Poor spoken English has been widespread among Malaysian public university students for decades. Many Malaysian students graduate deficient in English and subsequently face an abrupt reality shared by approximately 40,000 jobless fresh graduates each year: oral English proficiency and employability are correlated in Malaysia. The country’s private sector employers have cited poor English as one of the leading reasons for their rejecting applicants. Meanwhile, a limited quantity of articles has been published on Malaysian tertiary students’ salient verbal grammar errors. To identify such errors as a first step towards remediation, an experimental workshop was created at a Malaysian public university. Using an ethnographic qualitative research method over 3 semesters, an aggregate 50-week period, 27 main recurrent spoken grammar errors were detected among 95 Malaysian students, which consisted of 68 undergraduates and 27 postgraduates. This study attempts to provide a relatively explicit identification of chief spoken grammar errors by Malaysian public university students sampled, with example corrections. Core concepts in findings are intended to aid syllabus design and targeted remedial English instruction by Malaysian tertiary and school teachers seeking to more efficiently facilitate student progress, mitigate pressures on learners, and alter the outcomes for as many future Malaysian public university graduates as the findings contained herein may effect.

This study explores the effectiveness of the Klik Dengan Bijak (KDB) program content and message delivery through the content analysis method. KDB is a government initiative program by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to encourage positive use of the Internet by educating participants about Internet safety and security. In any program, it is important to study the quality of the message delivery to assess the effectiveness and quality of the communication materials. For this paper, the researchers conducted a content analysis of KDB program’s website, videos, educational materials, and social media postings; to assess the content clarity, likeability, informativeness, and attractiveness. The findings of the study reveal that KDB video is the most attractive medium and the website is the least informative and engaging platform. The results also indicate several other strengths and weaknesses before coming up with recommendations and suggestions to improve the clarity, likeability, informativeness, and attractiveness of the message delivery. This will assist Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to improve the KDB content for future programs.

The Covid-19 pandemic pushes lecturers to adopt new norms, particularly open and distant learning (ODL), in their teaching. The first lockdown had a significant influence on the educational system at all levels, forcing all the lecturers at the university where the research was conducted to carry on with the teaching and learning process by utilising any online teaching resources that were available. The research aims to determine the relationship between ICT-equipment readiness, content readiness, ODL training readiness, students’ readiness, towards lecturers’ readiness. It also aims to explore the influence of all four factors towards lecturers’ readiness. A total of sixty-nine lecturers from various faculties responded in the online survey, and the data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation and multiple linear regression. The result reveals the existence of a relationship between the readiness of ICT equipment, content, ODL training, students, towards lecturers’ readiness. The regression model revealed the content readiness, and ODL training readiness factors significantly influenced lecturers’ readiness. The significance of the study is to suggest the educational institutions to take initiative in providing staff training so they can create instructional materials that suit their students' needs and promote open and distance learning for them.

Abidah El Khalieqy's Novel Perempuan Berkalung Sorban tells the struggle of Annisa's life in the face of various gender injustices related to the way of view of the role of men and women in the Islamic boarding school environment. The purpose of this study was to describe the intrinsic elements that built Abidah El Khalieqy's Novel Perempuan Berkalung Turban. In carrying out this research used qualitative descriptive methods. It is used as a basis to express the concept of abidah El Khalieqy's view of the concept of fiqh which has been used as an example by society turned out to give birth to many legal injustices in women, thus giving birth to abidah El Khalieky's thinking to deconstruct it. The deconstruction of the fiqh by Abidah El Khalieqy is not on the content of the Haditsh of the Prophet, but rather on the interpretations made by classical mufasirs that generally place men above women. The Haditsh of the Prophet spoken at that time was interpreted by the scholars with his perspective and legalized into a law that patents are used all the time. Therefore Abidah Al Khalieqy deconstructed the haditsh with human consideration so that there is no inequality between the rights of men and women.

During the covid-19 pandemic, academics from higher education institutions who work from home confront multiple challenges, such as having to spend the entire workday with their families, children, or elderly parents. They must address distractions, time management, social isolation, lack of concentration, and emerging technology that facilitate online distant learning (ODL). The urgent need to acquire new skills to keep up with technology may result in stress and desperation. The transition to online learning programmes also eliminates a crucial part of communication: personal interaction. Therefore, this study will investigate the difficulties faced by lecturers at UiTM Terengganu who are required to work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Among challenges that are explored are time management, distractions, social isolation, focus, technology, and stress. The lecturers at UiTM Terengganu's three campuses were administered a self-developed online questionnaire. Descriptive analysis found that social isolation and distraction pose the greatest obstacles for lecturers working from home. To preserve the mental health and well-being of educators, it is necessary to address these two primary contributing obstacles.

