Research on Film Title Translation from the Perspective of Polysystem Theory 多系统理论视角下的电影片名翻译研究

From the film, we can have access to the customs and cultures of all over the world, and the film title is playing a pioneering role. The more successful the title is, the more attractive it is to the audience. The translation of film titles is more dependent on by audiences in different language and in different cultural backgrounds. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the translation of film titles. This paper intends to study the translation of film titles (Chinese translation of English titles and English translation Chinese titles) through Polysystem theory, and find that culture is an important factor affecting the translation of film titles, in addition to political and patron factors.

Multidisciplinary Integration in Undergraduate Environmental Protection Design Innovation 本科环保设计创新的多学科整合

This paper examines the necessity and implementation of multidisciplinary integration in undergraduate environmental protection design innovation, using the 4th Urban Water Environment and Water Ecology Creative Competition as a case study. Firstly, it explores the significance of the innovation competition itself as a foundation for analyzing the impact of multidisciplinary integration on the development of participating students, faculty teams, and the advancement of disciplines. Secondly, it provides a detailed discussion on the outstanding achievements attained through the integration of three disciplines, namely environmental engineering, computer science, and art and design, within the context of the Water Environment and Water Ecology Creative Competition. Lastly, the paper concludes by summarizing the importance and value of multidisciplinary integration in undergraduate environmental protection design innovation. By presenting the insights and analysis outlined in this paper, readers can gain a comprehensive understanding of the role played by multidisciplinary integration in environmental protection design innovation, thereby offering valuable ideas and perspectives for teaching and research in related fields.

The Application of Puritanism in American Early Literature 清教主义在美国早期文学中的应用

Puritanism is an important cornerstone of American society and culture, and it has exerted a very important influence on the economy, politics, religion and social life of American society. It has a profound influence on the American people’s thoughts and culture from all aspects, and has laid the keynote of American society and American spirit, and shaped the American people’s character of hard work, thrift, piety sobriety. Early American literary works were also influenced by Puritanism, showing the characteristics of simplicity, directness and freshness. This paper discusses the cause and connotation of Puritanism, as well as its influence on the American character. Based on this, this passage takes the Autobiography of Franklin and the Declaration of Independence as examples to analyze the specific application of Puritanism in early American literary works.

Improving the Quality of Teaching Physical Education Courses at Universities 提高高校体育课程教学质量

This manuscript explores the advantages and limitations of teaching physical education courses at universities and proposes strategies to enhance the quality of teaching. The advantages of improving the quality of physical education teaching include flexible selection of sports subjects, enhancing positive attitudes towards learning, continuous development and improvement of lecturers, testing and evaluation standards, and innovative teaching methods. The limitations identified are limited curriculum content, teaching plans dependent on weather conditions, limited lecturer team, and lack of motivation among some students. To enhance the quality of teaching physical education, the manuscript proposes enhancing the role and significance of physical education in universities and adjusting and improving the content of the physical education program through innovative teaching methods, such as introducing new elective subjects, adapting teaching content and methods to student needs, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration between departments.

How school Memories Inform Possible Selves of an English Pre-Service Teacher 学校记忆如何塑造英语职前教师的可能自我

Employing narrative prompting and interviewing, this qualitative study asked an English pre-service teacher to recall his memories of secondary schools and consider the significance of those memories. The participant recounted various memories related to the characteristics and behavior of his secondary school teachers, which fell into three main categories: “why did they ignore me”, “then they saw me” and “finally, he came and save me”. These memories revealed the barriers and supports the interviewee encountered in different educational environments, which greatly influenced the formation of his desired and feared possible selves. Moreover, the pre-service teacher recognized a conflict between the possible selves and teaching practices, and attempted to negotiate the past memories with future career, which was referred to as “no more acting against my beliefs”. The implications of pre-service teacher’s school memories and possible selves were discussed in the context of teacher development program.

