Sound fiction genre takes a relevant position after the irruption of American productions such as Serial in the year 2014, whose success boosted its emission in other media as a series with the same title offered by HBO. In Spain, the conversion from podcast to television series hasn´t been produced yet, but we do have on stream podcasts that derive from television series, specifically, on RTVE platform. The objective of this work is to perform a formal comparative analysis and content of podcasts and series of television platforms in Spain and the United States applied to the first season of the following fictions: Homecoming and Dirty John podcasts, both of them broadcasted as series on Amazon and Netflix in the USA. In Spain, we analyze the podcast Carlos de Gante podcast comparing it with the series Carlos, el Emperador, and the podcast Bienvenido a la Pasarela with the TV series Estoy Vivo, on RTVE web platform. In the US, the sound acquires a new dimension both in its adaptation to the television format as an independent unit while in Spain, although it is a complement to the transmedia universe, it enjoys a quality and a projection that announces a rediscovery of the sound format. Keywords: Sound Fiction; Series; Television; Radio; Transmedia; Podcast.

In 1947, BBC produces the first radio drama on Don Quixote to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Cervantes’ birth. Released in Spain and Latin America in 27 chapters, BBC defined it as “the most ambitious project ever carried out.” The goal was to enhance BBC reputation in Spain. The radio play had the participation of actors from Radio Madrid, Spanish exiles in London and Latin American professionals. BBC surrounded with experts to adapt Cervantes narrative to radio language; deal with Spanish accents diversity; and compose music, which accompanied this radio version. The Quixote of BBC spread Cervantes’ work throughout all Spanish-speaking countries and promoted the production of other Quixotes within the radio in Spain. Keywords: Radio; Radio Drama; Radio Fiction; Don Quixote; BBC.

Following the growth, since 2016, of new fiction and non-fiction sound series in a large part of Ibero America, thanks to podcast and radio on demand, the task of analyzing the history of radio theater as a genre in Chile, from its roots and sociocultural importance to the new ways of producing and thinking about the genre in the 21st century is conducted. On the basis of documentary information, consisting of press archives, audios of radio theater scripts and the few studies on radio and radio theater, three stages can be elucidated: the golden age (1940-1970); the rebirth of radio theater (2003-2015) and the genre current boom period (2016 to present). While there are certain continuities between the first and second period, despite the temporary and technological breakthrough, in the third stage there is a new way of creating and designing these productions, with plots that respond to social and political struggles of groups that are invisible or discriminated in the public space, as well as in the way of circulating and disseminating them, without the radio being the key place par excellence for transmission as happened with the old radio soap operas. Keywords: Radio Drama; Fiction; History; Chile; Podcast.

In spite of the prominence acquired by dialogues among characters in creating a series, we cannot ignore that radio speech can be represented in turn by the narrators’s presence. For this reason, in the present article the emblematic Taxi Key detective series has been selected as an object of study, in order to determine the narrators’s appearance percentage in the series episodes, the narrator’s typology that prevails and the main functions that plays in this fictional product. It is an exploratory study in which descriptive and inferential analyzes have been made from Taxi Key original radio scripts. The results of the study reveal that narrator’s presence reaches the most significant prevalence in the episodes of the sample, being the autodiegetic narrator who stands as the most frequent type of narrator. Providing contextual information, acting as a nexus and transition device between scenes and assessing the characters or incorporating them on stage are the narrator’s functions that prevail in this series that remained almost twenty years on Radio Barcelona network. Keywords: Series; Taxi Key; Radio Script; Detective Fiction Genre; Storyteller; Autodiegetic.

The main objective of this article is to give a contextualization of radio drama in Spain, over a period of three decades in the last century, between the 1940s and the 1970s. Through retrospective analysis on its history some of the keys related to narrative and drama genres implementation are assessed. The research methodology used can be classified as theoretical-conceptual, since it has been based on the search, compilation and analysis of documentation that have allowed radio theater to be contextualized in those three decades. As a result of the research, the relationship between radio plays and social context is revealed and the contributions of the main Spanish authors and directors of radio drama in those decades are referenced. The final conclusion points to the fact that radio drama throughout radio history has been appearing and disappearing conditioned by programmers and public demand. Despite this, even by the end of the seventies, when radio programmers stood up for informative content, some radio dramatic serials would continue in the radio programming: La Saga de los Porretas (Cadena SER) or Sobrenatural and Historias (RNE). Keywords: Radio; Radio Drama; Radio Serials; Radio Soap Opera; Radio Fiction.

