Passive Bistatic Radars (PBRs) are able to detect and track objects using reflections from foreign sources such as broadcast and/or radio communication stations. Direct path and Multipath Interference (DPI and MPI) are one of the major problems encountered in PBR systems. They are defined as signals received directly from the transmitter through the surveillance channel; which is only dedicated to receiving targets' echoes. Except their Doppler shifts, DPI, MPI and the received echoes are coherent. To filter these interferences, different adaptive techniques are considered in passive radars' literature. In this paper, we aim to evaluate the well-known adaptive filters as the Normalized Least Mean Square (NLMS) and the Recursive Least Square (RLS) by investigating their impact on the detection of FM (Frequency Modulation) passive radar based on a real source of signals using RTL-SDR (RTL2832U Realtek Software Defined Radio).

Anomaly detection in hyperspectral images aims at detecting small size objects of unknown spectra. The major problem with anomaly detection is the absence of prior knowledge. Consequently, the extraction of true anomalies from the background and noise is a challenging task. In fact, the image scene already contains the background, noises and anomalous pixels and even in presence of prior knowledge, the differentiation between these contents is often challenging and can lead to a high false alarm rate. In this paper, a new approach for anomaly detection is proposed. The approach aims at generating knowledge about the scene before anomaly detection. This knowledge is derived from a semi-supervised SVM classification based on the betweenness centrality clustering of the spatial and spectral graph of the image. Anomaly detection is performed then, based on the Mahalanobis distance between different classes of the image. Our experimental results show improvement in the detection rate compared to the benchmark anomaly detectors.

Face increasing demands, the Moroccan hospitals need currently to understand the complexity of the hospitable system at several levels and one of them is medicine drugs supply chain. The medicine drug is a strategic element in the medical policy. Considering the importance of this product in hospital, we propose decision-making models that allow help pharmaceutical staff and we take as example a hospital in Morocco which will allow revise an inventory management system.

In high performance grid-connected PV systems, deploying a power electronics converter capable of operating effectively in the presence of any single point of failure is essential. One of the main advantages of Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) Multilevel Inverter (MLI) is the modularity. Moreover, the association of a quasi Z-Source (qZS) network with a CHB MLI was deeply investigated in the last decade for grid-tied PV systems. This structure is considered as a single-stage DC/AC topology having the capability of boosting the DC input voltage with high-quality multilevel AC voltage, independent DC-link voltage compensation, and control of the power transfer with high reliability. Thus, this topology suits well fault-tolerant PV systems due to the modularity of the CHB inverter and the flexibility of the qZS network in controlling the DC-link voltage even under faults. However, the effective operation of the MLI needs a continuous monitoring to detect abnormalities and faults to provide more effective and less interrupted energy supplies. The Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EWMA) method has been proved to be among the most effective univariate techniques to detect small and moderate faults. Thus, this paper presents an effective EWMA based fault detection technique for a 3-phase 3-cell qZS-CHB MLI. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed technique in detecting faults compared to the conventional Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test (GLRT) technique.

This paper presents a system for spoken term detection in a continuous speech stream. Spoken terms are predefined through a set of acoustic examples provided by the users. Spoken term detection proceeds in two steps: speech segmentation and term verification. We suggest the use of an acoustic-based algorithm for the segmentation which exploits acoustic particularities of the speech stream to detect word frontiers. From the segmentation stage a collection of utterances are delimited, and they are aligned with the spoken term acoustic representation. Tests were conducted on an Arabic corpus using spectral features of the signal. A correct detection rate of about 100% was reached with a false alarm of 20%.

this paper presents a low-supply voltage LC Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) which operates at 1.6 GHz, the latter is designed using TSMC 130 nm CMOS RF Technology. The varactor configuration used in this work is A-MOS. This VCO design achieves −123.201 dBc/Hz and −132.57 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz and 3 MHz offset frequencies, respectively. The VCO consumes 1.62 mW from 1.2 V supply. The calculated Figure-of-Merit (FoM) of the proposed VCO reaches −185.1 dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset.

In this paper, we propose an approach combining behavioral and targeting techniques for a better reaction of the customer with a star product using a personalized ubiquitous advertisement. We use the clustering to study the customers behavior. In order to validate our approach, we develop a prototype to send a personalized advertisement to loyal customers in an ubiquitous environment. Each target receives the advertising according his degree of loyalty obtained by the behavioral analysis.

The design of the power source in the Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicle (FCHEV) is an attractive area in transport applications. The FCHEV combines a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) and an Ultra-Battery (UB). A suitable UB is deployed, in FCHEV, for a backup system using efficient energy management. The UB aims to guarantee a rapid transfer of power during transient responses and a permanent power during the absence of hydrogen. To ensure the required power, EMSs have been proposed. An efficiency band UB Partial Load State (PSoCUB) is used to evaluate the proposed design. Therefore, the reliability of our model is tested and evaluated through different results using Matlab / Simulink environment.

This paper addresses the application of an efficient and an economical method in term of enhancing voltage stability. We propose to combine the performances of SVC (Static VAR Compensator) and TCSC (Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator) to reach those of UPFC (Unified Power Flow Controller), the most pricey and polyvalent FACTS device (Flexible AC Transmission Systems). In this way, we assure stable power system operation while avoiding costly investments. For the placement of the proposed FACTS, we opt for applying a simple heuristic method. This would provide firm bases for the comparison. The investigation of the proposed idea and the comparative studies are performed in the IEEE 14-Bus system under EUROSTAG environment.
