Maybe it started as traditionally and old-fashion as possible, just with billboards and postcards. Then radio. Television. Digital billboards on the streets. Telephones. Internet. And from the internet.. things just exploded – an unprecedented explosion. The internet was maybe the Big Bang of the advertising. The moment advertising have started expanding everywhere and in any possible shape: videos, photos, articles, bots, GIFs, voices, online advertising, personalised advertising, targeted advertising, display advertising, search advertising, programmatic advertising, advertising by use of the internet-of-things (IoT). When one could say that the state of arts in advertising was reached and that expanding advertising universe started to cool down, technology went further again. A virtual and limitless world has been created and with it, the potential of advertising has been once again unveiled. Advertising was re-born in a new universe, the metaverse, claimed to be lawless. This paper will focus on how ‘lawless’ is the advertising in the metaverse and what possible legal issues might be encountered by publishers, advertisers, influencers and consumers.

As newcomers to the host country, international students face unique challenges when it comes to the healthcare service, such as the language barrier. The challenges lead to a low utilization rate of the healthcare service in the population of international student. This paper aims to find out the main reason behind the phenomenon and explore how to improve the health and welfare of the international students. A nested case study approach is used and the United States and the United Kingdom are the two countries for comparison. We found that benefiting from a simpler system, international students in the UK enjoy superior healthcare access compared to their counterparts in the US. It is recommended that UK and the US should prioritize comprehensive healthcare orientation programs, ensuring students are well-informed about accessing and navigating their respective systems.

In recent years, the criteria for creating popular search headlines on Weibo have made it a socially controversial source of information. Using content analysis as the primary research method, this study seeks to systematically dissect the presentation of news topics within Weibo’s popular search headlines. Through a careful examination of news content, trends, and patterns, it aims to reveal the existence and dynamics of biases in news selection and presentation. Furthermore, this paper investigates the dissemination of public news and its complexity while exploring both internal and external factors contributing to deviations in the publication of public news headlines. It also strives to enrich our understanding of the significance of this platform and its potential impact on Chinese society. Insights gained from this research contribute to our understanding of the evolving patterns of news dissemination within the Chinese internet ecosystem. It underscores the importance of critically evaluating the role of digital platforms in shaping public discourse and information consumption, with a focus on bias issues and their broader societal implications.

Within the annals of Western political thought, the essence and centrality of the Stoic School have played a vital role in the development of Hellenism and subsequent philosophical ideologies. Zeno of Kition, one of the founding figures of Stoicism, made substantial contributions to the formulation of early Stoic principles. Alongside his notable advancements in fields such as ethics, physics, and logic, Zeno’s concepts of “the whole world” and “the citizen of the world” represented a pioneering breakthrough within the societal context of that era. These concepts transcended the prevailing class system and held epoch-making significance.

A questionnaire was used to investigate the knowledge and experience of university students in Jilin Province regarding innovation and entrepreneurship. A non-parametric test was used to analyze whether there were significant differences in knowledge perception, and experience of innovation and entrepreneurship between paired samples and independent samples. The results showed significant disparities in students’ knowledge perception, and experience of innovation and entrepreneurship. No significant differences in knowledge perception, or experience of innovation and entrepreneurship were found between the male and female samples. Significant differences in both aspects were found between samples at different stages. All this suggests that as students grow in age and work experience, their knowledge perception, and experience of innovation and entrepreneurship are continuously enriched. To ease the pressure on employment, university students should be actively encouraged to innovate and start businesses.

Since Trump’s “Indo-Pacific Strategy” was formally unveiled in 2017, the South Korean government’s perspective has undergone a dramatic shift. From being “very cautious” in the early years of the Moon Jae-in administration to “gradually approaching” in the latter years, to the Korean Indo-Pacific Strategy’s release immediately following Yoon Seok-yeol’s assumption of office to benchmark with the United States, which has raised concerns on all sides, this essay explores the domestic and external factors that have affected South Korea’s perception of the Indo-Pacific Strategy. On the domestic front, the primary drivers are rooted in economic interests and diplomatic considerations, with political party competition exerting a significant influence. On the international level, the continuous change in the situation in Northeast Asia and the pressure from the US have also compelled South Korea to seek more influence through the Indo-Pacific policy.

The “Double Reduction” policy starts from both inside and outside the school, with a view to combating the excessive academic burden of students and building a favourable educational ecology. However, the implementation of the policy has faced resistance and problems within and outside the school and in the general environment. The application of AI can provide new ideas in improving classroom quality, innovating educational tools, and evaluating and regulating education. At the same time, AI promotes the transformation of the education model and the innovation of education concepts. Artificial intelligence presents both opportunities and challenges for applications in education. This artical examines the obstacles in implementing the double reduction policy and explains the machine learning algorithms. By analysing pertinent education data, it explores AI’s role in aiding double reduction policy execution and potential risks.Whilst encouraging their integration, it is important to clarify the instrumental role of AI whilst addressing issues such as educational equity and Digital Gap problems.

It is widely accepted that rational individuals are unable to create cooperation in a prisoner’s dilemma. However, in everyday life, cooperation, for example, during a fishing moratorium, can be observed frequently. Additionally, the appearance of cooperation in the prisoner’s dilemma can be seen in numerous simulation studies. This paper reviews 31 simulation studies published between January 2017 and January 2023 in which agents can be observed in the results to improve cooperation in a prisoner’s dilemma. The proposed methodologies were sorted into seven categories, including Bounded Rationality, Memory, Adaptive Strategy, Mood Model, Intrinsic Reward, Network Dynamics, and Altruistic Attribute. Based on their impacts, the effectiveness of these seven approaches was classified into three categories: generating cooperation, maintaining cooperation, and spreading cooperation. This review is expected to be helpful for scholars conducting future research on multi-agent cooperation and irrational agent modeling.

The GDPR provided for new rules on the right of the data subjects to an effective judicial remedy against a controller or a processor where they consider that their rights have been infringed under the Regulation as a result of the processing of personal data. Art. 80 of the GDPR, on the representation of data subjects, is intended to favour private enforcement of EU data protection law, providing for the representation of data subjects by a body or entity which must meet specific requirements in order to exercise the rights conferred to the data subject regarding an effective judicial remedy. The representation of data subjects by a third party in legal actions is possible in two cases: on the one hand, the situation where a data subject mandates the body or organization to represent them or, on the other side, when a body or organization, has the right to lodge a complaint and exercise the rights to effective judicial remedies provided by the GDPR independently of a mandate. This paper will detail the legal framework of this private enforcement tool and analyse the links between data protection and consumer protection from the perspective of collective redress and representation of the interests of a data subject.
