ABSTRACT This study aimed to explore the foundations and components of the development of the Quality of Life Research Centre (QLRC) in universities in the light of global models. The study adopts the analysis of the conceptual and organisational frameworks of QLRC and a survey to gain most important global models of QLRCs in universities. The researcher used the descriptive documentary approach and the method of the source-content analysis as they best match the objectives of the current study. The study population included QLRCs (think tanks) in universities in China, the USA, Canada, the UK and Australia. Findings revealed that it is difficult to formulate a specific definition of quality-of-life concept because this concept is linked to the cultural factors of each society, and that QLRCs are a new entrant to the development of scientific research in universities, and also that these centres enhance the knowledge of well-being for policymakers and the wider public as well as build and improve relationships between scholars and relevant stakeholders from various sectors in the society

ABSTRACT The literature reveals the indispensable role of mentoring in practice teaching. However, little is known about the mentoring support the Filipino cooperating teachers (CTs) extended to their practice teachers (PTs). Also, no study has been conducted yet on mentoring using a constructively aligned scale with the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST). Through sequential explanatory mixed-method design, this study determined the extent of CTs’ mentoring support from the viewpoint of the PTs. There were 840 PTs (680 females, 160 males) from a public university who participated in the survey using the Mentoring Practices Scale. Besides, 25 randomly selected PTs’ portfolios were content analysed to substantiate the quantitative data. Findings revealed that the CTs provided mentoring to a very great extent along with personal, career, professional knowledge, instructional process, and role modelling supports. Indeed, though preliminary research, this study serves as a take-off for strengthening the mentoring activities to benefit both Filipino CTs and PTs.

ABSTRACT The aim of the paper is to explore the effectiveness of Communication Skills Training Program in Developing Some Visual Perception and Writing Readiness Skills for Kindergarten Children. A semi-experimental, pre-post-test for the two groups (experimental and control) was employed. Participants were 30 children. They aged between 5 and 5.7 years (M=5.3 years, SD=0.984). Two groups were constructed with equal number of children for each (experimental = 15 children, of which 9 were girls, while 6 were boys, and control = 15 children, of which 10 were girls, while 5 were boys). A program was applied to the experimental group (12 sessions; 3 sessions per week; each session lasts for 20-25 minutes, total period or application = 4 weeks, that is a month). Results advocate the effectiveness of the employed raining program.

ABSTRACT This study aims to identify the challenges of implementing online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspectives of faculty members of pre-service teachers affiliated with the special education program at King Saud University (KSU). Four challenges have been investigated: those related to students, faculty members, technology, and administration. The study adopted the descriptive approach and used a survey as a data collection tool. The sample consisted of 55 faculty members working at the pre-service teachers’ programs affiliated with the special education department at KSU. Findings revealed challenges that hinder implementing online learning, as follows: challenges related to students was first, followed by those related to technology, faculty members and administration. The study concludes that such challenges should be sorted out to help achieve the objectives of online learning

ABSTRACT Mobile learning, which can be performed through numerous applications that run on smartphones, personal digital assistants, and other devices, has played a major role in education, especially during under the restrictive conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper is a review of literature of mobile learning efficiency in education. Some application of m-learning in education have shown extensive success. Mobile learning could meet with success in a suitable learning environment. The recently developed transactional distance theory focuses on three elements in the connection and involvement in the distance education environment, namely, the teacher, the student, and dialogue. The core of that theory is investigating the ways that the learner can progress to becoming a self-directed learner with the support of the teacher. Though there are advantages to m-learning, there are some disadvantages of m-learning such as technical, physical and health issues

ABSTRACT The study of scientific research integrity, critical thought, standards of evaluating assumptions and commitment to COPE represents the third constituent of HIEPs: High Impact Educational Practices. It is a twodimensional study that focuses on the relationship between integrity and the actual level of commitment to Code of Publication Ethics among the post graduate students in Northern Border University. This study commences with a brief investigation of the positive scientific research reality and expose the role of COPE-based acquired skills to enhance students’ research and scientific research skills in post graduate studies. By following a qualitative analysis methodology, post graduate students’ research orientations are compiled, studied and interpreted. The findings of this study will contribute to increasing scientific research integrity and the scientific responsibility of all; and more importantly, this responsibility would be shared by students and supervisors who want to ethically carry out scientific research supervision to enhance integrity.

ABSTRACT This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of employing puppetry as a pedagogical tool in developing imagination for kindergarten children Thirty-six kindergarten children were recruited from two public kindergarten schools in Riyadh city, during the academic year 2019-2020. Children were randomly divided into two groups of experimental and control, with equal number of children in each group (n=18). The research used the quasi-experimental approach due to its suitability to the nature of the research, which relies on the experimental design based on two groups, one experimental and the other is control, and by using the pre- and post-testing for the two groups. T-test was used. As predicted, puppetry resulted in increasing creative thinking skills (fluency, originality and imagination).

ABSTRACT The development of the team of Department Heads at universities is to build, plan, select, train, arrange, appoint, use, foster as well as create the environment and motivation for this team to work under the conditions of universities with high requirements for expertise, leadership, management and other capacities to develop human knowledge. The study of practical issues on the development of Department Heads at universities in Vietnam contributes to clarify the situation of human resource development in higher education to assess the current training quality. This study was conducted on the basis of the opinions of 281 heads of departments, administrators at faculty level, schools and lectures from 5 universities in different regions in Vietnam. The results show that the current team of Department Heads in Vietnam has many strengths but also many limitations that need to be overcome, such as the application of information technology in management, foreign language ability, and international cooperation.

The denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes (DTNT and SNT’s) are one of the most subjugated groups in Indian society. Due to the historic injustice they continue to remain at the periphery of development and struggling for their constitutional right to justice, equality and freedom. This paper attempts to explore few intricate questions for instance: Why they are not accommodated and represented adequately as legitimate citizens of democracy? and Are they victims of the politics of accommodation and the targets of developmental governmentality? To investigate the research problem under investigation the paper applies critical discourse method and “politics of accommodation and governmentatility” as prime theoretical foundations. The paper concludes that (DTNT and SNT’s) have become the hapless victims of the politics of accommodation since colonial period and the post-colonial state also failed to decolonise this false construction tactically. The paper suggest that the meaningful accommodation of (DTNT and SNT’s) in the democratic structures is centred on i) how state and the larger society build necessary and sufficient conditions and ii) time bound strategic action framework for the legitimate dialog with democratic and political institution for the welfare of historically vulnerable masses.

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine lecturers’ views on online mathematics education and to get suggestions for its improvement. The participants of the study consist of 15 people who work as instructors in a private university. In the study, the quantitative-qualitative mixed pattern model was used. The data were collected from the participants with the help of an online form containing questions about sex, age, pedagogy status, computer usage levels and ten questions related to research. Participants expressed many positive and negative opinions on the online mathematics education process. Responses were analyzed as the opinions of the lecturers with/without pedagogical formation. According to the data obtained, faculty members with pedagogical formation argue that online mathematics education is appropriate in all aspects; however, those without a pedagogical formation are often against online mathematics education. Recommendations developed as a result of the findings are presented at the end of the study.