This paper analyzes Italian radio theatre evolution and its ability to put itself always in the middle between radio and other expressive media: theatre, cinema, comics, daily news, books and Internet. Starting from the analysis of the main evolutionary phases of this complex radio genre, this contribution illustrates the complexity of radio theatre as one of the treasures brought to light by media archeology, which lends itself almost naturally to disciplinary and media crossings. In this expressive format, belonging to media proto history, lurks a deeply complex nature and fervent creativity, which rediscovers in the ether an amplifier of the digital, a new space of expressiveness and diversification of its audience. Keywords: Radio Theatre; Media Narratives; Social Cohesion; Innovation; Creativity; Digital Renaissance.

This research aims to investigate the use of Information and Communication, Relationship and Technologies (ICRT) in a discipline of the Postgraduate Program of the Faculty of Education in Brazil. The ICRTs were used systematically in the meetings of the discipline and with social networks being the only environment used for communications and pedagogical practices. Online meetings were carried out in a synchronous manner and so that all students could communicate and interact in the virtual environment in a democratic way. The teacher applied three techniques, which he considered essential for the proper development of activities, they are: calibration, variability and collaboration. This study presents the results and perceptions about the use of ICRTs in a teaching-learning process that used technologies to promote an education that can really make a difference for our students. The methodology of the research carried out in the study was that of action research, in which the teacher uses the teaching-learning process as a research activity, ceasing to be a passive observer of the execution of the proposed activities to assume a participation position, reflection and constant change in the way it acts. Keywords: Online Classes; Education; Educational Practices; Social Network; Technology.

This work shows an analysis of the journalistic treatment of four cases of suicide of international celebrities in digital newspapers of three Spanish-speaking countries: Argentina, Spain and Peru. Two of them, Argentina and Peru, regulate the treatment of suicide through their deontological codes. In Spain, none of the deontological codes applied at the national level do so. The chosen cases have been those of Chester Bennington, Robin Williams, Tony Scott and Alexander McQueen. Our goal was to identify the degree of adequacy of the media to self-regulation norms and to the recommendations of health professionals. We did an analysis of journalistic content, deontological codes and international guidelines prepared by health experts. The results reveal the dysfunction in the informative treatment and the deontological norms regarding the international directives. Keywords: suicide; journalistic treatment; journalistic ethics; South America; Spain.

In the light of the growing divide between political identities on the internet, news distribution on social networks and the attitude of users towards said news has become a very important subject of study for the social sciences these past few years. This report presents the results of our analysis of formal news accounts activity on Twitter throughout 2017, as well as the interactions that surround them, arranged by account, type of activity and segment of interest. From these results, a few possible indicators are proposed for measuring user involvement, searching for an index that allows us to identify controversies in the discussion of news on Twitter. We conclude that the best way to measure involvement is by cross-graphing the amount of interactions per post and the proportion of retweets to formal interactions. This indicator could facilitate both quantitative and qualitative research on Twitter by identifying moments of high enunciation. Keywords: Participation; User Involvement; Twitter; Quantitative Analysis.

It is common to find in many democratic countries more and more citizens away from politics, with distrust in institutions and even delegitimizing the political system. There are several factors that may determine this political disaffection, which makes present through manifestations of cynicism, apathy and skepticism. Among them, the possible influence of both offline and online communication habits, such as media consumption and political conversation, has pointed out. To determine this possible effect, a panel survey was carried out during the last 2018 presidential elections in Mexico. Considering the O-S-R-O-R model as a reference, findings show a null influence of communication habits in the development of cynicism and a limited effect on the skepticism. However, there was an increase in apathy derived from both the consumption of traditional media and the development of interactive conversation. Keywords: Political Disaffection; Media Consumption; Political Conversation; O-S-R-O-R Model; Election Campaigns.
