This research aimed to improve the students’ listening in autonomous learning using Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL), this research was conducted in SMAN 18 Bulukumba. The data had been counted by the researcher, then the researcher consider about the implementation of autonomous learning using MALL.In conducted this research, the researcher gave the students autonomous learning and the students work. The data were got using the test for the students, then the data counted by researcher by using Classroom Action Research method of data collection technique, and also through documentation with 32 students in the classroom. The Results of this research showed that autonomous learning using Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) can improve the students’ listening, especially in Respond and Understand of their mobile phone by using several applications podcasts; it proven by the results of the test, where the students’ achievement in listening respond and understand was shown by the students’ scores in D-test (50 and 55.7), Cycle I (60.3 and 60), and Cycle II (81.1 and 71.). Hopefully, the result of this research is able to be replicated by SMAN teachers and students in solving similar problems faced in autonomous learning using Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL).

Morphosyntax is nice material in the learning process with various activities. This study was described as Collaborative Action Research (CCAR), it proposed brain mapping based on freedom of learning as the strategy for English students to solve the students’ problems in understanding reading Morphosyntax material such as (1) lack of vocabulary mastery, (2) unrich reading subskill, (3) lack of critical reading, (4) afraid to share ideas based on what their read and background knowledge. Brain mapping toward pre-implementing, implementing, and result implementing of brain mapping could be reaching the target of the goal reading skill in morphosyntax materials with an average score of 81. Studying English with freedom of learning has a positive effect on students. Most of the students could understand what they read in morphosyntax material, so they could share their ideas, and students’ participation in the classroom was highly positive.

EFL students have to master vocabulary in order to understand the material in the classroom. However, based on the observation in one of the private junior high schools in Malang, students have low vocabulary and face difficulties in understanding sentences. It happens because the teacher is too focused on using one kind of traditional technique where the book acts as the main source of learning. This case causes the limitation of vocabulary. Therefore, this study aims to find out the students’ perspective on the use of a teaching media for vocabulary mastery namely immersive video. To solve this problem, the researchers formulated a research question, how are students’ opinions towards the use of immersive video in vocabulary mastery? The method used was a mixed method by applying quantitative and qualitative approaches. The participants were 7th graders that consisted of 60 students in total. The data was collected through questionnaires and interviews. The findings show that students enjoy the learning process when immersive video is used. It helps them to remember vocabulary in the long term. In addition, it makes students become more active in learning vocabulary.

This research investigated the students' attention level in teaching and learning of English. The purposes of this research were to find out the students’ attention level and to find out the most dominant factor affecting the students’attention in teaching and learning of English. This research used a descriptive design with questionnaires as the data collection method. The researcher distributed the questionnaires at the end of English class. The data collected through the questionnaires were analyzed by using Walizer's (1990) formula to answer the research questions. In this research, the result showed that the level of students' attention in teaching and learning of English was at the moderate level and the most dominant factor affecting students' attention was the internal factor.

This paper presents the study of rhetorical moves on thesis abstracts of accounting students at the Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu. The motive of this research is to examine how far students' understanding is in using rhetorical moves in their thesis abstracts. Under the qualitative descriptive method, 20 abstracts are taken randomly based on the thesis abstract, which was being proofread at Language Center Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu, 2021. Data were further discussed in the light of rhetorical moves by Swales. Based on the results of the analysis, this study revealed different forms of rhetorical moves; the highest sequence and frequency on Move 3 (research method) and Move 4 (results) were 100% occurrences according to Jhon Swales' concept. Furthermore, move 2 (research aim) has a higher sequence and frequency, it was 80% occurrence. Unsimilar, move 1 (situating research) and Move 5 (conclusion) as the smallest sequence and are frequent due to the abstracts not correctly presenting some steps of rhetorical moves as proposed by Swales. To sum up, this study has set out the findings; mostly accounting students have followed the rhetorical moves in their thesis abstracts on Move 3 and Move 4. However, their understanding of Move 1 and 5 must be revised for generating better abstracts.

Since its independence, the Indonesian government has recognized English as one of the most important international languages for communication. As a result, the government has suggested that English become a mandatory subject in Junior High School. According to Nurkamto (2003), English is taught and utilized as a foreign language in Indonesia (FL). Bahasa Indonesia is our native or first language (L1). As a result, the teachers' perceptions of using L1 in the classroom are more appealing to discuss. The qualitative case study approach was employed in this study to evaluate teachers' perceptions about the use of LI in the EFL classroom. The researcher employed interviews to collect data for this study. The interview was conducted once in order to obtain information on the teachers' perceptions about the use of L1 in the EFL classroom. Because they had been teaching for several years, the researcher selected three English teachers from SMP NEGERI 3 Muncar to participate in this study. They also have a lot of experience attending workshops and seminars to further their professional growth. In assessing the data, the researcher used Creswell's (2012) model
