The article results from post-doctoral research conducted in Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. The goal is to propose information retrieval strategies based on natural language processing, to extract semantic relations from WordNet.Pt, and use them to represent documents and users’ search expressions. The approach is qualitative, exploratory and applied to ambiguity problems in information retrieval. As for the procedures used, it is a bibliographic search. The discussion is motivated by the problem of low precision and high recall in user searches, influenced both by the absence of semantic correspondence between search expressions and terms used in indexing and by the lack of determination of the semantic similarity between document terms that, even being lexicographically different, have the same meaning. The research core is justified by the advantage of developing systems that combine natural language and controlled language, for an interactive search. Although in a partial way, the research points to important results in the solution of lexical ambiguity, through semantic relationships in the representation of documents and user search. On the one hand, this success guarantees the restriction of the search space and, consequently, precision. On the other hand, the expansion of consultations by suggesting equivalent terms from controlled vocabularies and the natural language and its variants.

This article is about the entity linking as a primordial step for the semantic information retrieval, it’s use analyzing the application of the DBpedia Spotlight software in descriptive texts of postage stamps. The methodology consists in an exploratory research on the objectives, bibliographic and case study on the means. The case study explores the application of software in natural language descriptive texts for entity identification and entity linking to the DBpedia knowledge base. The research reveals the software’s ability to create specialized and interconnected knowledge bases through data originated from Wikipedia. It is concluded that the entity linking is an important step for the semantic retrieval of objects that present in their textual description entities portrayed in the encyclopedia.

Studies an indexing of woodcuts whose expressed images represent narratives of memory and popular culture, evoking in his readers plural perceptions and sensations. General objective is to present a proposed methodology for indexing images, especially woodcuts, considering the theoretical-methodological framework of Discursive Semantics. Use the descriptive and exploratory methodology based on the qualitative approach, with the universe comprising the cord leaflets whose woodcuts and verses were used by the poet and woodcutter Marcelo Soares. Seeks theoretical-methodological support in semantic discourse, privileging the processes of figuration and thematization, with no intention of contributing to the significant production of semantic metadata in image indexing. Consider that an analysis of images such as woodcuts must be based on, use, visual narrative and semantic articulation of the same with the content of sources related to these resources (such as title, captions, package verses and tags assigned by users in a given system), contemplating the figurative and thematic procedures of Discursive Semantics. Finds that Discursive Semantics is a tool that helps index professionals to be sure that they are much closer to the themes portrayed in the woodcuts.

Este artigo apresenta o comportamento dos usuários ao interagirem com fake news no contexto das mídias sociais. O intuito foi discutir o contexto informacional dos usuários que utilizam as mídias sociais para propagar informações falsas e características dos cenários utilizados, atualmente, nas mídias sociais digitais. Nesse sentido, tem como objetivo a compreensão acerca do comportamento infocomunicacional dos usuários que utilizam suas redes sociais na Internet como meio de comunicação e para busca e recuperação da informação. Os objetivos específicos pretenderam analisar o comportamento dos usuários nas mídias sociais digitais, perante as Fake News, e identificar quais recursos são destacados como necessários para combater a propagação de notícias falsas na Internet. A metodologia é composta por pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa, com método descritivo, do tipo bibliográfica. Foi realizada uma contextualização entre a nova realidade digital e todas as classes sociais, levando em consideração que os mais jovens e escolarizados são os que mais acessam a Internet. Como resultado, destaca-se alguns recursos que podem ser necessários para promover um comportamento do usuário, visando combater a proliferação de notícias falsas por meio digital. Conclui-se alertando para a importância de se considerar o comportamento infocomunicacional dos usuários perante as mídias sociais, principalmente no que tange à identificação, disseminação, difusão e recuperação de notícias falsas e verídicas por meio das mídias sociais digitais. Sabe-se que o acervo de músicas brasileiras é vasto e reflete as tradições do País em função da sua forte conexão com a cultura local. Do ponto de vista informacional e tecnológico, é importante caracterizar a música brasileira e os seus limites, a fim de permitir a construção estratégias de preservação e organização desses conteúdos musicais. Por outro lado, a literatura aponta algumas definições para o conceito de música brasileira que sugerem uma revisão a fim de formalizar as características desse repertório. Neste artigo é apresentado um estudo etnográfico com músicos especialistas no tema a fim de identificar uma definição mais precisa sobre música popular brasileira e seus atributos mais relevantes.

