The human brain does not always function rationally. The classical framing effect suggests people have different risk preferences regarding how the situation is framed. Some research suggests nationality will influence decision-making. This study explores whether people will change their risk preferences when questions are framed differently and set in different national contexts. An online between-subject-design experiment among 224 Chinese grownups was conducted, using a modified version of “Asian Disease Problem”. The independent variables of this study were the nationalities in each question and negative or positive framings of the question, while the dependent variable was the participants’ risk preference. The results showed that framing has a significant main effect. Nationality was not found a significant main effect, but the main effect of framing remains significant in each nationality setting. This study revealed that people had different risk preferences depending on the framings of the question. Participants were inclined to choose the riskseeking option. At the same time, the question was framed negatively but not showed a salient preference for riskseeking or risk-aversive options in positive framing. However, participants were not influenced by which nationality the question was set in. Further research containing the priming of nationality before the framing question is needed to examine the exact relationship between nationality and the framing. fMRI studies of which parts of the brain are active during participants' decision-making might also help to provide deeper understandings of the neuropsychological rationales of their choices.

This study aimed to propose an appropriate learning model that promotes siri’ na pacce to nurture and strengthen the character of elementary school students. Siri’ na pacce is the local wisdom of the Bugis-Makassar tribe, one of the prominent tribes in Indonesia. This study was educational design research. Designing this learning model applied three steps, specifically 1) needs and context analysis, 2) review of the literature and 3) development of the first blueprint for the model. Those steps were included in the preliminary research phase of educational design research. The result of this study was a prototype of a Siri’ na Pacce Values-Based Learning Model consisting of five steps, namely acquiring initial knowledge, thinking, discussing, communicating, and reflecting. The father is the head of the family who has a very important role. Apart from being a breadwinner, fathers also play an important role in all matters including early childhood language development. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced all sectors to adapt, including family life. Even father figures have to adapt their household to the rapidly changing conditions that result in a more intensive relationship between fathers and their children. The purpose of this study was to obtain a descriptive description of the role of fathers in children's language development, especially during a pandemic. The writing of this article uses descriptive methods and source analysis as the basis for research. The subjects of the study were 50 fathers who on average had children aged 5-6 years. By using qualitative data analysis and data collection used is observation and filling out questionnaires sent via a google form. The results of the study were that during the pandemic, fathers spent a lot of time playing with their children, such as guessing, telling stories, and watching cell phones together. In addition, some of them continue to work to meet the needs of their families without neglecting activities with their children even though the children are closer to their mothers.

Translating literature work such as poem is a challenge since the message of the source language has to be conveyed as close as possible to the target language. Therefore, translation shift and translation equivalence are the knowledge that has to be mastered by translators. This research aims at finding out the translation shift types and translation equivalence types used by Chairil Anwar in translating To Margot Heinemann poem by John Cornford into Huesca. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The instrument to get the data using documentations taken from To Margot Heinemann poem by John Cornford and its Indonesian translation, Huesca translated by Chairil Anwar. All total data were 60 data, which analyzed qualitatively. The research found that there are four types of translation shift. They are level shift (5 data or 16.66%), structure shift (9 data or 30%), class shift (3 data or 10%), and unit shift (13 data or 43.33%). This study also found two kinds of translation equivalence. They are formal equivalence (4 data or 25%) and dynamic equivalence (12 data or 75%). The most dominant shift found is unit shift and the most dominant equivalence found in the translation poem is dynamic equivalence

Merti Kali is an activity to clean and maintain rivers in the Yogyakarta Special Region that aims to preserve the watershed. This research aims to examine how much Merti Kali's activities affect the river pollution index and public health. A descriptive qualitative design was utilized, and the data were obtained from interviews with the Yogyakarta Province Environment and Forestry Service and other secondary sources. The results of the analysis demonstrated that while the activities of Merti Kali did not affect the river pollution index, they, however, transformed the health level of the river community. As the locations of Merti Kali activities increased in 2016, there has been a decrease in the number of dengue cases. There is still a need for the role of the Regional Government to raise awareness among business actors who dispose of their waste into rivers.

Curriculum ideological-political education is an effective way to attain the whole process and all-round education. It actively explored the ideological-political construction and practice of "Modern Climatology" course, and established the educational objectives of knowledge imparting, ability training and quality improvement. Combined with the characteristics of atmospheric science specialty, the effectual way of "combining knowledge teaching with value orientation" was explored. With the help of big data technology, the development of teaching resource database, teaching methods and teaching evaluation in the ideological-political education has been realized, thus forming a more scientific, comprehensive, intelligent and personalized ideological-political mode of the course, and achieving the goal of integrating the ideological-political education into the knowledge education. These have further improved the professional quality of meteorological practitioners in the future, and continuously transported talents to meteorological departments for "building the frontline of meteorological disaster prevention and reduction".

The purpose of this review was to critically evaluate the previous literature on bilingual effects on executive function, in particular enhancement on attentional control. However, recent studies have shown inconsistent conclusions on the relationship between bilingualism and executive function. Such inconsistency could be attributed to the diversity of methodology, the complexity of bilingualism, and the lack of theoretical ground. Based on this review, the future direction would revise the theoretical framework to improve experimental design, and cautiously interpret and compare outcomes between studies. The ultimate aim is no longer to demonstrate whether bilingual advantages on executive function exist or not, but first to understand constitutions of bilingual experiences, then to investigate how different elements have potentially contributed to cognitive development over the lifespan. The significance of such investigations on bilingualism is not only practical for institutions to design effective foreign languages education for children within a normative trajectory, but also of importance to design and deliver effective interventions for the cognitive deficit populations.
