 2-tailed) there was no statistically significant relationship between management and channel of communication used. However, the results from H2 indicated that there was a relationship between channel of communication used and effective communication with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.041 at (sig. 2-tailed) 3 showed that effective communication has a positive effect on organizational performance at (sig. 2-tailed)

Scientific progress, technology and industrial development in addition to globalization have allowed for the flow of a large amount of market information (capital information, investment information, labor, goods and services information etc.), which has resulted in intense competition increasing day by day because of the rapid technological developments, communication technology, electronic commerce and economic blocs. This has led to the industrial development of goods and services at an accelerated pace, and the development of business organizations under the pressure of intense competition and they must search for sophisticated strategies to stay in the market and the performance of economic and social tasks entrusted to it, and be able to compete and then expand in the markets locally and internationally. Entrepreneurship is one of the main topics in the economies of both developed and developing countries. Effective entrepreneurship contributes to economic development and the information era has led to dramatic changes in the work environment. Participation and technology have resulted in a faster pace the competition between local and international institutions, which works in an innovative way to disseminate information to produce products and provide new services to customers. The information era is also an incentive to restore successful traditional work patterns. As a result, innovation has become the main factor in separating leading institutions at all local, regional, and international levels. This paper aimed at measuring the characteristics of Entrepreneurship among postgraduate students from different universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain and its impact on entrepreneurship characteristics. A conceptual framework has been presented for a better understanding of the entrepreneurship characteristics topic which formed the basis for the topic under study. Using a quantitative method, 1000 questionnaires were distributed to target respondents comprising of international and local graduate students studying/graduated from different universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The responses collected were 930 completed questionnaires representing a 93% percent response rate. The data were analyzed using Smart PLS version 3. The findings indicate that entrepreneurship characteristics of the post-graduate students are a valid construct in predicting entrepreneurial intentions.

Considerations of CSR indicate that these companies do not only focus on improving profits but also take into considerations of non-financial information in their daily operating process. Thus, many firms have shifted their profit-oriented strategies to sustainable development strategies. However, annual reports cannot show the effects of these sustainable strategies’ adoption, therefore integrated report, which is long-term oriented and focuses on the impacts of a company’s activities on the capitals and on the interrelations generated by such actions, is needed to substitute the original annual report for these firms. This paper focuses on how economic variables affect Baa corporate bond spreads in the US from January 1990 to December 2018. Credit spreads in this paper are defined as the Baa corporate bond yield minus the Aaa corporate bond yield, and are explained by four variables which are interest rates, the slope of yield curve, the stock market volatility and the economic environment. Cointegration analysis and VAR model are used in this paper to estimate the effects of the determinants of the credit spreads in the long-run and in the short-run respectively. The impacts of the industrial production index and the slope of yield curve on the Baa credit spread are negative, and the impacts of 10 year Treasury bond rate and the stock market volatility on the credit spreads are positive in the long run. In the short-run dynamic relationship, the impact of the industrial production index and the 10 years Treasury bond interest rate are negative for the credit spreads, and the slope of yield curve and stock market volatility are positive for the Baa credit spreads.

The foreign trade market is one of the most effective engines of economic growth in Egypt. Given its importance to the Egyptian economy, the factors influencing export flows between Egypt to its main trading partners need to be studied. The gravity model and panel data method is an essential and common approach for analyzing bilateral trade flows. It has proved to be a valuable method for analyzing a country’s trade potential and bilateral trade. This study applied the gravity model with geographical and financial variables. Moreover, it offers a new empirical perspective to indicate that these variables have analytical power to explain several factors that influence the cross-country trade flows; this research explores the relationship of Egyptian exports to 36 global trading partners across annual data covering a period from 2000 to 2018. In its random effect model of the panel data, the gravity model results showed that the main factors influencing the Egyptian bilateral trade are Egypt’s gross domestic product, importer’s gross domestic product, the border factor, and the distance between Egypt to the main trading partners. Some variables have a positive coefficient, like population, trade openness rate, and regional trade agreements, but they are insignificant for the Egyptian bilateral trade. The language factor is negative and insignificant to Egypt’s trade. These findings will enable Egypt’s government, policymakers, and traders to make suitable decisions to develop the influential role of Egypt’s international trade.

The nonexistence of a plan for managing input (40% solid slurry) and output (product) of the tailing filtration plant (dry tailing machine) at Pakay Gold Company is a recipe for systemic disaster which points to the potential of legislative litigation with production and revenue shortfalls. This points out the need for this paper’s assessment of plant slurry threats or opportunities, sets an objective for management plan, develops premises and identifies alternatives of the tailing slurry input and product to enhance the development of a plan for managing the dry tailing machine. Furthermore, additional management plan steps that followed were examination and selection of alternative action plan for environmental toxic prevention model. Moreover, plan for implementation as well as supporting plans and review measures were done to eliminate any future legislative agencies litigation. The aim of this paper is to provide tailing slurry management plan that will ensure the eradication of any potential adverse environmental effect and litigation phenomenon that may be associated with the products of the tailing slurry filtration plant.