Relata os resultados de pesquisa descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa, realizada por meio de estudo e análise da literatura relativa à menção nominal, que consiste no uso das três primeiras letras do sobrenome do autor para construção da notação de autor, que integra o número de chamada. Observou-se que o tema é pouco tratado na literatura, nacional e estrangeira, e quando isso acontece é de forma superficial. Recorreu-se aos documentos originais de Louis Stanley Jast (1868-1944), autor que propôs, pela primeira vez, o uso da menção nominal. Assim, este estudo descreve a metodologia proposta por Jast (1901a, 1901b) para a construção da menção nominal, incluindo orientações para autores cujos sobrenomes iniciam com as mesmas letras, a marca da obra, obras de ficção, exemplares, obras relacionadas. A literatura da área foi também resgatada e consolidada, bem como apontados pontos positivos e negativos da metodologia de Jast.

Diante da importância da inovação para a sociedade contemporânea, dos crescentes estudos acerca da gestão do conhecimento e do pressuposto de que o conhecimento é elemento fundamental para a inovação, o presente artigo objetiva verificar se processos estruturados de gestão do conhecimento podem influenciar a geração de inovação, buscando identificar convergências entre ambas. Para tanto, realizou-se uma revisão de literatura sobre os temas: ‘gestão de conhecimento’ e ‘inovação’. Após a análise desenvolveu-se um quadro síntese apresentado as áreas-chave dos modelos de maturidade de gestão do conhecimento, o que propiciou destacar os elementos basilares da gestão do conhecimento e o modelo mais abrangente entre os analisados. Finalizando, analisou-se comparativamente as áreas-chave do modelo de maturidade de gestão do conhecimento selecionado e os elementos que constituem os pilares fundamentais para a geração de inovação e descritos em instrumento que mede a atividade inovativa em âmbito mundial. A análise propiciou evidenciar convergências entre o modelo de gestão do conhecimento e os indicadores de inovação, ratificando a hipótese de que processos estruturados de gestão do conhecimento podem contribuir signikficativamente para a geração de inovação em contextos organizacionais.

The present work measures the impact of Brazilian Information Science journals using the methodology proposed by the new Qualis. It analyses the journals in the “Revistas Brasileiras” collection of the Information Science Database (BRAPCI), which were designated to the area 31 of Qualis in 2016 and which had their classification published in the Qualis’ preliminary list in 2019. The FI (JCR), the CiteScore (SJR) and the h5 Index (GSM) of the indexed journals were identified. The Publish or Perish software was used to calculate the h5 index of the non-indexed journals, as well as to collect citation data of articles published in the last five years. The data received a treatment for the elimination of duplicate records and non-citable documents. The average number of citations per article, the standard deviation, the number of citations received by the most cited article and the percentage of articles without citation were calculated. The results suggest that, although most journals have increased their level of classification, the proposal for the new Qualis methodology did not favor Brazilian Information Science, considering the non-permanence of publications in A1 stratum. On the other hand, the adoption of the GSM h5 index for the evaluation of journals without FI or CiteScore is positive. It was also found that the preliminary Qualis classification (2019) presents inconsistencies, considering the classification of similar h5 index journals in different strata. Finally, it was found that the use of Publish or Perish software implies the need for data treatment, considering the various errors presented.

It analyses the journals in the “Revistas Brasileiras” collection of the Information Science Database (BRAPCI), which were designated to the area 31 of Qualis in 2016 and which had their classification published in the Qualis’ preliminary list in 2019. The FI (JCR), the CiteScore (SJR) and the h5 Index (GSM) of the indexed journals were identified. The Publish or Perish software was used to calculate the h5 index of the non-indexed journals, as well as to collect citation data of articles published in the last five years. The data received a treatment for the elimination of duplicate records and non-citable documents. The average number of citations per article, the standard deviation, the number of citations received by the most cited article and the percentage of articles without citation were calculated. The results suggest that, although most journals have increased their level of classification, the proposal for the new Qualis methodology did not favor Brazilian Information Science, considering the non-permanence of publications in A1 stratum. On the other hand, the adoption of the GSM h5 index for the evaluation of journals without FI or CiteScore is positive. It was also found that the preliminary Qualis classification (2019) presents inconsistencies, considering the classification of similar h5 index journals in different strata.
