Unearthing Culture to Support Health Promotion: Learning from Rural Guatemalan Women. 发掘文化，支持健康促进：向危地马拉农村妇女学习。

Abstract: This ethnographical qualitative study focused on health perceptions and practices of rural Guatemalan women. Researchers gathered data through interviews and observations in health, school, and village settings. Three themes emerged in data analysis: health practices are related to the situation of poverty; knowledge gaps exist related to healthcare; and natural remedies are a prevalent practice in rural communities. The findings can help structure sustainable health programs not only for rural Guatemalan communities but where poverty and/or lack of knowledge influence health, as well as point to the importance of nurses practicing cultural humility and providing collaborative care.

Abstract: A North American nurse confronted her ongoing resistance about living in the Middle East and later India. Through studying the Bible and praying, the author overcame her reluctance as she worked as a school nurse on the Arabian Peninsula, faced breast cancer, and later embraced the opportunity to provide nursing care to sex-trafficked women in a brothel. In each setting, she experienced God's supernatural work of changing her attitude and enabling her to express her faith in Christ to those whom she served and lived among.

Abstract: Academic nurse educators (ANEs) are essential for ensuring that the next generation of nurses is adequately prepared professionally and in sufficient numbers to meet healthcare and workforce needs. Although the pandemic is considered over, there are continued implications on the efficacy of nursing education that is linked to the overlooked significance and well-being of ANEs. This study examined the relationship between the COVID-19 event and stress levels and overall well-being of ANEs.

Abstract: During his first short-term healthcare mission trip to serve as a nurse in Nigeria, this author wrestled with the resource-poor healthcare setting, the loss of a life that could have been prevented in a North American hospital, and the requirement that patients and their families pay for care before being discharged. Reflections on his expectations and the mission's outcomes, a new sense of humility, and grappling with challenges to his faith accompanied the author home.