This paper mainly explores the theoretical logic and practical research of college mental health education from the perspective of social learning theory. The study suggests that social learning theory provides a new perspective and approach for college mental health education, and the application of this theory can promote the comprehensive development of students’ mental health. At the same time, this theory also provides guidance and support for the practice of college mental health education. By establishing a diversified and autonomous learning environment, enhancing the cooperation and coordination between school and society education, and establishing feedback and evaluation mechanisms, the effectiveness and quality of students’ learning can be improved. This study has certain reference value for the theoretical research and practical promotion of college mental health education.

Language Use and Disciplinarity: A Literature Review 语言使用与纪律:文献综述

Disciplinary variation in language use is one of the focal topics in academic discourse research. This paper critically reviews extant literature studies on the close relationship between language use and disciplinarity, in an attempt to clarify the different perspectives, both theoretical and methodological, in exploring the discipline-specific nature of academic discourses. This paper points out that the previous studies mainly adopted a form-first approach to analyzing the lexico-grammatical features of disciplinary discourses and calls for more attention to the meanings, functions, and discourse-semantic patterns in discourses across disciplines by adopting a function-first approach.

Development of Scoring Standard of English Oral Test in Respects of Research and Practice 英语口语考试评分标准的研究与实践

This paper aims to summarize the development of international oral test scoring standards since 1980s. The development of scoring standards for oral test mainly includes two aspects: research and practice. In the respect of research, the scoring standard of oral test has gone through three stages: “expert experience”, “practitioner cognition” and “learner development”; In terms of practice, the scoring standard of oral test can be roughly divided into three types: “native speaker”, “being able to express” and “typical characteristics”. Based on the analysis of representative research papers and typical practical cases, this paper aims to sort out the development of international oral test scoring standards in order to provide suggestions for the research and practice of oral test scoring standards in China.

A Study on the Translation of the Image of “Moon” in Classical Chinese Poetry: A Cognitive Perspective 中国古典诗歌中“月亮”意象的翻译研究:认知视角

Image is a very important component in poetry which is the combination of object things and subjective feelings. Proper translation of images secures smooth communication between the readers and the poets. The author aims to apply cognitive linguistics to analyze the cognitive process of transferring imagery of “the moon” in Chinese Classical poetry. On the basis of the close connections between the translator’s internal cognitive mechanism and the comprehension and reproduction process of imagery and ideorealm, the possibility to reproduce the original imagery and ideorealm in the translations is analyzed to facilitate cross-cultural communication.

Study of Classroom Discourse of English-Major Interns from the Perspective of Functional Linguistics 功能语言学视角下英语专业实习生课堂语篇研究

Based on the qualitative analysis of classroom discourse of English-major interns, this study investigates the characteristics and causes of classroom discourse of English-major interns in underdeveloped areas in western China from the perspective of functional linguistics, and endeavors to explore the reasons for these characteristics from social context. The results show that the classroom discourse of English-major interns has the following three characteristics: 1) code-switching is common; 2) the types of clauses are mainly imperative sentences, declarative sentences with rising intonation; 3) teachers talk a lot and dominate the conversational turn. Code-switching reflects the shortage of target language input and outdated teaching methods in English class; and the second characteristic just echoes with existing research; teacher’s dominance over conversational turn indicates interns’ imitation of their instructors’ teaching mode, hoping to construct their teacher identity. This paper puts forward relevant suggestions to the above-mentioned problems, including adopting a research-guided teaching in elementary education, reinforcing the supervision of college internship instructors, diversifying the way interns constructing their teacher identities.
本研究在对英语专业实习生课堂话语进行定性分析的基础上,从功能语言学的角度考察了西部欠发达地区英语专业实习生课堂话语的特点和成因,并试图从社会语境中探讨这些特点产生的原因。结果表明,英语专业实习生的课堂话语具有以下三个特点:1)语码转换较为普遍;2)分句类型以祈使句、升调陈述句为主;3)老师说得很多,主导着谈话的转向。语码转换反映了英语课堂中目的语输入的不足和教学方法的过时;第二个特征正好与现有的研究相呼应;教师对会话转向的主导表明实习生模仿教师的教学模式,希望构建自己的教师身份。针对上述问题,本文提出了在基础教育中实行研究性指导教学、加强对高校实习教师的监督、丰富实习生教师身份建构方式等相关建议。
