Through a mount of simulations of power system emergency control, it is confirmed that action time of emergency control affects the transient stability of power system. This paper introduces control time component in the consideration of the existing emergency control model which is based on the dynamic security region(DSR). This paper quantifies the degree of system instability parameter after shedding loads and tripping generators at certain time when fault occurs. It puts forward a improved emergency control method with optimal acting time. This method can reflect the condition of the instability of power system and give the optimal moment of concentrated loads shedding and generators tripping. Simulation on IEEE 4-generator 11-bus system shows that taking emergency control at the improved method can decrease the vibration of the system, and minimize the cost of emergency control strategy.

Quality of Experience (QoE) becomes recently the most important tendency to guarantee the quality of telecommunication services. In this paper, we proposed a three-step approach to calculate the weights of KPIs in the KQI (Key Quality Indicators) / KPI (Key Performance Indicators) assessment architecture for QoE evaluation. First, indicators are classified into two sets (Static Set and Dynamic Set) according to their change degree represented by their standard deviation. Second, for indicators in dynamic set, a changes-sensitive method for calculating dynamic weights (CMDW) is proposed, which takes into account not only the relative importance but also the change of the indicators. And for indicators in static set, we use a subjective method to get the corresponding weights. At last the weights of indicators in the two set are combined. As a result, the weights determined using the proposed method can not only combine subjective and objective information but also reflect the change of the indictors on QoE evaluation.

Holography is a technique to record and reconstruct a three dimensional scene on a 2D plane, which is called a hologram. As a special kind of 2D image, the digital image processing of holograms such as gray level image binarization can be quite different from conventional images. The generation of binary holograms from gray level holograms can be implemented not only with conventional dithering or error diffusion methods but also sampling methods on the object image proposed recently. This paper compares the reconstructed image quality of binary holograms generated by the traditional error diffusion method on the hologram plane and the new random plus adaptive sampling method on the object image. The advantages and disadvantages of two methods are analyzed critically and illustrated with examples.

Achieving an azimuthally uniform feed is of greatly significance for induction cells in magnetically insulated induction voltage adder (MIVA). The azimuthal uniformity of feed currents around cell bores is affected by various factors. In this paper, the effects of several factors, such as adder impedances of the inner stalk, cell locations in multi-stage MIVA systems, and time spreads between parallel driving pulses, on the feed uniformity are simulated and analyzed. The single-point feed MIVA version is chosen as the basis of analysis. A 3D fully electromagnetic model without particle features is developed for a single cell and an adder with three cells in series, respectively. Simulation results demonstrate that, as adder impedances of the inner stalk and load impedances increase, the azimuthal uniformity is improved slightly, i.e., a higher MITL impedance is a bit helpful for current symmetrization. Simulation results also indicate that, the non-uniformity within the first cell is little worse than other cells downstream, however, the effects of cell locations could be negligible. The time spreads between driving pulses for single-point feed MIVA systems nearly not affect the distribution tendency and azimuthal uniformity of feed currents, while badly changing the waveforms and the numerical values of feed currents and cell output voltage.

This paper considers a multiuser two-way relaying system with time division broadcast (TDBC) protocol, where one multiantenna base station (BS) and one out of N single-antenna mobile stations (MSs) exchange information with the aid of one single-antenna amplify-and-forward (AF) relay. We first propose an optimal joint user-antenna selection scheme, which minimizes the system outage probability. Then by fixing the power allocation factor at the relay, a low-complexity suboptimal scheme is proposed and compared with the optimal scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes can achieve full diversity order and there is a small performance gap between them. Furthermore, the suboptimal scheme is more robust to the channel estimation errors than the optimal counterpart.

Speech processor is the key digital signal processor in a cochlear implant. The performance of the speech processing algorithm utilized by the speech processor is deeply relating the overall power dissipation, size and performances of the cochlear implant. CIS (Continuous Interleaved Sampling) algorithm is the most famous and used algorithm in the cochlear implant speech processing. This article uses a FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) filter bank instead of the traditional IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) or FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filter banks to process the speeches in frequency domain. It can easily switch the channels, and bring little extra consumption when increasing channels with the same FFT. A FPGA prototype is used for real speech timing simulations which prove the advantages of the design.

Microgrid should be operated in both grid-connected and islanded mode to ensure high voltage quality and reliability. In the case of continuous uninterrupted power supply, seamless transfer is important between the two modes, and synchronization of the voltage of the point of common coupling (PCC) and utility grid should be finished first to achieve the goal. In this paper varies of synchronization strategies used in different microgrid control structures from islanded mode to grid-connected mode are summarized, and a new method based on droop control is proposed. This method does not affect power sharing during synchronization procedure. Simulation and experiment results are presented to show the feasibility of the method.

Opinions are highly essential for decision making and popular among the internet users. People with malicious intentions tend to give fake reviews to encourage or degrade the products. Reviewing movies is gaining popularity among web users, at the same time cannot be trusted. In this work, we propose a model Sentiment Classification of Movie Reviews using Efficient Repetitive Pre-processing (SentReP) that is based on tested parameters and a focused pre-processing technique to classify opinions. Working on the Cornell Movie review data set, this work significantly proves the accuracy and effectiveness of SentReP across different volumes of data and when compared to other different prevailing approaches. Overall this approach is very efficient in analyzing sentiments of movie reviews.

A symbolic construction method allowing for parameter limit operation is proposed. Switched-capacitor circuits can be analyzed with this method by creating a symbolic z-domain transfer function represented in the form of a Binary Decision Diagram (BDD). Manipulating the symbols in BDD can simulate a variety of circuit faults, such as switch faults, capacitor faults, and opamp gain faults. Implementation methods are presented and illustration examples are provided.

As the penetration of wind power is high, in power system planning, it is difficult to acquire the detailed model of wind generators to be installed because of the commercial secrets. This paper discussed the mathematical models and typical control strategies of grid-connected double-fed wind generator (DFIG), and established the electromechanical simulation model with the help of power system simulation software DIgSILENT. Furthermore, two typical vector control methods applied in DFIG-stator flux oriented control and stator voltage oriented control were compared from two aspects which were eigenvalue and dynamic response. It can be concluded that when suffered a large disturbance, the proposed two vector control methods are quite different, and it is necessary to consider more detailed model in system stability analysis. On the contrary, when small disturbance is supposed, the results of two control methods are almost identical, which illustrates strong robustness and small deviation by applying general model.
