A Si micro-ring modulator with 7.5μm small radius has been demonstrated on a Si-on-insulator (SOI) chip. 45Gb/s open eye with above 2.52dB extinction ratio through 3.3 Vpp has been attained in low electrical parasitic.

Mitigation of Scintillation Effect Using Spectrum-Sliced Incoherent Light Source for Free-Space Optical Communication 利用谱片非相干光源缓解自由空间光通信中的闪烁效应

We propose to utilize the spectrum-sliced incoherent light source for mitigating the adverse effects of atmospheric turbulence in free-space optical communication systems. We show through computer simulation based on phase screens that this cost-effective light source improves the scintillation index and receiver sensitivity under strong turbulence conditions.