Administrative and lecturers at universities are overburdened with a great deal of work. Occasionally, their job becomes so physically demanding that they cannot maintain a healthy work life. A committee appointment may overburden one staff member while under-burdening another. In addition to committee appointments, lecturers must produce a minimum number of research publications annually. Intermittently, lecturers are so preoccupied with administrative work that they overlook publishing their research. Hence, they require some form of reminder in order to keep track of their research publication. In order to control the imbalance of appointment and keep track on research publication among lecturers, there is a need of such system that allows the access and view of all staff records, including committee and publication records. Therefore, it is necessary to build an information system for staff information employing effective information technology. This application is called ISIS (UiTM Integrated Staff Information System). The development of this system is based the adapted waterfall model approach. he adapted waterfall model has five phases that consist of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. With this information system, it is hoped that it will help the top management to give equality of appointment to staff and help keeps track of records of publication among lecturers.

The purpose of this paper is to analyse potentially significant factors in a series of relevant characteristics of universities’ technology transfer offices (TTOs). Previous studies stated that TTO plays an important role in shaping the direction of technology transfer growth in Research Universities (RUs) and could increase the economic growth. However, the success rate of commercialization in RUs innovations are low when compared to start-ups/spinoffs companies against the Intellectual Properties Rights (IPR) produced. Therefore, there is a need to enhance the role of TTO in RUs to enable successful technology transfer. This study conducts a systematic literature review synthesis to identify role and responsibilities of TTO in the process of commercialization, determine critical factors for enabling successful technology transfer and understanding RUs innovation ecosystem for enhancing successful technology transfer. The results provide evidence that TTO which has appropriate institutional structure with entrepreneurial activities could facilitate development of academic entrepreneurship roles thereby motivating successful RUs technology transfer. These results are expected to improve the successful commercialization rate of universities inventions in consistent with the regional economic growth in Malaysia. Future studies are recommended to include development of a framework for nurturing strategic entrepreneurship within TTO to enhance commercialization of innovation through RUs technology transfer.

This study aims to identify the contributing factors of occupational stress among early career teachers and the trend of turnover intention among them. This study also intended to explore the relationship between occupational stress and turnover intention. The study applied a qualitative research design using case study and semi-structured interviews. It involved two early career teachers who are teaching English subject in secondary schools located in Terengganu. The sampling method used were purposive sampling technique. The findings of the study indicate that there are four main contributing factors of occupational stress faced by early career teachers, namely the workload, working environment, internal relationship, and principal leadership. The most prevalent factor that contributes to the occupational stress is the workload, which include warden duties. It is also found that early career teachers have the intention to turnover. The present study offers insights to the Ministry of Education (MoE) regarding the contributing factors that can affect early career teachers to develop the turnover intention. A good support system is crucial in order to retain early career teachers who are at risk of leaving the profession. This study also provides an understanding on the importance of revising the duties of the wardens among teachers in Malaysian schools.

Traditionally, the technique of delivery for calculation subjects requires extensive step-by-step training to answer a problem. This has caused students to feel bland, less interested, and soon bored. Therefore, a digital whiteboard has been integrated into the synchronized learning sessions to complete the educational experience. Interactive whiteboard is known as one of the most revolutionary instructional technologies for various educational levels. One of the popular applications among educators that can be used as an extremely versatile interactive whiteboard is 'Explain Everything' (EE) application. The purpose of this research is to investigate students' experience on the usage of the Explain Everything in teaching and learning process. The questionnaire was developed based on three main components; Learning, Interaction and Motivation which was determined by Explanatory Factor Analysis. In this study, students from Diploma in Computer Science, Bachelor in Computer Science, Bachelor in Business Computing and Bachelor in Mathematical Computing who were taught using 'Explain Everything' were asked to answer the questionnaire. The result suggests that the use of Explain Everything application in class does have a positive effect on students’ satisfaction towards the lecturer's teaching. The usage of a digital whiteboard may pique students' attention, engage them in their study, and increase their comprehension. As a result, educators should consider adopting Explain Everything as one of their online pedagogies.

Life expectancy at birth is regarded as a significant indicator of health status. In recent times, health economists and policymakers focus on the key factors that contribute to an increased life expectancy. Numerous studies have been conducted to investigate the impact of a broad range of factors on life expectancy. This research focuses on education of individuals as a factor in increasing life expectancy of individuals. Using annual data from the World Bank covering from 1992 to 2017, this study seeks to contribute to the literature on the drivers of life expectancy by focusing on how education influences life expectancy in Ghana. In addition, the study connects the impact of education on government health expenditure and economic growth. By employing the ordinary least squares (OLS) technique, the findings show that education exerts a positive significant effect on life expectancy in Ghana.
