Hard turning is amachining process that is widely used in the precisionmechanical industry. The characterization of the functional surface texture by the ISO 13565 standard holds a key role in automotive mechanics. Until now, the impact of cutting conditions during hard turning operation on the bearing area curve parameters has not been studied (ISO 13565). The three parameters Rpk , Rk and Rvk illustrate the ability of the surface texture to resist friction. In this work, the main objective is to study the impact of cutting conditions (Vc, f and ap) of the hard turning on three parameters of the bearing area curve. The statistical study based on response surface methodology (RSM), analysis of variance (ANOVA) and quadratic regression were performed to model the three output parameters and optimize the input parameters. The experimental design used in this study is the Taguchi L25 orthogonal array. The results obtained show that the cutting speed has a greater effect on the bearing ratio curve (Rpk , Rk and Rvk ) parameters with a percentage contribution of 37.68%, 37.65% and 36.91%, respectively. The second significant parameter is the feed rate and the other parameter is significant only in relation to Rpk and Rk parameters.

In manufacturing industries, the selection of machine parameters is a very complicated task in a time-bound manner. The process parameters play a primary role in confirming the quality, low cost of manufacturing, high productivity, and provide the source for sustainable machining. This paper explores the milling behavior of MWCNT/epoxy nanocomposites to attain the parametric conditions having lower surface roughness ( Ra ) and higher materials removal rate ( MRR ). Milling is considered as an indispensable process employed to acquire highly accurate and precise slots. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is very trendy among the nature-stimulated metaheuristic method used for the optimization of varying constraints. This article uses the non-dominated PSO algorithm to optimize the milling parameters, namely, MWCNT weight% ( Wt .), spindle speed ( N ) , feed rate ( F ) , and depth of cut ( D ) . The first setting confirmatory test demonstrates the value of Ra and MRR that are found as 1 . 62 µ m and 5.69 mm 3 /min, respectively and for the second set, the obtained values of Ra and MRR are 3.74 µ m and 22.83 mm 3 /min respectively. The Pareto set allows the manufacturer to determine the optimal setting depending on their application need. The outcomes of the proposed algorithm offer new criteria to control the milling parameters for high efficiency.

Study on the ankle rehabilitation device 踝关节康复装置的研究
Q3 Engineering Pub Date : 2023-11-06 DOI: 10.24425/ame.2021.139803
This study developed an ankle rehabilitation device for post-stroke patients. First, the research models and dynamic equations of the device are addressed. Second, the Sliding Mode Controller for the ankle rehabilitation device is designed, and the device’s response is simulated on the software MATLAB. Third, the ankle rehabilitation device is successfully manufactured from aluminum and uses linear actuators to emulate dorsiflexion and plantarflexion exercises for humans. The advantages of the device are a simple design, low cost, and mounts onto rehabilitative equipment. The device can operate fast through experiments, has a foot drive mechanism overshoot of 0 ◦ , and a maximum angle error of 1 ◦ . Moreover, the rehabilitation robot can operate consistently and is comfortable for stroke patients to use. Finally, we will fully develop the device and proceed to clinical implementation.

New analysis of experimental data of the hydrodynamic liquid film around jet zone on horizontal plate 水平板射流区水动力液膜实验数据的新分析
Q3 Engineering Pub Date : 2023-11-06 DOI: 10.24425/ame.2021.138400
Optimization of cooling systems is of major importance due to the economy of cooling water and energy in thermal installations in the industry. The hydrodynamic study of the film is a prerequisite for the study of the intensity of the heat transfer during the cooling of a horizontal plate by a liquid film. This experimental work made it possible to quantify the hydrodynamic parameters by a new approach, a relation linking the thickness of the film to the velocity was found as a function of the geometrical and hydrodynamic characteristics of the sprayer. A new statistical approach has been developed for the measurement of the velocity, the liquid fluid arriving at the edge of the plate and having velocity V is spilled out like a projectile. The recovering of the liquid in tubes allowed us to quantify flow rates for different heights positions relative to the plate, statistical processing permitted us to assess the probable velocity with a margin of error.

An investigation into vibration control of gear bearing systems 齿轮轴承系统振动控制的研究
Q3 Engineering Pub Date : 2023-11-06 DOI: 10.24425/ame.2021.138401
Considering the importance of gear systems as one of the important vibration and noise sources in power transmission systems, an active control for suppressing gear vibration is presented in this paper. A gear bearing model is developed and used to design an active control gear-bearing system. Two possible configurations of control system are designed based on active bearing and active gear–shaft torsional coupling to control and reduce the disturbance affecting system components. The controller for computing the actuation force is designed by using the H-infinity control approach. Simulation results indicate that the desired controller can efficiently be used for vibration control of gear bearing systems.

Static behaviour of functionally graded plates resting on elastic foundations using neutral surface concept 用中性面概念研究弹性地基上功能梯度板的静力性能
Q3 Engineering Pub Date : 2023-11-06 DOI: 10.24425/ame.2020.131706
In this study, static behaviors of functionally graded plates resting on Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundation using the four-variable refined theory and the physical neutral surface concept is reported. The four-variable refined theory assumes that the transverse shear strain has a parabolic distribution across the plate’s thickness, thus, there is no need to use the shear correction factor. The material properties of the plate vary continuously and smoothly according to the thickness direction by a power-law distribution. The geometrical middle surface of the functionally graded plate selected in computations is very popular in the existing literature. By contrast, in this study, the physical neutral surface of the plate is used. Based on the four-variable refined plate theory and the principle of virtual work, the governing equations of the plate are derived. Next, an analytical solution for the functionally graded plate resting on the Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundation is solved using the Navier’s procedure. In numerical investigations, a comparison of the static behaviors of the functionally graded plate between several models of displacement field using the physical neutral surface is given, and parametric studies are also presented.

An enhanced XFEM for the discontinuous Poisson problem 不连续泊松问题的改进XFEM
Q3 Engineering Pub Date : 2023-11-06 DOI: 10.24425/ame.2019.126369
Paweł Stąpór
In the paper, the extended finite element method (XFEM) is combined with a recovery procedure in the analysis of the discontinuous Poisson problem. The model considers the weak as well as the strong discontinuity. Computationally efficient low-order finite elements provided good convergence are used. The combination of the XFEM with a recovery procedure allows for optimal convergence rates in the gradient i.e. as the same order as the primary solution. The discontinuity is modelled independently of the finite element mesh using a step-enrichment and level set approach. The results show improved gradient prediction locally for the interface element and globally for the entire domain.

The constructional increase of crumbling effectiveness 摇摇欲坠的效率的结构性提高
Q3 Engineering Pub Date : 2023-11-06 DOI: 10.24425/ame.2007.131564
F. Chwarścianek
The study presents an attempt at increasing the effectiveness o f the crushing process through the application of a new original crumbling system. In the process of crushing materials, friction is present in many crushers as extremely significant or even dominating factor. The proposed construction solution is characterized by the occurrence – always on one of the working surfaces – of the static friction factor, and thus a friction that is greater than the kinetic friction.
