At the end of January 2020, the first meeting of the Synodal Path of the Catholic Church in Germany established four Forums concerning the topics: power and separation of powers, priestly way of life, women in the offices and ministries of the Church and sexual morality. These topics were prompted by the investigations of abuse within the clergy toward young people and women. This essay addresses how the third Synodal Forum, “Women in the Offices and Ministries of the Church”, outlines the theological lines of discussion regarding women's access to ministries and resumes the reform initiated by the Second Vatican Council in the Catholic Church in Germany.

The pontificate of Francis seems to have agitated issues related to the role of women in the Church. Women have begun to reflect on and reclaim their position in the Church and the Pope's words and gestures on the subject have shaken the foundations of the Catholic Church. The Magisterium of Pope Francis on women and their actions, inspired by the Second Vatican Council, are examined in this study. The actions of the Magisterium of Pope Francis have acquired new overtones that pose important challenges for the Church of the 21st century. This article aims to uncover the main goals on the Pope's agenda on issues related to women to understand his thinking, the background of some of his government decisions and his contribution to the place of women in the modern Church based on the frame of thought of 20th century Popes.

Abstract: Several contributions from liberation theology, feminist theology, and feminist biblical hermeneutics have been highlighted throughout the history of recent reception of the Magnificat. The aim of this study is to reassess the value of the voices of women authors such as Elizabeth Johnson, Mercedes Navarro Puerto, Ivoni Richter Reimer, and Luise Schottroff, together with those of other Lucan exegetes, both women and men, to make their refreshing critical readings explicit within the understanding of Mary. The hypothesis guiding this study affirms that several contributions from the feminist approach to the Magnificat (Luke 46b-55) have aided in the rediscovery of Mary’s image by focusing on her calling as a prophetess in solidarity with women.

The background of the power abuses in the church lead us to think about the logic behind both ecclesial power and the leadership. The conciliar theology of the triplex munus of Jesus applied to all and at the same time, to some members, left installed some doctrinal juxtapositions that have prevented the development of an homogeneity between men and women in the assumption of leadership and administration of ecclesial power. In this paper we will discuss the critical social theory of distributed leadership with the dynamics of synodalization of the church. We will postulate that a leadership built and exercised communally demands characteristics of power that are different from the current ones and entails as a correlate the inexorable inclusion of women.

The oracles of Isaiah 2 to 4 contrast a present time of political, social, and religious injustice and lawlessness with a new era after YHWH’s intervention. Gender models traspire in real and idealized examples, such as how Jerusalem women are only identified by their external attire while ignoring prophetesses’ and other female leaders’ contributions. These models serve as jumpstarts to discuss some issues concerning a feminist hermeneutics.

Women played a leading role in Early Christianity. Amont the different ways of this protagonism, the diaconate stands out above all, for its transversal nature and for its duration, as it appears already in tis beginnings, it will reach its greatest splendor in the fourth and fifth centuries, it would gradually disappear from the VIthe century on, and will be reduced to a marginal phenomenon from 12th century. In this article, after a brief introduction to these other forms of protagonism, the main references to this ministry in the Eastern part of the Church will be studied up to the fith century, in order to dicover its development, functions, and characteristics.

Abstract: The article explains the so-called ‘omni-insular’ theory based on the donation of Constantine. We conclude that the references to this Donation are few and circumstantial. Just in some cases can be testified that the Pope demanded an economical and periodical amount based on his rights over the whole Occident islands. This amount seems derived from the feudal context, the prestige of being the successor of Peter, and the recognition of apostolic protection. The intervention of the popes in the Portuguese and Castilian overseas expansion was based firstly on their condition of Vicar of Christ (apostolic authority) and secondly on the hierocratic doctrine of the Lordship of the World (Dominium Mundi). Key Words: Papacy, omni-insular theory, apostolic authority.
