Abstract: Faith community nursing often is anchored in a community through local networks that support the development of both the ministry and the faith community nurse. Such local networks are established and sustained through the leadership of faith community nurses (FCNs). A research study interviewed nurses recognized as foundational to the development of FCNs in the United States from 1984 to 2000. The Waterwheel Model of Spiritual Leadership was used as a construct for interviewing 24 FCN leaders discovered through Delphi methodology. An adaptation of Colazzi's method of qualitative analysis was used to analyze data collected in videotaped format. Three predominant themes emerged that may be instrumental to developing future FCN leaders and growth of this specialty nursing practice.

Abstract: Curriculum evaluation, including alignment of concepts, is an ongoing challenge for nurse educators. Nursing curricular frameworks encompass varied concepts, guided by professional standards. This article examines a conceptual model, the Globe Framework, for BSN generalist practice including initial development, implementation, and evaluation. Evaluation at one school, driven by new AACN Essentials in 2021, spans from 2008 to 2020, reviewing three data points: meeting minutes, master syllabi from baccalaureate coursework, and accreditation documents. Challenges included merging two nursing departments with collaboration to reach consensus. Framework strengths include local practice environment values and multiple concepts. Findings and recommendations can inform nurse educators as they consider program evaluation and upcoming accreditation standards.

Abstract: Patient-centered care (PCC), a term coined decades ago, is a key but challenging focus of nursing practice. The history, development, and current dialogue about PCC along with biblical perspectives on caregiving, wisdom, and discernment help nurses who follow Christ to offer compassionate PCC. Strategies are proposed for meaningfully engaging patients and families as active participants in healthcare. The Christian nurse can best provide consistent, effective PCC by remaining Christ-centered.

Abstract: Adjunct nursing instructors (ANIs) are used to meet the needs of nursing education programs, but challenges of adjusting to unfamiliar academic settings often lead to poor job satisfaction and low retention of ANIs. The Adjunct Instructor Survey (Milliken & Jurgens, 2008) was used to query 25 ANIs regarding the importance and availability of support services pre-COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic. Mentoring was identified as most important pre- and post-pandemic, with a reported decrease in mentoring opportunities post-pandemic. Developing quality mentoring programs for ANIs needs to be a priority.
