Based on micro-data from the World Values Survey, this paper investigates the effects of gender and perceptions of gender inequality on subjective well-being using ordinal logistic regression, and tests the robustness of the findings using OLS regression and other methods. It is found that men have higher perceptions of gender inequality than women, and China has the highest perception of gender inequality compared to Japan, Germany and the USA. The regression results suggest that even though perceptions of gender inequality have a positive effect on subjective well-being, Chinese men’s subjective well-being is still significantly lower than women, and this difference may be due to the social pressures and expectations faced by men. In a society with a low perception of gender equality, both men and women are victims.

At present, the effectiveness of English writing teaching for junior English majors is not satisfactory, with a lack of interactivity in the classroom, inflexible teaching methods, a deficiency of targeted teaching for students’ problems, and insufficient emphasis on writing training. The main reasons for these problems are that teachers have failed to conduct the student-centered English writing teaching model, emphasizing one-way output, ignoring students’ writing problems, and resulting in the shortage of writing training. In this regard, teachers need to transform the teacher-centered English writing teaching model, consider students’ actual problems, establish common writing goals, construct online teaching resources for English writing course, and apply multi-modal writing teaching methods to boost the effectiveness of English writing teaching.

The construction work of smart civil aviation is an important initiative to promote the high-quality development of the civil aviation industry. The Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) attaches great importance to cabin-oriented Internet applications, and building smart cabins will become an important direction for differentiated development of airlines. This paper takes the Roadmap for the Construction of Intelligent Civil Aviation proposed by CAAC as the starting point, initially analyzes the advantages of building a new ecosystem of intelligent cabin, as well as the possible problems and risks, and puts forward suggestions for airlines.

Creative activities are a constant in all the periods and changes that humanity has gone through, they enriched life, improved living conditions and contributed to the progress made in different areas of activity. In today’s highly digitized context, social networks, YouTube, Spotify and Netflix are representative means by which intellectual creations reach the public. In this equation, it is legally required to answer the question how do creators, authors and holders of related rights receive appropriate compensation for the use and exploitation of their works? Collective management organizations provide an answer, they provide a way through which copyright and related rights may be exercised. As a consequence of their contribution to the exploitation of copyright and related rights, collective management organizations also play a fiscal role. Some aspects require clarifications, such as identification of taxable persons, direct and indirect tax applied to the achieved income, as well as non-patrimonial tax obligations.

Technology is evolving and the workplace is radically changing; remote work is possible for activities that we never sought that could be done elsewhere than in a workplace organised by the employer. Digitalization enables automated production lines, but also automated decisions related to the employees, replacing human control and making platform work possible. The impact of innovation on labour law was very important during the pandemic, accelerated by the need of the so-called `social distance`. Several platforms, like Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex Meet were rapidly adapted to allow live interaction for those who could not meet in-person. Online meetings, online lectures, online administration etc. have become quite rapidly the `normality` of those days. In this context, an old idea has found fertile ground for development: the metaverse. Even if the metaverse doesn’t exist yet, work in virtual worlds advertised as metaverses has become a reality, challenging the traditional structures of labour law. One of the concerning issues related to the metaverse is related to workers’ discrimination in the virtual world and the possibilities to tackle it.

This study aims to identify the general aspects concerning the elements of correspondence between the notion of cybercrime and the field of national security by analysing the regulatory and institutional framework. Electronic information concerning national security requires concrete measures for its identification and control, as its alteration, theft, or modification may constitute a source of vulnerability for the security of the State and its citizens. In this respect, the architecture of the regulatory framework we are considering concerns national security provisions and the protection of classified information.

In the context of comprehensive penetration and cross-border integration of information technology, digital transformation of enterprises has become an important way to accelerate enterprise innovation and lead economic innovation growth, injecting new vitality into enterprises. Based on the textual information of annual reports of A-share listed companies from 2011-2021, this paper constructs a measure of digital transformation and systematically examines the impact of digital transformation on corporate innovation output and its impact mechanism. It is found that there is a significant positive relationship between digital transformation and innovation output of enterprises, and the finding is robust. The mechanism test indicates that corporate digital transformation promotes corporate innovation by increasing innovation inputs and promoting corporate learning effects. Further study found that the promotion effect of corporate digital transformation on corporate innovation was more pronounced in large enterprises, high-tech enterprises, stateowned enterprises, enterprises whose executives have master’s degrees, and enterprises in relatively close geographical proximity to the eastern region. This study not only enriches the empirical research on the consequences of digital transformation and the mechanism of enterprises using new dynamic energy to enhance transformation, but also has important implications for promoting the layout adjustment of national digital innovation-driven strategies.

A great nation rises, craftsmanship builds dreams. The working class occupies the position of the leading class in China, as the main force of reform and opening up as well as the construction of socialist modernisation. The construction of the new era of socialist economy with Chinese characteristics cannot be separated from the new era of craftsmanship, however, to carry forward the spirit of craftsmanship, excellent professional knowledge and skills is an indispensable quality of the workers group. Therefore, we should focus on the development of vocational education, comprehensively improve the level of vocational education, provide more skilled personnel support for regional modernisation, breed new-age craftsmen in line with the development requirements of the times, motivate the majority of young people to take the road of skills to become a success and serve the country with their skills, accelerate the construction of an army of knowledge-based, skilled and innovative workers, and provide strong talent support for the comprehensive construction of a modernised socialist country.

In recent years, there’s been a global trend of emphasizing the role of local characteristics in steering economic growth. To foster the advancement of local characteristic industries in characteristic towns, the public-private partnership (PPP) model is being adopted. This strategy leverages social resources and governmental incentives to drive both urban and rural progress, thus becoming a silver bullet to bolster the growth of characteristic towns. However, achieving “town-industry integration” and “sustainable development” necessitates shared consensus and understanding among all stakeholders. Given the intricate nature of the PPP mechanism, a comprehensive theoretical framework tailored to Chinese local characteristics is essential. This study scrutinizes the integration of the PPP model into characteristic industries within small Chinese towns. It follows a framework encompassing theoretical characteristics, feasibility analysis, existing problems, countermeasures, and recommendations, as well as future trends. The study employs both inductive reasoning and comparison. The research findings serve to establish a theoretical consensus for the PPP model’s integration with characteristic industries in these towns, benefiting all involved parties.
