Successful lasing of buried heterostructure GaInAsP SCH MQW laser diode on silicon substrate has been achieved. BH laser structure was obtained by wet etching and a few steps MOVPE regrowth using directly bonded InP/Si substrate.

We experimentally demonstrate the transmission of a net rate of 250 Gb/s/lambda using PAM-6 and PAM-8 IMDD over 1-km single-mode fiber using commercially available components. A power sensitivity of -6dBm (-5dBm) is achievable for PAM-6 (PAM-8).

We have grown InAs quantum dots on InP and directly bonded InP/Si substrate using MOVPE where the strain of GaInAsP second cap layer were changed. We have investigated the density, size and optical characteristics dependent on difference of lattice mismatch of strain compensation layer.

We propose a compact angle-of-arrival (AoA) tracking system without requiring the beacon light. The proofof-concept experimental demonstration shows that the proposed system improves the tolerance to AoA fluctuations by ~3 times.

A novel routing, core and spectrum assignment (RCSA) algorithm based on reinforcement learning is proposed for space division multiplexing elastic optical networks (SDM-EONs). The algorithm introduces two metrics that measure the spare capacity of the network in terms of the inter-core crosstalk in multi-core fibers and the efficiency of spectrum resource utilization. Numerical simulations indicate that it can enhance the network capacity by up to 46.8% and 10.4%, compared with two conventional schemes.
